It's a exciting time for you Roger. Everything will be alright I'm sure. Just don't get a flat car battery. If things get chilly than put the gas oven on. It's very economical. Have a safe journey and we will see you there.

I’m so excited to watch this video, you guys will be fine, put in an ABBA CD and take your time. Karavan Karen is adorable, I’ve always wanted a European caravan, will be over your way next summer. Keep up the fabulous videos, and happy trails. Cheers

Well done Roger, great video. We've only been away in our caravan 3 times. It does seem nerve racking. it's not that bad. Don't worry, take your time, you seem very methodical anyway. You will make mistakes, it's those that you'll learn from. Don't forget to take some spare 9V batteries. It's always the smoke and carbon monoxide detectors that decide to run out of juice when you don't want them to. Just as important, your motor mover remote will probable use a 9V battery. You don't want that dying when you need it!! Have a great 1st trip.

Well done Roger. Very entertaining, looking forward to your first trip, enjoy yourself. We are on our second year with a touring caravan, it is a trip into the unknown. You'll learn a lot as we did. My advice to you both is take your time and all will be well and everything will work out. Good luck.

The toilet cassette cap has indentations for measuring out 60, 75, and 120ml of toilet fluid, so you do not need a separate measurement cup for toilet chemical.

Hello Roger! We've been watching your videos for a while and, in you last video, the Dunelm throws were an inspiration!! We're off to Henley-on-Thames this coming weekend with Bessie the Swift Basecamp. It's going to be freezing, so we popped out to Dunelm and treated ourselves to a couple of forest green Teddy Fleeces - tried them out indoors and they're fab! Hope your trip goes well :)

I can’t believe caravanning royalty have watched my videos! Things went pretty smoothly getting here and we worked as a team setting up on site with a bit of help from an experienced caravaner.
It’s a bit of a learning curve discovering what works and what doesn’t, what we probably don’t need in the caravan and a few things we need to buy to make life a bit easier next time. I am making a list of things to get and our next trip has already been discussed.
The only thing we can’t control is the weather, but it is nice having an afternoon snooze under our teddy fleece blankets with the rain and wind lashing the sides of our caravan.

Have fun, everything will find its place and after a few trips out you will realise what you really need to have with you. Looking forward to seeing what the caravan park is like. Btw we use the bin in the door of our Moho for keeping slippers and flip flops in :-)

Roger, the cap on the toilet cassette is a measuring device for the chemicals, so no need for a plastic jug !!! Nick T.

Hi Roger, if you squash the toilet roll slightly so that the inner tube is oval shaped it’ll stop it from unravelling when you’re on the move. Also, you may have already set off and found the coat hangers jumped off the rail with the motion of the caravan. You can get special hangers that clip on, or some people have tricks with rubber bands and the like to stop this from happening. We just take our’s off and lie them on the bottom of the wardrobe. Wishing you a good maiden voyage. Looking forward to hearing all about it.

Enjoy yourself Roger, but I must say you seem to be a bit paranoid about weight. Eventually you will realise that it is safe and easier to travel with your drawers and cupboards loaded with the basics, after all that is why you put in non slip mats. Have a good time, keep warm and dry.

FOUR loo rolls for a three day trip? I take it you'll be eating a lot of curry then, and possibly figs for breakfast?

It was a course organised by the Caravan and Motorhome club. We have a nose weight gauge to measure the nose weight.
