Imo it feels like yesterday because the world didn’t change much in 20 years. There’s no significant life-changing improvement. Actually the world was a better place back then imo.
@@plonk420 yeah, I didn't even know who Daniel Craig, Mathew Vaughn was, (I went in expecting it to be another Guy Ritchie style). It was blasted everywhere "from the producer of lock stock, and snatch." Then the movie opened with 'The Cult - She Sells Sanctuary'....I was hooked lol
Omg would love to see a Lauer Cake 2 now Daniel craig finished with bond. Even end dont know for sure he was, shot dead so door open for maslov hierachy of need
"You've got a guy who can't even remember his name". I guess he is talking about Vinnie Jones here? If that's true, it's honestly, a disgraceful comment given how good Jones was in both films. He should have some respect for the people that helped make his career, at least in public.
Continued watching..."whenever you watch them they look like kitchen sink dramas, even if they're not one"...right maybe I'm being unfair, but I suspect respect is not in this man's lexicon.
Layer Cake is up there with the very best British films of all time and hasn’t aged a bit in all these years. Matthew Vaughn sets the example for British creative talent: believe in yourselves, believe in what you know to be intuitively right, fuck the bosses, and make great product.
Crazy to think Craig would be cast as Bond the following year. Obviously it turned out to be a good decision in hindsight, but at the time it really was a baffling choice for many. He's great in Layer Cake btw, can see why he was (presumably) approached based off of his performance in that.
Honestly one of the best films ever made, the plot is fantastic, the cast is unreal, the way it’s shot, the music, an absolute masterpiece
One of my all time favorites.
Nearly 20 fucking years ago. Feels like yesterday....
I know mate, miss these days.

Absolutely loved this film & in my mind cemented Daniel as a strong runner as a future Bond
i watched this recently and its a great film, true
this made him bond
Seen this 3x in one of the theaters they showed it at (select theaters at release), definitely one of my all-time favorites.
i wish i'd been able to see it in theaters. probably would have been breathtaking (all the twists)

@@Jason_Van_Stonethe sound track is excellent!
@@pault1289 absolutely!!
Such a good film… we are really lacking quality British films like this in the age of streaming.
The Gentlemen was half decent, tho less playful than the ones that made the genre popular outside of the UK

I do agree partly but is it one of the greats that a 2 could ruin it?? Lot to live up to etc 🤔
All the actors still alive, I think?
Best movie ever
Clive Owen could have done a good job. I don't know if he was available at the time.
mi daniel para mi todas tus peliculas son buenas eres excelente actor tras de hermoso eres rolo de actor me encantas
Ohh it's Mathew Vaughan who made it that makes sense now he helped produce lock stock and snatch I just got the box set with all 3 films
Holly shit, this is before he was James Bond.

DANIEL CRAIG A MULTI TALENTED ACTOR
The gift of being able to speak well.

DANIEL CRAIG MULTI TALENTED ACTOR
Classic crime thriller movie, really enjoyed this interview!! :-)
Great interviewer. Asked amazing questions and gave time for the interviewee to answer
Yeah, I miss Craig Ferguson and BBC's Wossy show for the good questions (or in the case of CraigyFerg, good AND/OR absurd 😂)
