The way I see the lyric "every teardrop is a waterfall" is the emotional weight behind one teardrop is no different from the person crying a waterfall. You never know what it takes for a person to shed tears. When put in context with the entire lyric "as we soar walls, every siren is a symphony and every tear is a waterfall" - I think it means.. as we grow over hardships, we tend to realise that every obstacle can serve purpose and make us a better and a coherent person, like a symphony filled with minor and major chords. Although, don't forget those hardships, they carry a lot of weight no matter how insignificant they may appear to be just like a single tear. Be grounded.
Most Coldplay songs tend to be about looking the good in the bad and having conflicting thoughts. They may not give you the answer because the answer is different for each person. So as long as you make the best of what you have, no external factors can break you apart or tear your flag :)

Chris Martin is a phenomenal lyricist! The "problem" is it's so easy to just get caught up in the music, it's easy to ignore the words. I listen to new coldplay songs a few times just for pure enjoyment, then listen closer to the lyrics.
If you think this stop motion is impressive, you've GOT to check out their video for Strawberry Swing- it's on another level. Fantastic song, too!
You completely nailed the meaning- the entirety of the Mylo Xyloto album is about finding beauty despite struggles- Paradise was also on this album, for example. The image that inspired the entire album was a flower growing out of cracks in concrete, and that theme inspired many of the songs on it.

I’m not sure if I read this but I’ve always seen it as if we can use every tear drop as a form of cleaning ourselves, like a waterfall, every cry can serve as an opportunity to get things out of our system and try to start again in a more free way

I take this song like remembering that all of our emotions are important, like if someone cries because his ballon flew away, it’s okay, because even if it’s not a big deal, for that person is important, because you can cry and it’s fine, that’s why every teardrop can be a waterfall for anyone.
Would love a reaction to the whole Mylo Xyloto album! The video for this along with Charlie Brown video perfectly captured what the entire album is all about - "being a splash of colour in an otherwise grey, boring world", which was the inspiration behind the whole album concept. And If you want a Live experience that you have never seen before please react to Mylo Xyloto Live 2011 as well! Coldplay changed the way in which people think about concerts from this tour onwards, its now a fully immersive experience: the flooring, the drapes, the xylobands, the instruments, the staging - everything!

Man I went to see them live last week here in Costa Rica. It was THE best night of my life. You really should react to a live performance. I recommend this same song Live from São Paulo. Or maybe Paradise from that same show. To watch them live is whole new level.
This is in my top 3 favorite coldplay songs .. one because it’s very personal to me at a very hard time in my life , the lyrics of the second verse punch me in the gut everytime .. no matter the hardships you go through Iike , “my heart is beating and my pulse is start, cathedrals in my heart “ 🙌🏻 then “as we saw this light I swear you emerged blinking into to tell me it’s alright” . I always thought of that as opening ur eyes to a new day a new sun and the fact your still alive is a blessing… definitely the use of every teardrop is a waterfall is one tear is as significant as a whole waterfall of them .. it is a silver lining song but I love love love how he wrote it ❤️ also a siren can be a sign of distress , but what if there was no siren in your time of distress 🫶 it can be both something bad and at the same time a symphony
