Very useful insight Nick! First things first, its a very early beta, so we have to expect various issues, especially on older devices. From what i see in your video the version is very solid even at this stage. The heat issue could be very serious if they don't fix it on final release. I have an iPhone 8 from 2017, it was actually my main device until last year when i upgrade to an iPhone 12 and now i use it as a GPS in my car. The only time when i had an overheat issue with 8 was on iOS 13, the very first final version without the bug fixes (if you remember it was full of them), but the 13.0.1 fixed that entirely. Thanks again for the video and i hope for another with iOS 16 beta on a newer iPhone!
My second phone is a 8+ and i downloaded the beta and the battery drains fast, lag and heating more than normally on instagram and snapchat other than that it runs fine
I remember when the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 8 and iPhone X came out. I remember wanting the X so bad when i was in middle school. Now i’m out of high school and i have the 13 pro max.
It was a real shock they dropped the 7/7 Plus for iOS 16! I’ll still keep hold of my 8 Plus for another year as I can’t use OLED screens. I guess an SE 3 or 11 coming up!

Yeah just 2 1/2 years ago I bought the new iPhone 8 in gold but it’s more like a rose gold and I wish it wasn’t. I didn’t want a black one and the red was sold out and that was a few months before the SE two came out, I would’ve held out for the SE2 but all the reviewers were saying the iPhone 8 is going to be the last one with the home button until it got closer to the release date and then they knew there was going to be another one
I have an iPhone 8 Plus and with iOS 15.5 I notice no difference in performance compared to almost three years ago when I bought the phone. There are no significant delays and the phone does not get hot. The battery (the second one) is now at 95% capacity. The question is whether I should update to iOS 16 or not. I mean ... I do not need new fancy wallpapers or the equivalent as long the phone performs as it usually does which is reasonably impressive for such an old phone.
I am an iOS 16 ip8 user. I have never experienced any lags or problems. Im totally satisfied with the update. Even though iPhone 8 is released in 2017 and can still run smoothly in 2023 is great!
Since when do you have your phone? And how long does your battery lasts? I’m also an iPhone 8 user since November 2018 but it’s still running on iOS 12. And my Problem is that I’m scared to update to iOS 16, that it will get some problems overall or that the battery life wil dramatically change. Because my battery last long enough for my uni day without really charging it until I’m home. And i don’t have money for a new one phone😢.

@Иван Янков iOS uses as much as it has available dude. iOS is not using 1.7GB in general... on my 13 Pro with 6GB it constantly uses at least 60% of RAM, so over 3GB all the time. On devices with less RAM, the system will also use less RAM. The systems these days handle that intelligently.

I was scared about the battery thing that's why I haven't upgraded it yet , so looking for reviews for ios16 update battery thing. Should I really update it to 16? Asking this cz I wanna see what and how GarageBand is !
I think the problem is the RAM, this thing just have 2GB of RAM. My 2nd generation iPad Pro with older chipset but 4GB feels quite alright and performance is not night and day compared to my m1 iPad. I wonder how 1st generation iPad Pro 9.7 with 2GB of RAM runs iPad OS 16, must be painfully slow.
That's just not how RAM works... The iPad Pro 2nd Gen has the A10X which was in general a super powerful chip that - especially in terms of GPU power - even beats the A13. Let alone the A11. And don't forget that this is the very first beta here. Even the iPhone 13 Pro models don't run that well with iOS16 currently.
I’m surprised how well iOS 16 runs on that little iPhone 8. I’m sure it drains the battery, so it’s probably better on the 8 Plus. I’m guessing this will be the last year for iPhone 8 and X.
i think that the 8 (and X) lineup will last at least another update (but probably will end with iOS 18 as the last one) because of the SoC: A11 Bionic was so advanced for the 2017 that has hands down well aged
The battery drop on the phone with iOS 16 looks HORRIBLE right now. :O It was going down 1% like every 20 or 30 seconds, it looked like, from the video. Maybe the video isn't depicting accurate battery drop, but wow.. I'm sure it will improve over time. I notice it a bit with my 12 Pro that recently had the battery replaced, but I'm looking forward to having the much more stable and optimized version that will be coming later, but in the meantime I'll enjoy the ride through the betas.
every new update slows down the phone so it is best not to upgrade or do any update because many people complain after the update that their camera stops working or something else is simply not desirable or necessary to do an update be sure to turn off automatic software update if you ask me my advice is not to update

Learn about ram first.
Use the feedback app to report battery drain problems of any kind, apple listens
I’m surprised how well iOS 16 runs on that little iPhone 8. I’m sure it drains the battery, so it’s probably better on the 8 Plus. I’m guessing this will be the last year for iPhone 8 and X.
@@shylimerence The xs and xr will prob get til ios 17-18 my bet is ios 18 would be the last one it will receive those are still pretty capable phones
i think that the 8 (and X) lineup will last at least another update (but probably will end with iOS 18 as the last one) because of the SoC: A11 Bionic was so advanced for the 2017 that has hands down well aged
Downloaded it on my iPhone, it overheated and black screened then went into a looping of restore screen…
bro, the a9 on ipad 5 supports ios 16
Ikr, I can’t understand Apple’s logic in this
@@chaujb i guess its because people do more likely upgrade their iphones rather than their ipads, just my thought
I updated my iphone 8, and it doesnt have like the wallpaper thingys
How much battery is decreased in 10 mins video Nick?
Around 10%
The battery drop on the phone with iOS 16 looks HORRIBLE right now. :O It was going down 1% like every 20 or 30 seconds, it looked like, from the video. Maybe the video isn't depicting accurate battery drop, but wow.. I'm sure it will improve over time. I notice it a bit with my 12 Pro that recently had the battery replaced, but I'm looking forward to having the much more stable and optimized version that will be coming later, but in the meantime I'll enjoy the ride through the betas.
its beta its not patched yet it will be better
why my iPhone 11 doesn’t have this iOS 16 update?
i still have ios 13 so im nervous updating to 16. i wish i could get 14 (not a fan of 15 from what i've seen on other people's phones) ........
Okay the speed of the apps opening kind of explain why the iPhone 7 is not supported
every new update slows down the phone so it is best not to upgrade or do any update because many people complain after the update that their camera stops working or something else is simply not desirable or necessary to do an update be sure to turn off automatic software update if you ask me my advice is not to update
from 72% to 57% battery in a 10 min video ... (has the battery on this iphone has ever been replace?)
My iPhone 8+ runs really well on iOS 16
I still haven’t got ios 16 update on my 12 mini 😂😓

My wife doesn’t want to give up her rose gold 8.. This should be interesting.
I hate ios 16 in my 8 plus. Super laggy, slow sometimes, crashing all the time. But I'll stick with it just because of the haptic on the keyboard
Let's try a12 chip👍🏼
Will take a note
Let’s try Exynos 7420 chip
