- Israel's army says it has seized Gaza's Rafah crossing with Egypt, after continuously bombarding eastern Rafah overnight.
Tanks moved in on the area, a vital entry point for aid, a day after Israel ordered civilians to evacuate the area.
Truce talks meanwhile are to resume in Cairo after Israel said terms which Hamas had agreed to were unacceptable.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rejected it as "far from Israel's basic requirements".
The country's war cabinet voted to continue operations in Rafah, but is however sending a delegation to the talks in Cairo.
Mr Netanyahu's comments came after Hamas said it had accepted truce terms offered by Qatari and Egyptian mediators.
It is not clear exactly what Hamas has agreed to, but it is believed differences lie in wording to do with ending or pausing the war.
"The ball is now in Israel's court," an official in the Palestinian group said.

Because the operation started in the north, so they wanted people to get out the way, so they asked them to go to the south, now they want to finish the job, they are telling them to now get out of the south? More to the point, IDF are telling civilians to get out the way as you just attested to - where as Hamas have not only told the people of Gaza to stay put, but have forced many to stay put - to maximise civilian casualties.

It's horrifying and sad to place missiles in a child's room, under babies, under schools, bombs, to send children as young as 5 to Hamas training camps, to massacre 1500 people, to kidnap 400 Israelis including Arabs as well, to kidnap a baby not even a year old, to snatch him from his mother, to commit atrocities to women on October 7th and also to the captives, to torture for over 6 months. Instead of returning the captives, they claim that the prisoners who committed attacks in Israel against Israelis are also captives, which is delusional. It's sad that they push their children towards IDF soldiers even though the IDF asked to evacuate and waited for weeks. It's madness and terribly sad.

Egypt controlled Gaza after invading Israel - and gave that land, for peace back TO Israel ( not to the Palestinians, because that as an Identity as it is today did not exist ) - Israel had Gaza, there were tens of thousands of Israeli citizens living there and FOR PEACE they offered that land years down the line to the Palestinians, Israel removed all of it's citizens out of there, even left the businesses and massive green houses etc for them to have ( which they burnt down... because - who knows, 'Palestinian things' ? ) all so that the Palestinians could work towards their own statehood, peacefully, side by side with Israel - Instead they turned into a base to which to attack Israel from, which they have done again and again over decades. Israel just recently, in the last 2, 3 days opened up another humanitarian aid corridor to get aid IN to Gaza - the very first convoy was attacked by Hamas, who stole the AID, and shot at Palestinians who tried to take it back from them - they also fired rockets at this convoy. This is nothing new and they have been seen doing this over and over. Get your head out of your ass.

Several weeks ago Hamas gave several demands in regard to a truce agreement and an exchange of hostages and prisoners, couple of weeks of negotiations go by. last week Israel had accepted most of thse demands and put forward their response which contained positive responses to many of Hamas demands and sent them as their counter proposal. this was a test by both Israel and the Americans to see if Hamas was serious in the negotions or just playing for time. Over the weekend Hamas sent a refusal to that proposal saying the the demands by the Israeli side did not meet their expectations even though they knew full well that most of what was in the proposal met their original demands. The Americans were angry so Hamas went back to discuss the agreement and yesterday sent a new response with a many slight changes but it was too much for Israel as it just proved that Hamas is not serious, they are playing with the Palestinians and the hostages just to keep themselves in power and relevant.

The UN's leaders prefer to maintain the Palestinians' refugees status because they get tons of money and power in behalf of the "Palestinian cause".
The UN have 2 refugees agencies - UNHCR for around 100mil refugees around the world, and UNRWA only for the Palestinians.
It's just absurd that the Palestinians still see themselves as refugees for 75 years.
They could already have their own country but their leaders have refused any attempt for peace during the history (including the Oslo and Camp David talks in the 90s and 00s) and have never offered an alternative.
Their "refugees camps" (prior to Oct-7th) are actually proper cities.

Who were captured amidst a massacre where their friends and loved one's were shot down, burned alive, raped and mutilated...
and then there's the other side asking for their 'hostages' who aren't hostages, they have been arrested and imprisoned for actual crimes from agitation, to stabbings and shooting and so on...
So not about equality or supremacy. It's about the law and the lawless.
