This Cayenne is a rocket! Love the exhaust note (despite being turbocharged), love the fact that a V8 is back in the GTS range, and I really like the red colour. I think that the GTS could be the best Cayenne you can buy. Still, not a big fan of the interior: the plastic in the back of the front seats looks very cheap (I’ve noticed that on a Cayenne Coupé I’ve been in) and the central console gets dirty quite easily. Too bad that the Coupé version cannot get the opening panoramic sunroof. Thanks Thomas

the Coupe does get the panoramic roof. Just the sport lightweight pack includes the carbon roof
so you can get normal fixed roof, panoramic and carbon roof for the coupe

The key in the dash is related to the Le Man 24 hr whereby the keys were left in the car and the driver ran to the car, jumped in and drove off at the start. Personally I don't see the point or relevance now but it is trying to show their sporting heritage

Ignition key is based on Porsche’s racing heritage. I guess for an suv it doesn’t make much sense, but I hope Porsche never gets rid of it for a start stop button. Personal preference, but seeing that racing DNA be carried across its road cars is always nice, and also that more mechanical feeling of switching the ignition on rather than just a button like you’re turning on a computer lol is better imo

10:45 I actually prefer Porsche's way of keyless entry more than a start-stop button. It is unique and easy on the hands and less complicated.
Just took delivery of a 2021 Cayenne GTS, not the coupe. On the coupe you can get a non retractable glass roof or the cf. having just had an M5 with cf roof, it’s definitely a thing of beauty but I missed being able to open the roof. Awesome vehicle nonetheless. Great video as always. Ty.
Good review. After watching this video I realized that I want more comfort and will sacrifice some speed. The Cayenne S might be a better fit for me. Thanks for your honesty as always, in your evaluation of vehicles.

Considering that you can get now a SQ8 with a petrol V8.. I think that would be a great choice, especially with the 48V suspension
I knew Thomas was going to enter from the left!!! Carmine Red is a $3,000 option in the U.S. Looks stunning but for 3K, I'd rather put it towards another option. I'll take mine black in Coupe model. Beautiful car, pitch perfect review, and Jonas' legs from the passenger side. Life ist gute.

As an owner of a 2013 4.8 liter GTS with some nice options, i dont see a ton of differences. Mostly digital controls verses the buttons on the console. Yes Apple Car Play is really nice and the big Digital screen is nice. The extra power is nice. But the $100K price difference is not ok! Mine has more leather (Dead Cow) that is so not socially acceptable, just sayin.

Good review as always. While the GTS is impressive, it's quite expensive. I'm not a huge fan of Alcantara interiors but rather go for the leather-vinyl as it looks better to me and will last longer. As a matter of price point vs performance, I would go with the Cayenne S as it offers much of the GTS performance and rides better and more comfortably as a daily driver. The base is fine as well and best priced of all.
This is sort of a classic on-paper review vs driving them. In reality I drove the S and GTS and they aren't even comparable. GTS is both more comfortable, significantly more powerful, and handles significantly better. If you're going for the best version of the Cayenne, the GTS is it, even better than the Turbo and Turbo S.

Holy Moly Thomas I love the animals in cars. The Cayenne needs to have far more. Head lining, dashboard, centre consul, door cards and seats. Lush.

In general, depending on the animal skin grade, the animals are specifically raised for this matter. However even if meat would be the reason no.1 in other cases, the hide remains one of the most profitable body parts. That means: If manufacturers put animal leather in a car and you accept it as a customer, you give your money to an industry that earns money by oppressing humans, animals and destroys the environment, you make them more profitable. Also, if you turn the argument around "meat is the waste of the leather industry" you realize how biased the argument is. After all, would you care for which body part you would murdered? Or imagine someone robs you on the street and beats you to death - would it matter to you if it was for your Smartphone or for your purse?
The animal agriculture industry occupies 2/3 of all farm land on this planet which cannot be used for direct human nutrition then. That is extremely inefficient. The no.1 cause for deforestation is the animal industry. It is also one of the biggest contributor to climate change. The amount of land, resources, energy and water being used is beyond imagination.
For the alternative, you can either use artificial fabrics which can be made from recyclables (we have already shown a lot of vehicles that use great fabric seats from PET-bottles etc.) or more and more also from plant-based materials (like Pinatex). And even if you would create a seat completely with petroleum without a recycling share, the amount of oil being used for that is nothing in comparing just to once fueling up your car.
In practical reasons, fabric or microfibre seats are just more useful. You do not sweat in summer and it is not cold in winter.
Not using animal skin on seats is a major issue of animal rights, human rights - and after all just of common sense what is better both for the environment and just more practical and more luxurious for the customer. We cannot change what we have bought in the past (that also counts for ourselves of course!), but with more information and compassion we can change how we decide in the future.
If in the market for a Coupe, would you recommend the GTS over the S version?

Listening to this man speak with such a high degree of knowledge regarding this finely tuned Porsche is why the Germans will always lead the pack in terms of precision engineering. The are fanatical about the details of perfection. Meanwhile, American car makers continue to send everything to Mexico and focus on the cheapest way to build trash. Hail Germany.

I have maybe a really dumb / naive question. How do these performance SUVs do in the snow? And snowy hills? Living now in Switzerland, this would be interesting to know. Right now driving a very small kind of SUV (Opel) with only front wheel drive and LOW power...difficult in the snow, especially here in the mountains of southern Switzerland. Would love to know how they maintain traction going sometimes quite steeply uphill in snowy conditions. Thanks for anyone's feedback!!! Cheers from America representing "die Schweiz" :)
AWD works fine, and they also have offroad modes to make it more capable.

Autogefühl That would certainly bring up the texture and make it look nice but with Coronavirus it needs to be disinfected and greasy or wet hands will cause a lot of dirt to stay in the fabric. I did read recently that you should replace the whole steering wheel every two years...and that would not be cheap on the Cayenne! I do like the car though and would take that wheel if it was new! They need to evolve it the same they have with the Cayman and 911.
