Inside The Episode: Unmortricken | Rick and Morty | adult swim - Фільми й анімація
Definitely wasnt expecting this to be a mid season episode. Seeing Evil Morty's origin was pretty cool too
Yeah, they give him perfect role against Rick Prime
They had to give a lot after losing a lot.
Makes so much sense though, likely what Rick expected to be the biggest moment of his life, but it's just so relatively mundane
Can you spoil his origin please? I don’t have the resources to actually watch the episode unfortunately
@@rp7921 There's no point to reading and you can always pirate it, but since you are asking there isn't exactly an origin, there's just a flashback to him killing a Rick
Edit: yeah and also there's a sort of montage scene where Evil Morty is looking around, R1ck and M0rty UA-cam channel will probably upload it soon though
You know they really hit it out of the park with this one because no one complaints about the voices anymore.
Because the voices are practically the same. People were just complaining because of boredom
@@DetectiveWraith I will argue that it took a few episodes to settle in but now I can’t tell the difference anymore.
@@vmx23 fair enough. I could tell the difference before as well, but it was so small that I just didn’t care. I figured the show would still be good, and I guess I was right.
They're good enough.
@@vmx23it was like when they replaced Leo's voice in TMNT 2012
2:16 "Powerful villains don't just hide from you or fight you, they own you, that's something a real god does" This goes down hard.
Tell that to Kratos in the original God of War lol.
The fact that they just dropped a masterclass of an episode out of nowhere 😂
It's very normal.
That Is honestly the case for all of my favourite rick and morty episodes lol
My theory is that they would have made this the season premiere, but they wanted people to get used to the new voice actors first.
That’s so Rick and Morty though
It's just Rick and Morty stuff, nothing really mind-blowing or masterclass tbh
I've been so impressed with how well this show has resisted milking plotlines. They easily could have milked the Rick Prime story for seasons upon seasons to come, but they chose not to. Respect.
It is nice to see a creator wrap things up without dragging them out, but Dan Harmon has said he doesn't like serials and prefers episodic fun.
Not really. Aren't they still guilty of milking Evil Morty? We were led to believe he was gone for good two seasons ago. Now they just confirmed that he is the overall threat of this series.
@zerofudou5689 It wasn't really milking as it was not really knowing what to do with him. He was never intended to be seen again after the first season, but people really liked him.
@@zerofudou5689I’m almost dead certain that they stated beforehand evil Morty would return after his whole departure episode (I’ll find the source if you really want me to) but yeah I think that was always planned
They kind of milked it but only in hind sight. Once it's conscious they immediately tear it down.
Arguably one of the best episodes of the entire series, they really pulled out all the stops for this one.
Arguably one of the best episodes of the entire show, hands down.
One of the best of the entire series. So insanely dense. Would require like 4 viewings and a lot of pausing to properly absorb everything that happens.
*Stops. You pull out all the stops if you go "maximum effort." Pulling strings is using connections to achieve an edge.
ONE of? the SEASON? and only ARGUABLY?
Ma man I was debating if this is my favourite episode in the entire show or not. arguably one of the best in the season is WAY underselling it.
Best episode overall ngl
Such a well-done episode. It's the first time I've been genuinely curious about where they take the overarching story from here since season 2.
@@jinx3449i think in the end that clock woman accepted the death of her husband cause she found an alien husband. Basically if rick got the good timeline
@@jinx3449the point of that post credits scene was to show that slow mobius’ wife could have went down the same long road looking for vengeance, and started that way, but was able to move on, in a way Rick hasn’t (so far)
Rick needs a new woman. That’s not to say we should just replace loved ones that pass on, but when it comes to vengeance/revenge the message here is something like “to live well is the best revenge”
Dude literally my emotions. Exactly season 2. 3-6 were shitshow, and now there's a good episode
@@DuskLegend The interesting thing is that Rick ACTUALLY found the next love of his life while looking for vengeance, but his own toxicity made impossible the relation to flourish (and the thing that the love of his live is a hive-mind)
@@DuskLegend I agree with your statement
I really like they did it as a midseason episode. Really makes it more about how Rick lives the rest of his life. Also really liked the post credit scene, you think she's gonna go on some Rick like revenge rampage, but instead she found some one special. She didn't forget, but she did move on, which Rick has to do now.
Having it as a season ender would have raised the same issue, but I guess they wanted to dive in right away.
I just question the pacing of this season - it has a weird flow. Basically 3 character updates, a normal update, then a big universe changing episode.
@@recoil53Episode 3 kind of put this all into a lineup by having Rick see his therapist more and being more open etc its going to be a emotional drama on the coping of achievement. Its like when Dicaprio won the oscar you could see it in his face... LOL
@@h3ck774 I've been saying that the Dr Wong ep was about setting up post-revenge Rick, but killing Rick Prime would have worked better with more build up.
Then the ending with Rick in a haze is like when he turned himself in to the Galactic Federation.
I think the quality of the episodes are fine, just the order messes with the impact.
This felt as though it should’ve been the season finale. Possibly even the series finale
But that’s one thing that made it so good; we never saw it coming
I was only hoping for Prime to get an episode to himself before the showdown.
@@EternalStorm796that may be next episode
@@EternalStorm796we might get a backstory episode or flashback
It wouldn't be a very good series finally imo, that would sorta undercut the whole point of the episode and the ACTUAL overarching plot of character growth. Rick is learning to deal with consequences more and more prime rick's death |may| be the climax of his arc but that still leaves a whole act to follow and doesn't really provide an kind of closure.
I think they did it in the middle so they could explore what comes after the revenge. Without waiting a whole year to make another season
This episode was brilliant, although I’m surprised they brought the whole Rick Prime story to a close half way through Season 7, I was expecting it to be the season 7 finale. But either way, Awesome episode
That is the thing about rick and morty it does not follow the standard season story arc, big plots can happen and drop at any point of the season and we would not see it.
He prolly not even dead
Yeah, if this happens mid season, what kind of wild show will we get for a finale?
@@cyrusc1374a clone maybe?
Can I just say that Rick and Morty's new actors were absolutely flawless in this episode and perfectly nailed Roiland's original voices?
They were much better than the other episodes for some reason
Evil Morty's final lines of the episode when he started getting loud were a bit off. Still good, just off a bit.
They were great but couldn't they also experiment with AI voices as an alternative?
It's gonna be very interesting to see where Rick's story and the show goes from here. He has seemingly gotten his revenge but it's clearly not satisfying to him because ultimately nothing has changed. His Diane and Beth are still gone and he still feels empty.
Crazy episode.
His next nemesis is gonna be Jerry from the doofus universe
I think I can see how this show is going to wrap.
I feel like the ultimate ending is he will off himself sound crazy but like you said no more vengeance and i dont think hell find a proper replacement for that drive which will ultimately be his ending if they go dark with it
With the next episode dealing with the aftermath Rick is in a state of “where do I go from here?”
I really appreciate that they pulled back on the meta commentary without a “now everybody can shut up about it” line, and just let this episode be exciting for everyone that’s invested in the overarching storyline
It’s almost like that’s how it should have been and ironic meta (postmodernism essentially) has corrupted art
@@DuskLegend they definitely picked up on that fact in between seasons 6 and 7, which ironically makes the new voice acting of Rick and Morty go down easier for me. My brain associates Justin Roiland’s tone with the meta jokes and the new voices with a fresher approach
@@mr.greasy6483I’m sure Rolland or however you spell it held the show back by maintaining the status quo through exhausting meta humor. Now an actual story can be told .
Bro to much Shapiro?
@@Thebasedminority I feel like a lot of it was Dan Harmon but regardless, we’re seeing less of it which is nice
It actually took a lot of balls for the writers to kill Rick Prime off. Actually that's such a Harmon thing to do, make a permanent change. Other shows would keep Rick Prime alive to give something for Rick to chase down but not here. Harmon loves writing his shows into a corner only to get out of it in a fantastical way. Great writing team. Can't wait to see where they take us next.
Honestly I'm just really glad that they finally did a serious episode related to the continuity of the show without being all like "haha guys continuity sucks! we're doing this so everyone can stop asking us for lore stuff!"
The question is, did they write him off too soon. I thought the Rick Prime story separated this from other shows. Now, are we just going to get random Rick and Morty adventures? Idk how long that can last
@@P_Scott it’s a Dan Harmon show. There’s never a status quo. The characters will continue to grow and evolve. Sorry if you were hoping for something more typical.
I really liked the post credits scene. Saying that all you need to be happy again is to let go, move on, and maybe find someone else to do it with you.
True, the two others that moved on but not forget them
I mean there was Unity
What defeats this argument is the fact that Rick Prime would've continued maurading across the multiverse, doing to others what he did to C137, or worse. He did the multiverse at large a favor by taking him out of the equation, but he never did it for those reasons.
So no, C137 was right to persue Rick Prime, he just let it consume everything around him..
The look on Ricks face after succeeding...is that how one feels after accomplishing the one thing that defines ones existence 😢
To steal a line of Ricks from last season “How does it feel to achieve your dreams? Empty, right? Like when DiCaprio won the Oscar. You could see it in his face”
He realize he spent his entire life hunting for this man and went through so much because of him. Some
good and some bad. Now he got his anger and revenge out. He basically has no purpose for now except maybe worrying about Evil Morty and the omega device
The sad part about it is that had Rick been able to kill Rick Prime a lot sooner, say 5 years into searching, he would have been vindicated. He would have accomplished his goal and been able to move on and create a new life for himself.
@@salza2729 from what we saw, looks like Evil Morty is harmless, just don't go after him.
This is going to sound sexist, but women would just move on to the next thing. There would be no full satiation. I think it is somewhat unrealistic that Rick isn't somewhat content and satisfied. Whether the goal was something positive or something "negative", like killing your nemesis, one would find contentment. If the goal was to bring Diane back to life and he did that, would he sit unfulfilled? Revenge is a real and satisfying goal, and I think it's weird that a lot of art and philosophy tries to make that seem untrue. People like Rocky 3 and 4 for a reason.
I love how in the ending, the only thing that managed to make Rick crack a smile, was the opportunity to rip on Jerry
Great episode to introduce how much of a genius Evil Morty is. He follows the idea of integrating technology into his body augmenting himself to be powerful.
Even Fighting Against Rick Prime Evil Morty So calm and Chill that's why I love Evil Morty to be a Villain
He is basically the new David Zanathos no matter what our heros do he always wins.
@@dozkiller8703 He hints that he may team up with Rick in the future.
Evil Morty was so chill its scary. He wouldn't have been able to beat rick prime on his own. But he's only 14! I can't imagine what a 30yr old evil Morty would look like.
@@DaWhisperwe got a look at a 26 year old morty
Not gonna lie, but this may be one of the bests episodes of Season 7. It’s great to see Evil Morty back and I’m glad that Rick finally got his revenge on Rick Prime. Wonder what’s next for him now that he’s completed his mission and killed his nemesis.
I doubt hes dead. He has a healing factor comparable to Wolverine from X. Mem.
@@HectorEvilmanhmm i guess that would make sense but didnt they kinda milk prime for a few seasons? but i would still really love if he actually came back tbh
@@neillaallien4989They definitely didn't milk him.
@@JackLackSack Yeah, he only appeared 4 times, including this episode. They could do a lot more with this character
@@HectorEvilman "evil" morty disabled all of his tech that's what he was doing before he dragged rick in there
I think this is the most meta episode of all. Just like the placement of this episode, Rick’s lifelong version of hunting Prime came to an end. In the middle of a season. He achieved his big goal and that’s it. Both Rick and the viewers are feeling emptiness, we finally got our epic showdown but was it really worth it?
It's honestly genius to abruptly end the chase out of nowhere. This season is feeling like season 2 and it's great to see
Best episode of the season. Evil Morty for the win.
Evil Morty for the LOSE
yes!!!
After genocide he did in The Citadel of Rick? Not really
He almost no different than Rick Prime because he also the bad guy and that's why he called evil
But let's not hope he didn't become serious threat in the future
Because our MC probably would kill him to stop his evil plan
He isnt evil he is more of an anti hero.. he killed those ricks because theyre the smartest ricks that could foil his plan on achieving peace.
@@MinoTaurus205Neither Rick or Evil Morty care. They both have better things to do than get in each other’s way.
I love that Rick Prime looks absolutely no different decades later.
I can’t believe that they took care of Rick Prime THIS early… and in only a SINGLE episode after all the buildup… but I agree that Evil Morty is a much more intriguing villain.
Eager to see where things go from here. Evil Morty does seem like he’s willing to leave well enough alone - so long as he himself is left alone - but I do wonder what’s going to end up provoking him to use the Omega Device. You know it’s coming!
I think he’s just gonna use the omega device to threaten our Rick and Morty to do whatever he wants. He is now the most powerful person in the multiverse/dimensions now. Which is a push a finger he can kill anyone and nobody can stop him. But he’s not interested in killing anyone. He just wants to be left alone and living in peace.
This is a top 5 episode for the series. Masterful. The writers appear to have really gotten back to form with Rick and Morty in the latest couple episodes. Certainly an improvement over some of the episodes from Season 6 and the first couple in Season 7.
You know (most of) why you feel that way? Because this episode let this show have a grand story, and not just episodic gags. Which can be fun sometimes, but everything should be building up toward something
Honestly as someone who does a lot of his own writing, this threw me for a loop. It really felt like a big enough premise to make the whole show about this one dynamic, and it was kind of concluded defiantly. Like you guys KNEW we all expected it to be a season or even series finale, but it just ultimately is just another arc.
The bit where we got to see morty exploring the dimension where EVERYONE had a portal gun was fascinating. It made me wonder "how many interdimensional travelers does it take for the entire multiverse to collapse?" Eventually there gotta be enough paradoxes to make this a bigger problem. It's also kind of chilling that 'evil' morty is enduring that constant hell, and yet is content (as far as we know).
but what really stood out to me was the end credits sequence with slow mobius's family, and how this story doesn't HAVE to be the cynical, toxic revenge trip that it ended up as. mirroring rick's 'tragic crybaby backstory' just to show the backstory isn't special or original, but how we handle the aftermath can be.
Such a incredibly fast pace episode. Evil Morty was straight up badass while not givin a F.
I honedtly loved this episode so so much!!! I think it was extra good cause they didn't really show us a lot in the preview for this episode so it was a total surprise! Voice actors are still doing amazing! I can't wait to see where they go with this now and hopefully we still maybe in the future get to still peek in on what evil morty does here and there
Harry Belden's Morty voice REALLY stood out in this episode. He sounded like someone doing an impression of Morty instead of sounding like Morty. This is the first episode where is stood out a lot.
eh they well get it in time just needs practice. It isn't the end of the world lol @@SupraViperhead
Definetely the best episode in the whole series! All the lore comes down to rick punching his nemesis to death. Evil Morty continues the lore by achieving everything that rick prime did and making it much better and we will probably see him in a future episode as ricks new nemesis.
I think Diane not existing across all infinity was such a sick but well set up reveal. I always wondered by we never saw her ever outside of the flashbacks.
I absolutely loved the brother-sister relationship troup that Evil Morty lays down at the end. Summer is the best.
Rick killing Prime was just, underwhelming, to say the least, but I guess that was the point. It was as underwhelming for us as it is for Rick.
Most epic, unexpected, badass, and emotional episode I have seen for Rick and Morty so far and the evil morty voice was spot on I loved this episode can't wait to see what else is instore for the rest of the season and beyond. So far I like the voice actor for Rick and Morty and the episodes been good concept stories and this new episode was the best in story Canon. The show can go on honestly for its good in its own right Hopefully we get the anime version as well looking forward to it even more.
really wished this coulda been a 2 parter. imagine how crazy the ending would have been to the first part when it's revealed we just watched the origin story of Evil Morty when we thought it was just another ho hum episode of our Rick and our Morty. then the 2nd part, the encounter with Evil Rick, could have been more drawn out and made much more epic. such an epic event with epic characters that just felt too rushed imo.
Can't wait to get this season on blu-ray also someone give props to the guy that only killed 3 clones quite impressive he got close really fast
Who?
@@extraterrestrialcontent it was the last rick standing in the chamber besides our own
Lmaoooooooo
@@bobnoko9105 I think that it's matter of chance to kill the "right clone" if you go one by one after them unlike our Rick.
I'm kinda glad that Rick Prime was dealt with mid-season and that the more compelling Evil Morty is being set up as the bigger threat
You sure about that? He just wants to be left alone. You need to rewatch older episodes. "Evil" Morty isn't evil.
Yeah, he just wants to be left alone. I’m order for the weapon to allow that, he’d have to kill everyone but himself, and even then mortise would hunt him down.
@@alainchristianevil morty IS the villain of the show. Which means that even if he doesn't care about Rick, there will be one point where his ideals will crash with him and he will personally take care about Rick and morty. He even said that he will put Rick for a good use in the future
@@mohamedlamin2968 If I call you "evil" does that make you evil?

This episode is not only a masterclass but it fits so squarely perfect as a mid-season episode because now we get to see the true rick. If hes the rickest rick, who is he without his nemesis? Is he even still Rick?
the entire episode left me speechless.. this felt more like a finale than anything, I have no idea what they're going to do in the remaining 3 seasons, I thought Rick Prime would be it
Rick prime would of been a great series finale, wonder how they will top this.
Maybe our rick is the ultimate final boss.him becoming what he hates the most a guy like rick prime.
@@aissaaissa3080maybe if he instigates a conflict with evil Morty in the last season we’ll/he’ll realize that he’s the big bad villain now, he “lived long enough to see himself become the villain” and all that
Rick already slaughtered countless Ricks and destroyed the Citadel, in his own right (along with the Galactic Federation). The other Ricks had created the Citadel because of him. Not sure he has anything to prove regarding how bad he is. He also has some semblance of a conscience, and a family (who he brought with him). It would be a letdown if he devolved into Rick Prime 2.0
Don't forget Doofus Jerry and Evil Morty
For the rest of his "short life". That's definitely foreshadowing right there. We all know that if Rick wants to live forever, he can definitely find a way to do so.
What I love is that despite C-137 having no joy/purpose the only thing he still engaged in actively was poking fun at Jerry at the dinner table.
This is the best episode in the whole series imo,I love it so much!
How does this season keep getting better and better so much? I'm afraid that they will set the bar too high for themselves.
After seeing the writers I can tell why the episode was so good!
This episode is like a finale. It’ll age like fine wine.
This was a fantastic end to this story! Was so surprised to see it here and loved every bit of it, especially the hollowness Rick feels at the end as he doesn't know who he is or what he wants anymore. Great season!
Probably the best and most impactful episode of the show for me, the ending plus the post credits were brutally bittersweet
I find it interesting that its revealed only two ricks in the entire multiverse ever figured out portal technology on their own. Really does put into perspective that our rick and rick prime were one in a million above everyonr else
A truly amazing episode and a great concept! One saga is over and a new one begins. I've always wondered why can't Rick just find Diane in another Universe or travel in time or clone her and I am glad that this was explained. Sadly, that means we will never see her. And now we can see what will happen to Rick when he finally accomplished his life goal and how he is going to continue his life. Also, "Evil" Morty will be present and important in the future, possessing one of the most powerful weapons in the Multiverse, which is very exciting. Nonetheless, the end credits showed us a parallel to Rick's mission and proved that you don't really need revenge, because that isn't going to change anything. You just need someone who will help you to move on and find happiness. But still, Rick's decisions were completely justified and I would do the same. I am looking forward to the new episodes with high interest and little patience! 💙
Easily one of the best episodes of entire show. I have been sitting on the edge of the couch for entire runtime of that ep :D
This Might be the greatest rick and morty episode of all time every single second was full of pure greatness , DAN HARMON YOU HAVE DONE IT AGAIN😭
This episode was great. It feels like theyve been thinking about for a while. Glad they finally tied up a bunch of the loose ends to round out the old towards the new
Incredible to see the end of Rick Prime. I wish we had more backstory of him because the consequences of his actions affected Ricks and the rest of family members across infinity. The Citadel, the Curve etc...
This is exactly how this episode needed to be. Getting to the destination you’ve longed for sometimes isn’t all you expect to be. Sometimes it’s anticlimactic and just there. The in between commentary by evil Morty when they finally took Rick Prime down I think is where we will finally lead to the consequences of every action he did chasing Prime throughout the multiuniverse and what it left behind. New villains will undoubtedly rise.
One of the best episodes of the entire series. Definitely.
Man, can't believe it's been seven seasons already. Time really flies, huh? Used to watch Rick and Morty with my best bud, totally blazed and wasted. It's crazy knowing how Rick and Morty is one show when you’re high and a whole nother when you are sober. It just hits different when you're high compared to being sober. I don’t live with my friend anymore, so now it's just me watching it solo. But now I know those memories are stuck in my head, and I'll always remember those good times, cherish them till death. Thank you, Rick and Morty! 🚀❤
This is the BEST episode of all!! The action! The animation! The emotional Impact!! Prefect!
i honestly love the trope of someone accomplishing their one primary goal and having little to no purpose afterwards
Certainly one of the best episodes of the entire series. It wouldn’t have been possible without all the backstory, all the writing, all the amazing animation. Can’t wait to see what’s next!
I love the fact the did this mid season. It really brings home the old addege of revenge and how it really doesn’t fix anything. Sure it'll feel good in the moment, but long term it changes nothing.
This episode was amazing! How is it that I am MORE excited for the rest of the season than I was for Rick Prime?? 😂
*I refuse to think Rick Prime died so easily.*
I feel like he will come back in the season finale
He prolly has another clone, or that one was a... DECOY???
It only seems easy because it "happened" in the span of one episode. But that's discounting all the effort that has led up to this moment, both on-screen and off-screen. I can't say for sure where the writers are going with this, but from a narrative standpoint, it doesn't make sense to bring him back, at least not without an extremely good reason. That would be very sloppy writing.
I feel the same, i think in my opionion of course, that it would have been better if rick got to have his real 1 on 1 fight, but at the very end have prime get away... this way it shows rick got really close to success but still fails, allowing the ark to continue.
I completely forgot that they had new voice actors. They both did phenomenal this episode.
I’m glad they didn’t just keep putting this off until the very end of the show, now we get to see how Rick can actually start to evolve and grow as a person throughout the rest of the planned seasons
If the new Rick voice didnt had won me over before, this episode finally did it. He really sold the intensity of Ricks feelings, the rage of our Rick and the sadistic, sarcastic disdain of Rick Prime.
One of the best episodes of the entire series. The fact that it's not some big finale and just sort of a random mid season episode actually makes it all the better too, because the whole thing is about the lack of catharsis in revenge, the pointlessness of it all.
its nice to see them give the audience what they want instead of treating us like were stupid for wanting it like in the earlier seasons
Incredible TV, 10 years of Rick and Morty just like that. Entertainment at its finest
Great episodes and the voice acting is fine now. Didn't even think about it at all when i watched. The VAs are really gonna grow into their roles. Can't wait until they can voice their own stuff that Roiland wasn't involved in.
exactly people dont realize Roland was still supposed to be the VA's for this seasons and how long it takes for writers to get into the shoes of a character especially one thats already established id argue they are already better then Season 1 Rick and Morty.h
This episode honestly solidified the new voice for Rick. The extra raspiness of the voice honestly makes it so much better. Brilliant performances from both new voice actors, honestly makes me glad Justin Roiland is gone
Es el mejor episodio definitivamente se merece su éxito, Una joya
This episode broke all the rules in character design and story They gave Rick what he wanted
What I love about this show is that important lore stuff can happen at any time. Like, yeah season premiers and finales are where it is likely to happen, but we got Evil Morty's origin, AND Rick finding and killing prime halfway through the season.
The moment the eyepatch came out in the cold open i had a nonstop grin for the rest of the episode. Literally 15 seconds in and it became my favorite episode of the series
this was a excellent episode well done Dan (Done Dan should be a character in the show)
Edit : Don Dan is funnier
Kinda like how Justin was his own self insert
@@moist_onions Rick is arguably Justin’s insert
I love that this was the response to all doubts about the direction of the show: they just gave us a climax and now the directions are limitless
I really don"t think that guy is dead, it felt really easy for him. I have a feeling they're hiding some details that would reveal a bigger climax
I don't think a Rick & Morty episode has caught me off guard like this since the infamous April Fool's Day shadow drop. What an absolute ride.
Serious series-final energy, not the kind of episode I would have ever expected to see in the mid-season. Excited to see where they can go from here.
Watching this episode only lasted about 3 minutes for me. I enjoyed it so much it just went by in a flash. I remember the credits rolling and thinking that wasn't very long. Great episode.
It was the best episode of a TV series I've ever watched in my life.
Cannot believe how good this episode was! So surprised but it’s top 5 for me
The BEST episode of the whole series. And special thanks to the scriptwriter for slowly revealing the story through all those seasons, and then dropping the bomb all of a sudden, thats some good storytelling. I wish mainstream movies nowadays had such kind of suspense, plottwists and villains.
This episode was really brilliant I can't believe they dropped it outta nowhere
A lot of people are pointing out how this would have been a perfect premier or finale but i think that being aired mid season is part of the message. This isnt the end of anything, it doesnt change anything for Ricks daily life either, he just has more free time now. We get to sit in awkwardness with him thinking "it all builded up to this... now what?"
Fr that's what I thought cos rick often breaks the fourth wall by mentioning seasons and episode numbers - I think he wasn't expecting this in episode 5, so he's kinda in shell shock thinking the one canon episode per season was a few weeks away
@@xandergooderson5575 oh yeah! Hadn't thought of that! If he is aware of the episodes, that makes it all the more dreading for him.
This was one of my favorite episodes so far. I knew Harmon would take us into the characters more since Justin was too afraid of taking things serious.
They are really turning him into Kratos this season.
Choosing vengeance, avenging his dead wife and daughter, realising it probably did more harm than good and understanding that it didn't fix anything.
I mean, I like it, it's just kinda weird haha.
Best episode of the season. Hands down. Rick finally gets his revenge against Rick Prime, and Evil Morty is BOSS.
I really appreciated the bare knuckle death beatdown. I don't think any other method could've properly conveyed Rick's raw animalistic rage. There was nothing left to say or think about or plan, he just needed to feel this guy's death as he came apart bit by bit, blow by blow. Let's face it, we all wanted to punch Rick Prime in the face at some point, Rick punched him for all of us.
Also the death wasnt necesarily satisfying becuse it wasnt satisfying or planned. Even though Rick devoded his life to killimg prime his death isnt a "finally" but a "what now?" Thing
Goood episode, finally. Three seasons of... Metajokes, self-references and extra teenage level cynicism. And finally something equally good as first and second seasons. And wholesome after the credit full story masterpiece. I was literally waiting episode like this for six or whatever years.
P.s. farewell justin roiland, thanks for the start up of the show, but i will never miss you, sorry.
After killing the boss of the series, this episode gived me the feeling of emptiness like what rick had .brilliant writing and a great episode.
Definitely One of the Best episodes in the entire Series of Rick and Morty this Season is Great
I always knew Evil Morty was smarter than ANY Rick. He's outsmarted & nearly killed Rick more than any of his other Villians.
Mr nimbus
Which is strange because he came from the finite curve. Those collection of universes should only have Ricks as the smartest.
@@ixiahjhe might be a bug in the system, the outlire like toji and maki from jujutsu kaisen, he breaks all logic you thought the system is based on. At least that's how I like to think about it
Easily one of the (if not THE best) episodes of the show.
Was a thrillride from start to end and that opening where we see Evil Morty's origin is just simply amazing!
It is really an amazing episode, didn't expect it mid season.
Thank you for dropping this awesome ep...loved evil morty
This episode is easily top 5. This was amazing.
Outstanding episode. Everything I could have hoped for.
This is one of the most powerful cartoon sagas ever made.
It brought me back to Weirdmaggedon, in terms of scope and stakes. A rare feeling. A powerful feeling.
And to have this kinda dropped on me and my buddy, who were expecting a humble episode. I mean, after the past three episodes, we were expecting something awesome, but seeing Evil Morty attack Drunk Rick in a mid-season episode was the most jaw dropping feeling.
It was over a discord call, but it was like, we both looked at each other in spirit, like, "OH YEAH, THIS IS HAPPENING"
I do love Gravity Falls, but Weirdmageddon didn’t feel as impactful as an episode like “Not What He Seems” or something. It felt too loosey-goosey, too light-hearted for what was supposed to be the big bad trilogy finale. Not to say I didn’t like it, but I wouldn’t compare these two
Best Ricky and Morty episode ever.
This episode was so raw and so well done. I was spiraling for hours afterwards.
Masterpiece! When you create any piece of content you want it to get to this point… you want to show the real meaning of the main characters goal and the supposedly end of the line.
