wow i was born in 1993 went to this park for the first time a few days ago grew up in CT they just built the nicest park in. CT located in Nagatuck and the Lynch boston park is still slot bigger and more obstacle dense. Thank you for donating. did you skateboard??
I know the original organizer of the project Nancey Shown and she had started the project at least15 years ago when she talked to some skaters who were Ollieing her art work at the Boston Common "Make Way For Ducks". She asked them why they were doing that and they replied " We have no designated place to skate in the city and that's all Nancy needed to know. She told me it had been planned on being build at the now defunct "Turtles Banks" in Brighton but that got canned and the City used some of the funds for another project, Real Nice! then the park was put on the back burner for years.
@@771shadowolf Holy Crap! That park is so sick! I'm an old-school Vert skater and my feet were getting sweaty just looking at the pics online. I was born in 65 and I have never stopped skating aside from a couple months off due to an ACL ligament I blew out 10 years ago in the halfpipe at Rye Air base. Never stop skating shadowolf, it will keep you young and your mind and body sharp.
@@nightrider5420 that project is older than her. The first project was actually dirt jumps that were under there, with the hope that if funds could be raised, it would eventually get turned into a skatepark. In the late 90s, Riley Corp Construction donated an excavator and build a dirt jump section. First time I ever 3-6ed a kicker.
bad ass park took my son for a bikeride last weekend and we decided to go by there is charlestown. you saw the ugly part of boston as the FBI was pulling a body out of the charles river on the right two minutes latter the beauty of the citys new skate park..yeayaahhh next time we skate it
If you saw the park today you wouldn't recognize due to the fact that the Local so called "Graffiti" punks destroyed it with layers of paint and I imagine the city gave up trying to keep it nice. It looks like a apocalypse broke out with trashed improvised ramps and trash highlighted by the Lamest graffiti and scribbles you ever have seen. I use to take my boys to skate it but now I won't even bother going alone. Such a shame really. 😡
Shoutout to the guy at 2:05 who can skate!
You should make a video where you skate here but it's all covered in graffiti now but still
It looks soooo good. Congrats!
This thing took so long to organize this park. I remember donating money to the project through my local bike shop in Cambridge in like 1995.
