It's extremely cost ineffective to use plants as straws, especially living ones like these which would make transport in large quantities impossible. Then you have the problem of growing the plants which requires clearing of land, using water and other resources, etc. Why do you think paper straws never really took off here in Canada? Yes, it would be nice to have an alternative for plastic straws, but replacing it with another straw is not the solution, it would be better to just not use straws at all.

Quite informative and interesting.I saw this fruit first time in Bali Island in Indonesia.Now I know that it is grown in India also.This fruit is comparable to cashew fruit.The difference between both is you get one fruit for every nut whereas water apple you are getting as a bunch.It is interesting on the whole.
I’m a fruit eater through and through! I love all types of fruit. Except durian or any fruit that’s not sweet or can’t be improved with some sugar. When I watch videos like this it makes me very disappointed some of the best fruits in the world do not ship well, and aren’t cultivated here in the States. The Asian continent and most western and southern pacific islands are a cornucopia of odd and wonderful fruits, and most of them I will never have the privilege to try..☹️
