When I was 8, I just thought Archie was funny and I did understand some of the references on the show, but not this one. How could I when I hadn't even gone though puberty yet? Especially now that 50 years later we men know much more about the effects that stress can have on the body and are more open to talking with our doctors about it and being reassured of it's being temporary.

Archie Bunker . Was my grandpa's personality to a T! Even look Wise. I grew up with my irish grandpa who I loved! I knew he said off colored things ect.... But I loved him. So many people now are offended by everything!!! And I mean everything to the point you can't even have an opinion or speak your mind. I love this comedy show! And yes people it is comedy! Brings back ALOT of memories
My Grandad (also Irish) was the same. My siblings and I still talk about and imitate Grandad’s sayings and fall around laughing. He was a gentle giant with a wonderful turn of phrase.
