Oh, there's definitely more than 6 - four 'normal' Panthers in the tech tree, the Panther II, the War Crime Panther, the AA Panther, and now the Prototype Panther. Definitely a series that needed expanding on instead of giving other nations a new tank.
Alright let's count all the panthers. Panther D Panther A Panther F Panther G Panther II Flakpanzer 341 Eratz M10 Note: I'm not counting the jagd Panthers or the Panthers in other trees this is just the German TT.

VK 30.02 (M) in nutshell: -Got really horrible turret traverse -Got really horrible reverse speed -Got really weird armor like it either bounce or everything goes through -Got niche speed -And last its got a Panther gun so at 5.0BR its basically pen everything

I'll bet most of it will go in the premium tree where it disappeares into obscurity just like the other "battle pass" and premium tanks that that could've been added to the tech tree

However the amx13 on 6.3 is the first to get actually good shells at that br. Also speaking about Op guns how about a little role call just so all family members are present? 122mm, check 57mm check, 88 mm check, 128mm check, 76.2mm check, 105mm on the m51s check, Litteraly all guns that fire heatfs with more than 300mm of Penn below 7.0 (including the German, Japanese, American and Italian 90mms, the American and soviet 76mm OS the t92 and pt76 respectively, the lekpz m41, and so on and so on) check on that one as well. Dont pretend like the l70 is the only undertiered gun here and it's by far not the worst offender

The soviet 122 isnt really op, remember that it is a game and that a super long reload isnt really meta against good players. 57mm can be too strong sometimes and it has a really good reload, T34 57 could be 5.0 imo. German short 88 is quite balanced, the tiger H could be 5.7 but german players are a thing. 128mm has the same issue that the 122 has and the sturer emil is only useful on really specific conditions that rarely show up. The M10 and the m4a1 76 are criminally undertiered, totally agree. The 105 on the m51 isnt that good (it has 800 m/s velocity, the one on the amx 30 gets 1000 m/s), its too good against ww2 heavy tanks but at the end of the day you are still a sherman that ends up against stuff that can simply toy with you. Armor isnt meta, warthunder players simply dont get it. If you want to talk about insanely op and overperforming guns you have to mention the soviet 85mm, it gets better angled pen than pretty much anything at its br and its pretty much always a one shot if it pens, totally broken.
I made 3. 1 with the kw1c and the vk and a bunch of planes, 2. I just added it to my normal 5.3 and 3rd I made a vk lineup with my 5.3 vk45. 01p and 5.0 vk30. 02m

The worst thing is that, this isn't too far of the Ausf. D in terms of performance, so I can see it getting uptiered to 5.3 and thus, making its addtion pointless. I didn't see any problem with the gap that existed between the last Pz III and the first Panther, late Pz IVs were there to fill it (before they got dropped 0.7-1.0 in BR and moved to tier II for some reason 💀, seriously, they were perfectly fine at 4.0/4.3)
This thing is a lower br than 76 shermans with a higher top speed, more maneuverability, neutral steering, better acceleration, better pen, more armor, better presentation of armor
I mean... VK30 is just a lighter panther with less armor Seems like comparing two T-34s from beginning and late production...but the cannon is much stronger at lower battle ratings So you get the equivament Pz.IV F2 from 3.3 but more tweaked at 5.0 which
setting Pz IV F2 as equivalent analogy to VK and Panther D. ECS FUCKING DE Premium german KV-1 is set on 5.0 too, has less armor, and worse gun. This tank can litteraly carry the team on 5.7. VK is direct upgrade, has much more sloped armor, and far more better gun, making it basically ultimate sniper tank on 5.0. You are going to get pummeled by this, 100% of the times. Especially when you are getting into consideration, that pretty much the same gun operates as far, as 6.0BR, at which point there is nothing really there with enough armor to withstand one shot bullets from VK. VK will be uptiered to 5.3, beacuse thats the place for this tank. Everything below is just straight out bullshit.
They cannot put it higher/On par with Panther D,because is just better,so they would need to revert the changes and have it on 5.7 (And VK could comfrtably seat at 5.3 with the likes of pz IV/70) Panther guns are exactly the same across all that have it,its just the fact that it faces weaker by 0.3 tanks Panther D has 210 mm of effective thickness at 55 degree angle while VK has 144 mm effective thickness at the exact same angle VK has a slight advantage in horse per ton ratio with 16.4 while the D has 14.4 But generally..to fix VK they would need to fix the other panthers BRs,but the devs balance a tank on its performance by the general playerbase,not by how well it can do,and with the poor german playerbase its not gonna get changed quickly

Not like it has that much of a disadvantage in a 5.3 line-up. You can still angle it when next to a wall and it's faster than the other Panthers.
