Just picked one of these up to go in my white build. Perfectly matches my gigabyte z690 aero D. Got it for 200 under MSRP, still not a great price, but I'm happy with it. It's a gorgeous card.
Thanks for the review, really helps with all the information, and I'm excited to slot this into a white build I did a month ago for the wife which is still using her old GTX980. I managed to snag a new one on Christmas Day for $2089AU, through an eBay special from Computer Alliance, which is just over $400AU cheaper than the current RRP. It made sense for me, when my alternative was a Sapphire Nitro+ 7900XTX (not white, but a close silver) for the same price, with questionable delivery times, and roughly the same performance (minus RT). I must say, if you chose to build in white, like my wife has requested, the GPU/MB makers really do have you over a barrel. They're charging on average 20% more for exactly the same hardware in a different colour. I understand it's a volume/cost thing, but I could absolutely guarantee you if one board partners decided to swap their entire line to white, they would corner the market if they kept the prices real.
Today, my local gigabyte distributors dropped their prices for 4080 20%! WOW /s, now its at US MSRP! AMAZING PRICE /s , still NAH...Further to that, the other brands can shove it up their hind if they want to maintain prices
These are on sale for $1799 AUD for the next couple days, think it might be time to pull the tigger. The Gigabyte card's seem to be the coolest running air cooled 4080's out there while still looking good
Same, was deciding between the 4080 aero or 4090 white rog Strix, but the 4090 probably is too big for my case anyways. I went with the 4080 aero. Even though, I would’ve liked a 4090 instead, I’m not complaining. It looks so good with my white Hyte y60 case
I bought this and it had the worst coil whine and deep buzzing noises making it unusable. Not sure if I had a bad one. Returning it. FYI, I used an Asus thor 1000w psu

day by day Nvidia make vga price become so much ridiculous, 1400$ for a vga card, highest profit in the industry. Thanks God, we still have amd, just wait for 7900xt price. As test result there’s not much improvement but nvidia bump the price so so high, just can’t believe it!
just don't buy them and that's it, they'll be forced to lower price, at this point, you can buy a 200$ 6600 something, and wait for a 300$ price cut for the 4080, and have 2 gpus at the price of 1

Its the best card to buy if you can get it at a good price. I almost went with the 7900 XTX but with the power issues it has always being at like 450W, no thanks. And the 4080 beats it in some benchmarks, loses in others. With RT, it always wins. If you're not buying a 4090 for over $1500, this card is a good buy at $900-1000. The 4070 Ti at $800 is probably the best bang for buck, but im sure it will be $899 minimum.
That's a sigma. I read that as "Asro." Also, the current generation of graphics cards are beyond awful. Overpriced, overheating, and occasionally set themselves on fire. You would have to be pretty desperate to want any of them.
the performance of a 4080 may be good but it's just far too close to a 4090 to appeal to anyone who isn't going to just spend the extra to get "the best" they've priced out anyone concerned with value and let's face it high end buyers will just pick the top tier parts with little regard to their wallet.
People need to get it right. It's not nvidias fault we're paying shit prices in Australia it's the government's.
