  • My 2017 Ram 1500 did what I asked it to, but I never really loved it. Join me in this video as I trade it for a new 2020 Chevrolet Silverado Custom Trail Boss. Now THIS truck, I love.
    I will be building an overland rig out of this Silverado Trail Boss. I will be offroading, camping and fishing out of this before next season.

    I have a 2020 Silverado regular cab work truck 4.3 V6 RWD.
    Positives - good ride - direct steering .....with a heavy feel - strong v6 base engine - 6 - speed auto has been alright - 12 tie downs standard - nice bumper design with built in step.
    Negatives - cheap plastic interior - poor interior cargo design - poor visibility over the very tall hood - cheap paint - cheap sheet metal....dents very easy - cheap plastic on the tailgate top cover ....gets scratched very easy with normal use - don't like the electronic emergency parking brake button - 14.5 mpg avg 80 % stop and go driving 25 -45 mph 20 % hwy driving 50 - 65 mph ........same gas mileage as a 2004 Silverado reg cab 4.3 v6 4-speed automatic rwd.
    Sea level elevation in California .
    Ford ....nicer build quality - don't trust engine or trans
    Ram .....best interior of the big 3 ......exterior quality same as chevy .....engine and trans not as good as chevy.
    Pick your poison with the big 3.

    I know it's a year old vid but I was the same. I had a Jeep and traded it in on my current '22 Silverado LT Trail Boss. I also have to tow my SxS...the Jeep wasn't doing it. I love my new truck and will never go back to Jeeps again.

    That's cool. I traded in my 2013 Ram 1500 for a used 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD 6.6L Duramax 4x4 High Country Crew Cab with only 26,000 kms on it. Best choice I ever made. The Ram worked great, especially with the Magnaflow muffler and the Bullydog Programmer and K&N Cold Air Intake. But, this Silverado pulls my 33 ft toy hauler camper with ease compared to the RAM which liked to squat a little too low for my liking. The Silverado barely squats and hauls the trailer like a dream.

    Owned a 1998 ZR2 Blazer for over 20 years. It was pretty tired so I traded it in on a 2020 5.3 LT Trail Boss, had the 5.3 truck for about 2 months, wanted the 6.2 so I went traded for it. Best decision I ever could’ve made. The 5.3 felt pretty damn good to me seeing is how I was coming from a 200K plus mileage 4.3 but I knew there was more power and I had to have it. I figure if you’re gonna spend the money get what you want. People dog the interior but for me coming out of that 98 Blazer the interior is a major improvement. Super happy with my 6.2 LT Trail Boss.

    • @GuardianGrove
      @GuardianGrove  3 роки тому +1

      I completely agree with your mindset about getting what you want, if you are in a position to do it! Congrats on the truck. That 6.2 is SWEET. For me, it's a balancing act, finding the best value so I can have "what I want" in ATVs, side by sides, trucks and thinking ahead to a new adventure motorcycle. I have an income I would never complain about but I also know I have to be careful not to concentrate on the "nice to have" features so I can do everything I want to do in life. Hope that makes sense and wasn't just rambling haha.

    • @a.bohcar5096
      @a.bohcar5096 3 роки тому

      What you’re saying makes total sense. I kinda went all in with the purchase to begin with and went further all in when I went to trade. In my opinion both the 5.3 and 6.2 are strong engines especially when paired with the 10 speed transmission. I was very impressed with both trucks.

    • @sweetscienceboxinggym5646

      Didn’t you lose on th depreciation? I have a 5.3 and want to do a 6.2 but it’s a tough one. If I can sell it privately I might make our better but I don’t know/

    • @a.bohcar5096
      @a.bohcar5096 3 роки тому

      I went ahead and paid the difference for the 6.2 truck in cash, it was about 5k more with the 6.2 and other options that my 5.3 truck didn’t have. With a refund check for cancelled Allstate protection that I had on my 5.3, I owed exactly the same amount on my loan with the 6.2 truck as I did with 5.3 when I traded it in. No joke. Trust me you want the 6.2, you should check into trading up.

    Nice truck! I have a 2019 Trail Boss. 5.3L 8 speed LT trim . Power is good. I cross shopped a Rebel and found it thousands more( like 10k Canadian) when you matched them option to option.
