    Good review! You gave a fair an honest review of this show.

      Thanks Jacob! I’m hoping this grows on me with rewatches, so I can love it alongside all the other Star Wars I love 😂

    I enjoyed it, but had some issues with certain parts (fraternal twins do not grow up to be identical twins, and how did that little fire blow up an entire mountain with SO many powerful women? Those annoyed me)😂. It could have been better, but like you said; my childhood was not ruined like some people are saying. Nice honest review!

    I can’t comment too much on this as I haven’t seen the show but it was great hearing your thoughts. It is a shame that a show that is focused mainly on Jedi which to me sounds like it could’ve been the best show ever was wasted and missed opportunity.

    I can admit that overall, this show was lackluster for me. I was excited, but they offed some of the best/most hyped characters way too early. The story was all over the place, and some things genuinely made zero sense. It’s kind of like they were grabbing at straws sometimes for ideas when they had a plethora to choose from.
    Furthermore, some character decisions (obviously due to writing) made zero sense as well! All around just needed better writing and direction. But there were elements I did enjoy

    That ending was so bad it really ruined the show. They did Sol so dirty. Character decisions make no sense. Also too many filler episodes in an 8 episode season.

      While I don’t think the ending was as bad as you, I do agree that they did Sol dirty. More so, they got rid of yet another character that could’ve added to a future season. As for the filler you refer to, I’d have to disagree. I don’t think the show had any filler episodes, as you can’t remove any episodes from the season without losing story. However, I wish that time in each episode had be better used.

    I definitely disliked the show more than you did Anthony, but this is a really great review! Extremely fair

      Thanks man! Sorry to hear you weren’t a fan, but I appreciate the kind words!

    Not the misleading marketing with the Jedi! Yikes. I saw a clip of a scene where Master Sol has a shocking moment with Aniseya, but it mainly left me scratching my head.
    I was excited for this initially, but my appreciation for the Darth Bane trilogy kept me from seeing this. A Sith story becoming such a cluster-you-know-what on a basic storytelling level? Yikes.
    I know better than to play into the extreme rage of some fans, but if there was any Star Wars series I could have loved to see succeed, it would have been this one.

      @@DMovieman trust me, I was thrilled at the idea and timeframe that this show takes place in. I’m hoping for more from season two! As for Darth Bane, at least that’s during the Old Republic, so that’s way before the events of this show.

    • @DMovieman
      @DMovieman Місяць тому

      @@AnthonyAPerez Oh, no. I'm clear on the timeline. I'm just saying that trilogy was such a wonderful and immersive experience, which made me excited to see other stories from the perspective of the Sith, especially on-screen.
      Hence my joy when this was first announced. So, once I realized how this particular story was actually being handled, I decided to steer clear. Maybe I'll circle back around depending how the next season develops.

    It’s the “season one” title that’s really upsetting. Implying there will be more -.-

    • @AnthonyAPerez
      @AnthonyAPerez  Місяць тому +1

      @@theorigamirhino There’s already been discussions of a follow up. I’d be really surprised if they just end the story here. For whatever hate the show received, it did huge numbers online. Whether people watched it out of curiosity or hate watching, it did well viewership wise. It was also hugely discussed every week, for better or worse.

    • @Noqtis
      @Noqtis Місяць тому

      @@AnthonyAPerez nope, it didn't. it has worse numbers than andor and is the least ever watched star wars show

    • @AnthonyAPerez
      @AnthonyAPerez  Місяць тому

      @@Noqtis Sure, but you’re thinking about it compared to other Star Wars projects. I’m thinking about it as a singular project on Disney+. In comparison to other shows and movies released on Disney+, not Star Wars related, its numbers were still of a successful show in today’s streaming world. The likelihood of them completely scrapping a second season is low.

    • @Noqtis
      @Noqtis Місяць тому

      @@AnthonyAPerez those other shows don't cost 180 million in production and the same in marketing. Obviously the numbers of a show that got mass promoted around the whole world is better than some nieche disney+ show only fans even know about.
      Those also don't really compete against each other.
      Andor, book of boba fett and obi-wan all did better than the shows you are comparing acolyte to. Thosr shows did even better than acolyte and costed more money and not a single one got a second season. Because shows at that size don't need a big audience but a massive one or they are considered failures. If acolyte gets a second season, than only because Disney wants to lose more money.
      Next they gonna sit on dead Acolyte merch for years just because of the first season. It had a way to small audience and not enough memorable characters to sell toys. Hell, it wasn't even that kids friendly so I don't see how even many kids watched it. And the minutes watched show, only a minority was into the show and the longer it went on the more people dropped off. It couldn't hold attention at all. 5% of people who started watching saw the last episode. If this is a success the biggest failures in movie history are successes now. You just have to beat a low budget production with a 180 million dollar one. That's easy.

    Fair review. For me, the second half of the season was stronger than the beginning.
    For the record, 10:17 the showrunner didn't come out and say this was a "gay" Star Wars show, she was asked that in an interview. What was she supposed to say there? This is how the rage bait commentary around the show warped normal discourse.

    • @AnthonyAPerez
      @AnthonyAPerez  Місяць тому +1

      Thanks for watching and chiming in! I’m glad you hear you enjoyed the last half more. I definitely enjoyed the action on the back end more, but I just wish the story connected with me more. Perhaps on rewatches.
      And I guess I should’ve expanded upon that more. I’m definitely not trying to play into the rage baiters.

      @@AnthonyAPerez I stumbled on the What the Force podcast that broke down the characters and the story framework of the show right from the beginning. It pulls a lot from a French fairy tale called Bluebeard, as well as Greek and African mythology. Once you see it, you can't unsee it. I thought it was brilliant but I completely understand why many people don't vibe with it.
