  • I visit Saltram Park, and have a look inside the house, which was decorated for Christmas at the time of my visit.

Didn't know about this house. Lovely interior and yes those Christmas Trees were quite a marvel.

Thank you Alice! Yes, it is well worth a few hours explore if you are ever in the West Devon, or South East Cornwall areas. Unfortunately, because the house was decorated for Christmas, you could not really appreciate the glory of its interior at the time of my visit, even though the trees were rather festive! Happy New Year to you! Paul.

The Christmas decorations were great. I particularly enjoyed the frozen leaves on the bench, lovely photo.

A very enjoyable video. First time I have watched a video on my big TV for ages. This looked splendid on there. Loved all the snowy, frosty scenes, particularly the crispy leaves near the beginning. Beautifully decorated house and lovely music! 😊

What a beautiful relic of the past. You shared some valuable information Paul. I loved the tour and certainly the effort made to decorate those trees was amazing. Looking forward to seeing what you'll share next year. Have a great change over from 2022 to 2023. ✴⏰🎉🍾🥂🇳🇿🙋‍♀🇳🇱

Hello Paul! I really enjoyed the tour of Saltram House - it's really beautiful and I can see why they used it as a TV set. The Christmas decorations were lovely, too.

Hello Paul - greetings from Poland.
Thank you so much for this wonderful video. What a beautiful house and gardens. I loved the still photographs, especially the ones with the frosty scenes., The Two Bridges was a real treat - it's years since I've been on them!
See you again very soon. Stay safe please

Thank you Michael! Glad you enjoyed the video and my photography. It was a very cold morning, but well worth it for the scenes that I was able to capture, I feel. Yes, I think that, unbelievably, it is the first time that those two iconic bridges have ever appeared on my channel, even though I must have caught trains across them, and driven over them hundreds of times! Happy New Year to you! Paul.

Thank you for your kind words David - it really is a rather excellent location and site for photography and I was blessed with a deep frost on the morning of the visit - which did help photographically. Thanks again, Paul.

Thank you Roy! Sorry I am a bit behind with replying to, and keeping up with, all the comments and messages at the moment. I look forward to watching your videos too Roy, but, unfortunately, I can't find the time to watch every one though. Happy New Year to you too - let's hope it is a better one. Take care, Paul.

Just beautiful Paul. My favourite memories of Saltram are in Autumn looking for conkers. Plymouth is surrounded by so much history and beauty...Tamar Valley, Barbican, Plym Valley railway, Neolithic Dartmoor.

Hi Paul, hope your having a great Christmas 🎄🎄. Back in Spain now and will see the New Year in from Valencia with my wife and her sister.
The back drop of the Tamar Bridge is wonderful, just had a look on Google maps to see where Seatram House is, I must have travelled past many times, my sister used to live just over the water.
The frosty morning provided a mystical look to your photography 👏👏.
Have a great end to 2022. Feliz año!!

A great video 😊. Loved it all. Peaceful and ideal after the hype of Christmas. Was that an owl sillouette in one of your photos at the beginning?

    • @westcountrywanderings
      @westcountrywanderings  Рік тому +1

Thank you Cathy! I saw this bird on the periphery of my vision just before I pressed the shutter and waited for it to fly over the River Plym. However, I am unsure as to what type of bird it is. When I took the photo I thought it was a wood pidgeon, but having zoomed in on the photo that looks very unlikely. I used to work night shifts just a few metres from where I was standing when I took that photo (Sainsbury's) and you could often hear owls sounding over the river at night. Unusual, but not impossible, to see one after sun up though. Take care, Paul.
