Great job. Ive looked at most of these mulching videos and this is the first one I have seen where the operator is getting a lot done. You can get a lot more done going in a straight line vs constantly backing up
The “backing up” is to create a finer mulch that breaks down faster. It isn’t always required depending on the end goal for the property.
I think the guys in this video did a great job. Showing how well the disc mulcher can improve one's property. A how one should appreciate the cost for getting it done
Now that’s what I call brush hogging! This makes burst hogs almost pointless! So cool. I’ll have to keep this in mind if I ever expand my firewood business in the future to offer other forest related services. Good stuff.
Красавчик! Чётко работает оператор! 👍👏👏👏
I’ve been wondering how does this compare to the drum style mulchers for the finished product. Does one make a finer mulch?
No, these Mulchers don't leave a product as fine as a drum. They're more production over product. I run one.
I have a problem with this clear cut approach. The debris that is left behind, is problimatic, to future traditional maintenance of the area remediated.
When the vegetatation returns, and it will, you have to use the same process to mow it.
If you plan to maintain this property, you need to remove root zones, as well. Work the ground, seed it mow it, with traditional mowers. Far more ecconomical, in the long run.
Will it clear mesquites trees like that ..?
Impressive power! I have one question though...What do you do with the land now that all those root balls are still in the ground? You cant farm on it without a LOT of ground work. I'm asking because I just bought a skid steer with a mulcher and 7' brush hog. I also have a Dominator tree puller as well and am speculating what is the best way to clear my 150 acres which is covered with those stinking cedars...the roots on those will be in the ground for decades. I'm thinking pulling them will be slower but gets the roots out so I can do more with the land.
I would bush hog all the small stuff first leaving the trees then come back with the Dominator and pull your trees up last. It takes a little longer but it accomplishes the task. My two cents for what it's worth. Good luck.
@@JosephSmith72 Thank you for your advice. I want to do this is efficient as possible and have little experience clearing land. I appreciate you taking the time to add to conversation here!
@Getsum, with the disc mulcher you can go about an 1-2 inches on the ground. But would not go further. One thing you can do is come back around with a drum mulcher and get them taken care of. Are you in a lot of dirt or rock?
@@AdvancedForest I live in the very northern part of Arkansas in the Ozarks. Lots of 8-10" rocks, or ankle turners as I call them, on the property. I can avoid the jutting rocks and dig them out as needed, I just don't know how bad the blades are going to suffer if I hit loose rocks. Would it cause less damage on a drum mulcher verses a disc mulcher? And why? Thanks!
If you mow something like this and your intention is to regularly mow it, then grass and such will eventually take over. Or if you intend to have livestock put something like goats in for a bit first before cattle. That would be what I'd do.

LOL nope this is a Advanced Forest Equipment SS ECO. Much better :)
No drum mulcher can match that😁

What are the specs? What specs does the skid steer need to have other than high flow?
Hello Christopher thanks for reaching out to. In this video you are seeing the SS ECO disc mulcher. We recommend high flow on the skid steers. We do offer a disc mulcher for standard flow though. So it all depends on the machine you are running really. Here is a link to our website and the SS ECO page where we have specs on it www.advancedforest.com/products/ss-series-skid-steer-forestry-disc-mulchers/ss-eco-forestry-disc-mulcher. If you have any more questions give Micah a call and he will be able to help you out more. You can reach Micah at 866-772-0999. We look forward to talking to you!
