Imperial Japanese officers should get a separate video. Their atrocities in Asia were just as bad if not worse. Sadly a lot of them got off scot-free. Not to mention the allies (mostly the USSR) committed several atrocities of their own and got off the hook.

Allies you mean Soviets? They did some off the wall crap out in Berlin And Manchuria(modern day Mongolia and North Korea). Any territory they occupied was like that and the people saw no difference between the three factions. Wish the US took over Manchuria instead that would have been a game changer in modern day politics.

I do know because I was interested in the military history of WW2 but I didn't realise what a can of worms that I would find, but most people are not interested and teachers are not interested in the subject. The people of Eastern Europe were caught between two of the greatest psychopaths in history, Stalin and Hitler, and unfortunately they both had a number of fellow psychopaths to carry out their plans. I would point out that there are numerous individuals in present day society who would leap at a chance to act out their vilest imagination.

Beating children women and even fellow workers, was common place! Both Stalin and Hitler were beaten half to death, by their fathers! Although the Soviet forces committed a lot of revenge crimes when they hit German soil, this was nothing compared how the German units behaved straight from the beginning.
The brutalisation of WW2 was initiated by the Wehrmacht, the SS and their support troops (often with other nationals joining in) from the very first day. It was the program of the Nazi leadership as described in Hitler's book "My struggle" to kill and enslave the local populations.
All of this brutality got accelerated once more with the attack on Poland in 1939 and the USSR in 1941 - so no wonder Soviet (which is much more than only Russians) soldiers could not hold their anger back later on. Almost any Soviet soldier had lost more than one family member and the more West they came the more wealth they discovered, asking themselves why Germany attacked them in the first place.
Visiting with my two sons (following the fondness of my grandfather) Greece I told them about the atrocities left behind by the German troops to teach them how important it is to push endlessly for peace, but also to forgive the cruelties of our and the former enemy generations. We did not commit them, but it is our shared responsibility to make sure this will never happen again - just because of nationalist arrogancy and general ignorance. We also went to Moscow in 2018 so for them to understand what war means (besides enjoying the now really blossoming up from Communist meagreness).
Both of my grandfathers served in the Wehrmacht, fighting in Greece, the USSR and other places. They did not talk about the war a lot but if asked, they did and all the time warned us grandchildren to make sure that this Nazi horror should never happen again. Even after one of them served a very long POW term in the USSR, probably because he was a NSDAP-member.
Both of them always said: "After all WE have done to THEM!".
Both of them would never allow anyone to speak bad about the USSR, one of them was even very fond of Greece. Because as a simple Wehrmacht soldier he was always treated correctly by the locals "as long as you treated the locals correct too. However, the guys with the eagle at the upper arm*, they just would disappear if they wandered around alone." Meaning snatched by the local partisans and then dumped in the sea.
*The SS carried the Nazi eagle at the upper arm sleeve of their uniforms, the Wehrmacht at the chest.
Today our politicians, on both sides of the many conflicts, should finally come to honest diplomatic effort and solutions, otherwise this endless cycle of hatred will spin time and time again. It is so sickening and stupid!
There are no bad peoples, there are only lousy politicians.
    Peace! from Dresden / Germany
PS: These war criminals, god - if he exists (I am an atheist) - hopefully placed them in hell to rot and never to escape.

Despite the constant, unfounded claims to the contrary that one gets in these types of comments sections that the Japanese largely “got away with their war crimes scot free”, this is NOT the case. Ultimately, the Western Allies executed far more Japanese war criminals than they did Germans.
Additionally, it should also be noted that not a SINGLE American was ever prosecuted for War Crimes committed against Germans.
The common (mindless) response to this, from those who don’t have the intelligence to see the implications and ramifications, is that its very hypocrisy implies that the presence of one crime in some way absolves those who commit subsequent, unrelated crimes.
This form of ‘justice’ (or lack of) then calls into question the validity of other justice meted out. It leaves that justice open to the obvious claim that the victor only dispenses justice in an uneven and arbitrary manner and therefore it cannot be regarded as true, impartial justice. The justice in this form is a diluted form of justice.
This was a great failing of the post-WW2 war crimes processes i.e. it left itself open to these claims and arguments that still rage nearly 80 years on.

well that is something you have to get used to if haven't so far. Without WWII the Germans and the Japanese 85 % of stuff youtube would not exist.
I watch youtube because i am an Insomniac. If you want to get to know real history you do need to invest in some History books by credible historian . My preference are historians from country that are not from victorious countries in any war.. There are some about. There is a difference between propaganda and real history.
If you would want to point out the errors in those videos you would spend a fair nit of time writing it . take heading of this video. The SS was never a part of the German army .
It was more a Nazi Party military unit,. Divided in 2 part s. Those with the black uniform did most of the real savage stuff. Those in Grey were more fighting outfit fighting alongside Army units on many fronts . They were involved in war crimes often du to the fact they wound up in placed were fierce fighting took place with high casualties . It most likely brutalised them more than say other fighting units.. That is no excuse for being savage to towards civilians and I am merely trying to work out what causes people to behave with savagery.
I am glad I never had to have experience such a life. I had to do military training as conscript when I was very young and never could see my self doing this sort of thing voluntarily. Notwithstanding this view even as conscript you get trained to fight and that will in the real situation mean to kill someone. I am glad I was spared such an experience. As a conscript you count the days till the time is over.

Whilst the crimes of these individuals are abhorrent and not easy to hear I personally think that they should be revealed in all their ghastly and gruesome depictions, the lessons learned in WWII from the battlefield, the occupied nations and the Holocaust must never be allowed to be forgotten or repeated.
Thank you so very much for having the courage and integrity to post this video, even the research must have been very arduous, thank you again.
If freed prisoners of war, civilians from the concentration camps or ghettos etc had taken the law into their own hands and beaten, shot or hanged any of these, and I use the term loosely, “men” to death then they certainly had moral reasoning on their behalf, but unfortunately the law would say it was murder and therefore a crime, but even though I am against the death penalty for murder I cannot in all conscious reasoning think that they should have been tried for murder due to the extreme nature of what they had endured at the hands of these vile and inhuman animalistic individuals.
I am an absolute avid watcher of military documentaries and over the years must have watched thousands of them, however I had never heard of the Dodecanese campaign or islands, there are so many campaigns of WWII that some, unfortunately, are pushed to the back of documentary makers priority, and probably to the back of military commanders minds when it came to matters of the result of such campaigns/battles and even further from telling the people that lost loved ones how, when, where and why they died, there were no homecoming parades or decorations/medals for them, I just hope the Commonwealth War Graves Commission are treating them better than they were in life. R.I.P, Lest We Forget.
When you consider that the whole reason Britain 🇬🇧 and France 🇫🇷 declared war on Germany was because of the German invasion of Poland and the Polish people of many Religious and ethnic groups, sexual and political orientation or just patriots died in their huge numbers at the hands of the German military, but were not considered to be included in the war crimes trials at Nuremberg, or anywhere else that the trials were held outside of Poland the question has to be asked WHY?, Great Britain 🇬🇧, France 🇫🇷, Russia 🇷🇺 and the USA 🇺🇸 were all given seats on the trial judges panels for obvious reasons but Poland 🇵🇱, Belgium 🇧🇪, Holland 🇳🇱 and many others were not included, maybe I am completely wrong about this, and if so I apologise, but WWII was fought by so many nations and different groups of resistance organisations that I think they were not given justice by “The Big Four”, and I believe, and again I could be wrong, the same applied to the Japanese 🇯🇵 war crimes trials, only the “select few” countries were allowed into the proceedings as judges etc, but again WHY?, the ANZACS paid a huge price for their part in defeating Japan in the Pacific theatre, the jungles and other extreme environments, they, alongside many other nations were treated as badly, if not more so, by Japan than the Nazis did and yet they seem to have been ignored or sidelined in the dealings with war criminals trial’s as judges.

Those deemed harmless but healthy were shipped off for labor in German factories. The rest were released to fend for themselves in the no mans land between the Germans and Russians.

Dirlewanger was “ awarded a German Cross with gold colouring “????
It looks like the Knights Cross to me and it isn’t the German Cross in Gold as that was a chest award.

Let's not forget Klaus Barbie was employed by the CIA while living in South America all the while working with drug dealers to sell cocaine to the black, Latino and other communities in the US & France, where several of his terror units we recruited into the Foreign Legion to purge and persecute the Alergarians & Vietnamese, or Martin Skorzeny, who worked for CIA, Mossad, the Arabs League and cartels, or the Chemicals Research units that were used by the Russians on the native Kazantahstians and other Asian & Middle Eastern minorities,

History is written by the victors. Considering the guilt heaped on the Germans as to the lack of guilt heaped on the Japanese. Genocides are not that rare as present day history shows.

Funny how this narrator rightly hates the Nazi’s but at the same time he calls people who refuse to wear a coward’s mask a Karen. Sold his soul for a comment or a like by a few moronic Sheeple, suppose all people such as this have a price, others with integrity just don’t sell out
