Viewer, Calum, correctly noted that I forgot to include the Outriggers Bar (again, apparently…) but either way, Outriggers is a lovely bar located aft of the buffet, with a wake view over the Terrace Pool. Check it out if you ever step onboard Diamond.
Great ship. Bigger and newer isn’t always better! If you love dancing and live music this ship has many great venues like the Wheelhouse Bar and Explorers Lounge. We love the palace style atrium because you actually see the sea whereas on RC it feels like you’re in a shopping arcade!
Thanks for the review! I'm really keen to learn about all the Princess ships that come to Australia, as Princess is our preferred cruiseline. This ship looks really spacious.
Ahhh- you caught me in the video😅. I liked the ship and agree that it really needs the International Cafe. Internet Cafes are such a big waste of space these days. Surely they can do away with them and just have 1 or 2 PCs tucked away somewhere. I must say that the pizza up on deck was excellent! One of the best I've ever had at sea.
Haha! Where abouts in the video? Yeah they could definitely repurpose that space! The lack of the international cafe is a huge miss. And totally agree about Princess pizza. It’s brilliant.
This ship looks like an older tired version of pacific / carnival adventure. I would posit that in the next few years this will undergo a dry dock and moved to the carnival brand
I highly doubt it, both Diamond Princess and the Sapphire Princess were built by the Mitsubishi Corp of Japan. I believe I read that they have special provisions allowed them throughout Japan, not afforded other ships. At most they may get a refurbish. You have to realise that Japanese culture, sticks with tradition, and these two are their preferred ships for the included amenities. It would be sacrilege to revamp them into 🎡
@@neilhadley4722 I noted that as well. Yes Pacific Adventure will be absorbed into Carnival from March 2025 as will Pacific Encounter ( previously Star Princess ) sister ships both built by Fincantieri in Italy. Their layout is very similar. We like the Adventure, I do hope Carnival don’t do too much aesthetically to either Adventure or Encounter other than perhaps their livery. We are sailing on Diamond in Feb 2025 repositioning through SE Asia to Japan. .
It is very beige and caramel. Surprising Princess haven't attempted any sort of color update. Arguably, the 2 Grand Class ships with P&O Australia look more modern following the refurb given to them when they transferred from Princess.
Totally agree re the ex Golden and Star ships - P&O did a lovely job with the public spaces. Although the Princess aesthetic of that era is sort of special in that traditional, warm, ornate way. I’ll be checking out Discovery Princess soon, and I think that’ll be a much more modern interpretation, almost like the new Sun!
Adrian, this theatre is NOT anywhere near as nice as the theatres on Royal! I’ve been on Voyager-class, Quantum class and Oasis class…all three have, essentially, Broadway-theatre caliber main theatres…while this looks Much nicer than the ones I’ve seen on Norwegian and Carnival (those look like very large movie theaters, this theatre is just Not the equal of RCL’s standard theater

My mum is on it right now and she's loving it.
This is my favourite class of ship, bar none!
They’re pretty special! And they certainly don’t make them like they used to lol
Just enjoyed a short cruise on her from Melbourne to Adelaide. Great food and service.
Glad to hear you enjoyed your time onboard too.
Thankyou 😊 for a great tour, I have travelled on both the diamond and sapphire princess. Both great ships
Thanks for watching!
I have been waiting for this, you always do good ship tours
Hope you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching.

I love the range of bars and lounges too. So nice to just wander through and find a spot.

Thanks for watching! Stay tuned for more - Discovery Princess might be featured on the channel soon 👀
enjoyed my first Princess Cruise, on the Diamond Princess, in 2019 from Tokyo (Yokohama). Had a great time on the ship.
Amazing memory!
been on four cruises to date but never a princess ship. this one will become my next must
Awesome! Hope you enjoy whenever you try them out.
We have been on Diamond several times when she home ported in 2015 we did a circumnavigation on her and NZ loved her I hope to sail on her again.
That would have been lovely! Perfect ship for a lengthy cruise.
Great tour Adrian. Looks lovely. We're Royal boys but might be worth a try once we get to Diamond 🙂
Thanks! Look forward to hearing what you think when you get the chance to try it 😁

Ha! I know every inch of this ship, agreed the putting area is just terrible, apart from that she is lovely ship.
Thanks for the tour.
Thanks for watching! Yes, thinking they could easily revamp that part lol but it feels very out of the way, I wonder if anyone even finds it
Adrian, you missed the Outriggers Bar again, it's one of the best aft bars on any of the Princess ships.
Had only a short time onboard unfortunately, cobbled it together as best I could!
@@TheCruiseandTravelGuy Understood Adrian. Hence your shots from Grand P. But the Outriggers really is a great bar worthy of a mention.
@@calumshaw hopefully people see your comment 😄

Not at all, very clean and tidy vessel.
There are a lot of similarities with the layout of the P&O Adventure which was the Golden Princess in a previous life also a Grand Class ship.

@neilhadley4722 alot darker though by the looks of it needs some updating of main bars

Ah yes the tiramisu inspired carpets on Princess is um...... hmmm...
Tiramisu! 🤣

Nice ship inside though
She’s quite lovely and warm.
Uuummmm bathing suits allowed at all times😂😂😂 or required
Haha well it’s still gender segregated sooo I actually think, allowed… 🤣

I didn’t say it was lol. I said Royal *Class*. You’ll find that they are not part of the RCI fleet, they’re in fact Princess ships 😅
