So different and interesting to see all these very old abandoned boats, ships and barges from above, the mind boggles on the history of these craft. A very enjoyable video to watch.
@@CaptTony Glad to Tony. I sailed on all three of those. Skipper on Marjorie in the seventies crew on Ena when with Paul’s. And raced on Niagara not long ago. Very interesting place. Not tarted up like all marinas nowadays but a real treasure trove of commercial maritime historic vessels.
Excellent drone shots.I lived in boats for 7 years around here, Port Werburgh. Absolutely fantastic part of life. Feudal and under maritime or Admiralty law, but the best bunch of friends ever. :)
Well done, excellent drone shots. Always nice to see old boats from this perspective and at the same time sad to see them slowly rotting away into the mud. My grandparents lived in Favesham about a mile from the creek and as a kid I spent many a long summer day exploring the area. Drone shots of the creek would be good, Maybe sometime.
Thank you for your interesting message, and for your kind comment regarding my drone flight. Actually I don't live in Kent any longer, but return occasionally for various reasons. I've added Faversham Creek to my list of future places to fly my drone, but I've no idea when that will be? Probably not in the near future. Cheers, Tony
There are photos of Ena on the Ipswich Maritime Trust website, she was being used back in the 90s and it is sad to see her basically as a wreck, I did think she was the floating one
Great grandfather captained a Thames sailing barge out of Sittingbourne. We have a photo of my grandmother when young, sitting on the deckhouse, dressed like Mary Poppins. Sittingbourne used to have a lot of old boats sunk in the muck, just hull outlines in the mud like your first shot, don't see them on satellite now.
Sorry I can't help. The only info I have is what is available on the Internet. I'm not local, but if I was a visit to the marina would probably answer your question. Best of luck. Cheers, Tony
Shame seeing all these boats just rotting away whilst just down river the Raybel barge is being renovated in Sittingbourne. Good drone footage though, views not scene before.
I think that it was the sunken graveyard vessels that went to Dunkirk, but you can read all about it on Wikipedia. Thanks for watching my video, and hopefully you liked it. Please subscribe to see many of my other stuff. Cheers, Tony
That doesn’t look so different from when I had cause to visit Hoo Marina in 1955, the houseboats are a tad more modern, but still moored to the same old barges that were in use all those years ago. There was at that time a small shipping company called Lapthornes there at that time and a pal of mine bought an ex admiralty harbour launch at the marina and Lapthorne towed us down the Swale to Oare creek. Happy pre wrinkly days lol

Thanks for the comment. Much appreciated. Cheers, Tony
Sad but hulking redundant vessels goes back many, many years.
Sad to see a lovely barge like ENA rotting away. Nice view of Marjorie and Niagara. Thanks for showing.
Thanks for watching my video, and for your interesting comment. Cheers, Tony

For anyone like me, seeing sights like this can only make you feel sad 😢 Was that an old tug moored in the marina?
Probably.

Can you take the awfull music off of the video please, I was going to watch it but not now. Good bye.
It doesn't seem to have bothered the other 12k people who have watched this video. May I suggest that you hit the mute or turn the volume off 😂
