of course they did, but the hook is different of the one you think about. it's a hook without the barb. otherwise it would be a hassle to catch and release the fish from the hook to cast the hook back into the sea repeatedly .. the trick is not to let the line slack. Yes but it's different from the one normally used. Which makes it so easy to unhook the catch.
