The front light and intake ducts of the L2 panigale was curvy, beautiful and looks like an elegant hawk. Now the lights and ducts of v4 panigale are just two triangles.

Harley isn't the only V-Twin manufacturer out there, buddy. KTM have done really well with the LC8 engine on Superdukes and RC8s. The Aprilia RSV1000R was the fastest roadbike at the Nurburgring for a short period in 2008 and it had a V-Twin. That being said, V4s are better. In fact, Honda considers the V4 to be the most balanced engine configuration out there and there's a reason why it dominates the MotoGP. I'm pretty happy Ducati switched to the V4 on the Panigale, since the ultra-tweaked L-Twin they use in the current one has a pretty underwhelming sound to it.

Glad there is finally a better looking V4 soon to be on the market. I never liked the triple headlight look of the Aprilia V4 or the cheap looking graphics on that bike. This new Duc looks and sounds beautiful.
Well, Ducati couldn’t step the game up against the competition with the L2 design. They would have to increase displacement up to ludicrous proportions or sell even more expensive built engines. Going Desmo L4 is the only way. One day or another this would happen and I’m glad they are doing it. This bikes successors and next gen evolutions will be embarrassingly fast and perhaps lead the liter bike arena. Perhaps. Fingers crossed : )
Similar to others here I’m kinda undecided about the design... doesn’t feel as cohesive, elegant, and beautiful as the first Panigale. It seems like the sum of geometrical measurements rather than one flowing, inspired design. But it may grow on me. If you made a “Dark” (matte black) version that might help. However, I’m drooling over the specs on that new V4. I’d love to have one soon!
I give it 2 years max for the entire literbike class to bump up into the 1100cc range to compete, and for WSBK to raise the displacement limit accordingly.
