My 2022 TRD Off Road sticker price was $39,717. $52k just seems insane.
Look at the interior and powertain difference, there not comparable.
$52k is not insane, $52k is the price the market is going to pay.
Bro, I was trying to get one and I was thinking the same thing like might as well get a tundra at this point, there’s some that are just a few grand more than the new Tacoma
@@DavefromCA2023Both can be true at the same time
@@yeyoftw9580 you can get a sparsely equipt Tundra for $52k. The question is, do you want a high end Tacoma or a low end Tundra
Love reading the rebellion against Toyota’s ridiculous pricing. Customers who DON’t buy can change things.
The problem is that there are too many people out there that just sign on the line and don't pay attention to what they're paying. It's why the dealers got away with thousands in useless add-ons over the past handful of years.
damn this is 17k more than my 21 tacomaa . my shit paid off never getting a auto loan again lmaoooo f that
This is the way. Drive it until the wheels fall off and then treat yourself to a new one. Of course by the time your 21 dies the new ones will be $100k.
Yea I died when I found out the New Price of the TRD Off Road. My 2020 OR Premium was 10-12K Cheaper then the new Gen price. Hell no.
How many features does that 2021 Tacoma have compared to this 2024 premium package? Paired with this economy that we’re in, what would you expect the price to be?
v6 all day baby
We are the reason car prices keep going up. Stop buying them.
God I miss cheap trucks
the colorado is pretty cheap now
“Savagegeese cheering us on” 😂. Omg that was priceless!!!
Thanks for the review. Great job as always 👍
52k for a tacoma 💀
welcome to 2024
Exactly! Could spend just a little more and get a Tundra. Tacoma and Tundra should not be so close in price.
$50k unfortunately is the average price of a vehicle now. Inflation on everything has gone up but peoples salaries.
@@rndsommer40 that doesn't tell the whole story. How much Tundra can you buy for this price? It will not be anywhere near as well equipped. It's not a surprise that low-spec Tundras exist that are cheaper than high-spec Tacomas.
54 with tax my mother just took one out 😅😅😅😅 today
I've been watching so many different types of tacoma '24 videos and realized a lot of the viewers/prospective auto buyers are turned off by the price which I totally concur. Toyota makes great trucks but at this point, I would look elsewhere like Frontier P4X, Colorado, or might as well spend couple more bucks on Tundra instead.
i dont even know how people can afford a car payment
My 2020 4Runner will be hitting 200k about the time this thing needs thousands to replace the turbos.
I love my 2023 4Runner as well but I'm not all "anti turbo" or anti change or any of that. These new Tacomas have great drivability, the new 4Runner should be even better. The bulletproof 5th gen is cool until it throws itself in 3rd gear at 4000RPM with a 4.0L engine because a 4% grade happened at 70mph...
3:52 what happened to underwood appearance these days? Most new vehicle's engine bays look like spaghetti now. How are you supposed to work on your engine? This is a truck after all.
I wouldn't think twice to buy older V6 rather than this
a wise decision too,...my buddy sells high end used vehicles
he loves toyotas,...
he said if he wanted a good toyota it would be 2015 or older
You can just say you don't have the money for a new one... its O.K.!
TRD OR Premium white or underground long bed is my favourite
I am surprised they found one that is running they are either broke down or at the dealer for the recalls😢
People complaining about the pricing in our inflated economy but watching every single Tacoma video and staying up to date with the truck is hilarious, if the 4 cylinder turbo is so bad and the prices are outer worldly, there’s plenty of competition to choose from.
Yep Nissan Frontier
In Canada the Off Road is $52k without the premium package! Who can afford these trucks??
All of the people buying them I guess?
@@ytj22🤣🤣🤣 all I see is complaining and whining in these comments
People whining about the price… quit buying over priced stuff and the prices will drop very quickly. If you keep buying they will keep raising prices until you quit buying…. Supply and Demand 101. 🤓
Can't wait for the turbos on these 4800 pound inline 4 trucks to start failing at 50k. I wonder how much they'll cost to replace?
Im a toyota guy but I would rather have a frontier. NA V6, it makes good power and it is reliable.
Not me thinking "...off road..." as in off road driving and got extremely excited😅😂
I just wanna know where the trd pro is
sometime in April/May
How much will they want for the Pro? $65k
Nice Review
I love reading all the hate comments Toyota gets every time a new vehicle drops! You guys just can't afford one, it's simple as that! Toyota is the #1 selling car brand and that is for a reason, stop hating and go buy what you can afford, we will enjoy our new Toyota's!!
What do you drive? what vehicle,
@isaiah2536 me personally, a 2024 Grand Highlander! My fam, 2021 Avalon TRD, 2020 Supra, 2016 Rav4, 2015 4Runner, and 2004 4Runner, 2016 Sequoia!! I'm looking at getting my niece a 2025 Rav4 for her 16th bday next year!
My truck was blah blah blah cheaper than this. Sorry people. Inflation and all the new goodies weren't available years ago. We all wish it was cheaper or free. But it aint. This truck looks awesome, cant wait to get one.
15k more than my 3rd gen… might as well buy a Tundra at that point 💀
Congratulations who like tacomas
I'm trying to like this truck, but that short bed looks even more comical on this new generation.
my god those roads look worse than the ones here in VA
$52k for a 4 cylinder 🤡
Whats more worth it, a toyota tundra or tacoma 🤔🤔
Both junk😢
The rattles thing is worrisome. New cars are just made cheaper.
52K dollars for a small 4 cylinder truck is WAY TOO MUCH. I'll keep my 4runner until Toyota comes back to its senses.
I’ll give you my 2023 Sport with 9k miles for $36k out the door 😂
Toyota tacoma. Mama. Vera
Man, that thing is clicky, was there a leaf stuck in the fan or belt.lol
Maybe high pressure fuel pump? A lot of newer cars have that sound so I’d assume that’s what it is
Direct injection
Don't snap the front axel or whatever it was that was breaking on a bunch of em ha
One?
@@ytj22 I saw more than just one but
What is the wind sound coming from
LOL! Com on it's a toyota😢.
a lot of broke people mad in the chat
Nope! 5k+ mark ups from greedy dealerships. Bye tacos.
Hey are you still in Michigan?
I really love the exterior of the new Tacoma's... but the interior just looks so cheap. Am I the only one who feels that way?
Toyota tax is out of control
$52K for a TRD off road hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
A TRD OR starts at 42k, if you want premium features then you have to pay for that, which this tester has.
@@marvinrodriguez5152 you make it sound like 42k starting is a good price, delusional.
@@sueddo2634 42k today is 25k 20 years ago when adjusted for inflation. MSRP for a 2003 4WD double cab tacoma started at ~23K at the time. Optioning it with the TRD package would've brought it more in line with the pricing of this new tacoma OR. I agree with you though, 42k is a very expensive purchase to take on when considering the increased cost of living (rent, groceries, gas, insurance, etc).
@@sueddo2634 so maybe don’t buy the truck, look elsewhere at other competition and stop whining about the prices? Toyota isn’t going to lower the price because you’re crying in the comments about it.
@@marvinrodriguez5152- They will if no one buys them. Even its starting MSRP at $42k is more than some people make in a year.
If you buy this at this price you are a simp lol holy hell
Nissan Frontier PRO-4X will do just as good off road and be just as reliable if not more for 10k less
$52k for a midsized truck with a front differential that breaks if the wheels spin. What a time to be alive.
They will never hear the end of that.
@@ryanb8736 it happened to the biggest truck channel on UA-cam lol. No they’re not.😂
A brand new full size truck like the F150 XLT SuperCrew goes for $48k with a V6. Companies are ripping people off with these midsize trucks.
thats BEFORE dealer mark up. youre gonna look at $65,000 after taxes when you leave the dealership IF you dont buy anything else like gap insurance, extended warranty, paint protection blah blah blah. you forgot to mention the midsized truck with a 4cyl lololzzzzz.
Price up, quality down. Let's go brandon
Gives off that Tonka vibe. Not sure if that’s good or bad.
How is Toyota still sending out preproduction trucks in the press fleet?
Chris, Is the grass supposed to be that green in Michigan in March or did they spray it all down for St Patrick's Day? ☘
Haha this was filmed yesterday 😆
We get large temperature swings here. Don't worry, it's back to brown and snow covered today.
@@TheTopher😉
No Toyota, it is NOT ok to build your best selling truck in America…
No brainer to spend a couple more grand for a tundra with how its currently being discounted
Or better yet, skip the expensive "premium" package on this truck and have a great truck in the low-mid 40's. Tacomas make a lot more sense at $42k than $52k.
Damn what's with the TV ?
Great review, get well soon!!
Wow that NVH is BAD.
Have you driven the Sport as well? How does the on road driving characteristics compare?
Love your content...just not a fan of the plasticky, gimmicky, chunky-clunky Tonka truck style Toyota has gone for over the past decade or so....and pricing for what you get against the GM twins...mehhh. Be interesting to see how the new Ranger does.
GM twins are also expensive, especially the GMC.
No doubt its a nice trck. Im always skeptical about long-term reliability with these forced induction direct injected motors, but that kind of stuff is sort of unavoidable if you don't want to build a hybrid.
What frustrates me is that this is the kind of vehicles that gets me so fed up with the current car market that it makes me want to just go out and buy a used 2000s Avalon. Prices, complexity, and reliability are just not in their prime right now
Love these POV reviews, put me inside the truck 👍
I love Tacomas but $52K is an insane amount of money for one
The display is like a flat screen TV 😂 What’s next? VR goggles while driving?
52k and not even the pro, toyota tax is real
@11:44 Hello mr savage geese
Can you turn the self driving off ?
This is American Toyota market. The rest of the world is still cheap Toyotas without luxury bs people can buy.
Im grateful for my 2nd gen trd offroad that i dont have to pay for..
Thought you said in the beginning that package had the bed mounted air compressor but did not see it in your video when you opened the covers in the bed.
May I ask how the premium package with front disconnect cost only 8500? On toyota website that one is the 10k+ package. Thanks
Go to more dealers. The list is 10k, if you get an honest dealer they will charge you the 8k.
really?! Thanks for the info. @@johnmh7491
The audacity of truck prices these days.
People complaining about prices, if you can't afford it, why complain about it?
Hate all you want but this new gen is way more refined. Price jumps are due to the economy. If it is a lot of money for you don’t buy it.
My goodness that screen is ridiculous. They could just about cut it in half and it wouldn't lose a bit of functionality.
If they did cut it in half, I would rather not have one at all.
Reading this reply immediately made me guffaw 💀
I think that you can also get a smaller screen for this truck as seen in the configurator.
Look at that stupid iPad on the dash. Toyota wrecked the Tacoma.
52k for not even the top trim on a midsized truck is bonkers. It's not even a TRD pro. I have no clue how people are affording this stuff. I make good money and can barely afford to spend 35k on a car.
Just invest in a base model corolla and you’ll be good to go. Won’t have to complain about pricing there.
You definitely are not making good money if you can barely afford a 35k car.
@@jaguarx60 I didn’t wanna be mean and say it but 🤣🤣🤣, that’s exactly what I was thinking
@@jaguarx60 I am around the 90th percentile of income for my age, dependent upon bonuses. I make good money. I also am the sole earner in my household and have two 35k cars, one is my wife's and one is mine, so more like 70k total in cars. I am somewhat an outlier, but by household I am around the 70th percentile, so still well above median and right around the high-skewed average. We afford the cars fine, but it's uncomfortable thinking how much money is washed down the drain for something I use for maybe an hour a day.
My comment is somewhat facetious. I know how people are affording it, I just think it's insanity. I already feel uncomfortably debt-enslaved to my car. I can't imagine it being worse.
Most people finance these vehicles or lease so they can’t actually afford them.
i cant even afford to pay for gas let alone a new truck
Was the ride very bumpy?
I want one so bad :((((
Get a 3rd gen while you still can!
How about ford ranger..😂😂
That startup chime has got to go.
Good luck finding that truck on a lot for $52K. Crazy what is out there for $48k with hardly any options.
Holy crap the price shot up. I have a 2019 Tacoma TRD off road Premium package and it was only 42k. In 2019 the premium package was only a $2000 option. But to be fair the towing package was separate at the time, and sway bar disconnect and bed mounted air compressor weren't available at all.
Love the video! Just picked up mine today. Any idea how to remove that annoying “Adaptive Cruise Mode” message with the drive support option on the gauge? The blank is too plain but that annoying message is well annoying haha
Its missing 1 main feature i need that my 2017 has. It doesn't have 0 payments and not paying 53k for a midsize truck.
Chevy Colorado looking better and better every day ngl, could get a z71 for less then that, Or a gmc canyon at4 even.
I wanted a 22 pro but the wait list was crazy - so I bought a loaded fullly optioned TRD - it was 44k...
It better get the noise cancelled out and put that v6 non turbo back in if they really want to sell these.
Have you driven the hybrid yet? If so is it worth the price increase over the standard ?
Why the mini rear window? Because other automakers are doing that? Not a good trend to follow
50k for the most underpowered and expensive midsize truck in the segment
too much wind noise in cabin.. dissapointing vehicle especially at its price
Can confirm I haven't seen an engine cover, and the door panels are extremely similar if not identical to what you have
2020 Tacoma 27k$, crazy double up in 4 years. WTF.
Why do I not believe this truck has the air compressor
i’ll buy it in 10 years when I can afford it lmao
4:31 (GASP!) You didn't kick your shoes!
sorry man but this is NOT better than the v6
Tbh it probably is, that V6 is a total dog
Reliability wise yeah probably it’s better but in every other metric this is probably superior
Love my 4.0 v6 , 2011 Tacoma. I can accelerate while towing my 1800 lb camper , gear for deer season, generator, guns, water etc. Still accelerates up West Virginia hills with 2 or 3 deer in the bed going home. Dog? I don't think so. Only 160,000 miles so far. 😂
As much as I don't want to admit it, it is better. If I had the choice I'd probably still choose the V6 though.
that startup sounds reminds me of old school aol sounds.
alot of wind noise because the whole car is plastic?
There is a lot of noise inside the Tacoma on the highway 😢 My Hilux 2.8 D is much quieter 😊
$52k and its not even a full size truck 💀
nah.. I'll keep my GX460
Awesome great trucks I love tacomas never give problems those trucks
