To be fair, the R34 Skyline is not as curved as it shows on the box. What you're seeing is uneven ride height. The car is much lower in the front than in the back, creating an illusion of curvature. The nice thing is that LEGO was actually able to replicate this in the middle; the front is lower.
"Souped up modification engine here..." That'll be the NOS bottles.
Your rear fenders are on backwards. Swap them around lol
I didn't notice at first, but you're totally right. I guess that's what can happen when you finally get Lego to print on those pieces. Haha

Great review with in depth details. Has definitely assisted on whether I want this set or not.
I'm generally ok with exposed studs but on this line there shouldn't be this much, especially not on the front where you look at the most. don't know if this could be fixed by adding some tiles or if the hood would look too bulky then
The tiles on top would make it look bulky but they already have made a solution to this problem but have only used it on the other speed champions coming out this year

Ahh good to know! I am ashamed to admit I haven’t actually seen any of the F&F movies haha - have a watch party scheduled soon with a friend who is obsessed with them, but as of now, I’m left basically guessing at some Easter eggs like that
I don't get it. Every reviewer of this complains about the studs. It's LEGO! It has studs! Previous SC sets also had studs, but for some reason, everybody ignores it???
Every car that has a low hood has to have the studs on top of the fenders. And because of the awesome build technique of the middle parts, the snot bricks for the headlights just have to be there too.
I'm with you on that, my biggest gripe was the front bumper. The C-West kit is a glorious piece of fiber and resin and Lego really half assed it when the rest of the detailing is insane. The fix is simple. You remove the two single stud pieces under each cheek (one grey and one black) and add a flat plate 2 x 2 in grey on the bottom of each side. Gives it a much more tuner lip look and replicates the dual openings with the wing pieces already present.
this is the best review of this set i've seen yet, really capturing what i dislike about it, the studs and overall look that isnt quite neet, i dont know if i'll get it or not yet. cant wait to see more movie speed champions as well, they're more exciting than the supercars to me

Couldn’t they add some plates to cover up the studs?
Plates on top would make it too thick on the upper/side part. Maybe replacing some of the studs with tiles, but you can’t do it for all of it because of the way things are attached
@@DuckBricks but there are new fenders where U can place a tile on top and it would be flush with the fender

The could have fixed the exposed studs with the new wheel arches that they made… I’ll buy some grey ones to fix it when they’re available

This is the first speed champ set to see the 25% increase in price. Also it wasn’t supposed to be released until March but someone at LEGO really messed up big time
