Rob, ordering this week thanks to Andrea. Make sure you tell her that she’s the best. Great communication skills and thought of items I didn’t think of. Man she’s awesome.
Thank you Rob for doing a helmet (insert knob gag) Bought my ESB stunt kit at Christmas and guess the time has come to cut some plastic. Cheers for showing the lines to follow and the nuances to look out for... "Firing up the dremel!" (Slowly!) Great work R.S
Hello and good morning my name is kevin how are you doing today my friend, s I'm from Colchester Essex England and I'm a massive starwars fan and I love stormtrooper, s
2:08 "It's got two ears; a left and a right" This is how you can tell it's a Star Wars helmet and not a Star Trek helmet. A Star Trek helmet would have three ears: left, right .... ... and the final front ear! #HereAllWeek
You can find the kit on their website. They have been building helmets for a while, so they are probably so used to the dremel that they know exactly how it affects the plastic, and adjust accordingly. Odds are it does melt slightly, but they just take it slow so it's less melted, and then clean it up with the file.
Not thought about it, I guess we can call it controlled melting. It breaks into dust chunks. We use a low grit sanding bob and speed is usually fast as we have lots to do and never enough time.
Really good but it was hard to see some of the shapes of the cuts, and the close up details. Could you maybe take a few still images and drop them in at the key moments so we can pause and refer to them.

Loved that! How much is the kit? And how do you stop the Dremel from melting the plastic?
