Polunin is very intense ..very wonderful to watch ..so young and very successful ......I read about him that he left the Royal Ballet saying :" he had become so unhappy that, "the artist in me was dying " I was wondering what made him so unhappy .....
We should not speculate without knowing a person. But we often do. I could say that life in London can indeed be horrendous for the soul and each of us have a place or country where we feel "right". Maybe London, and the ROH, was not for Sergei. He said he felt happy in Moscow and ... Novosibirsk. He is fortunate enough to have been able to make the choice, even though at the time he was not aiming to return to Russia straight away.
