- Kung mahilig kayo sa Filipino kakanin gaya ko, paniguradong magugustuhan nyo itong Ube Biko with Yema topping. Pinagsamang sarap ng ube, biko at yema na perfect pang meryenda lalo na kung may ka partner na kape o kaya ay tsaa. Sana po ay ma itry nyo ang recipe. Thank you for watching!
INGREDIENTS:
- 4 cups glutinous rice ( malagkit na bigas )
- 3 1/2 cups water
- 3 cups coconut milk
- 1/2 cup brown sugar ( you can add more depend on how sweet
you want your biko )
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 tsps ube extract ( mccormick brand )
- purple food colouring ( optional )
YEMA TOPPING:
- 1 1/4 cups condensed milk
- 3 egg yolks
- 1/2 cup evaporated milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
* Baking pan ( 33cm x 21cm )
* Broil at 200C for about 15 - 20 minutes or unti the top is lightly golden

Yes po sa itaas lang ang init ng oven, hahayaan lang po na medyo mag lightly brown yung ibabaw gaya ng nasa video.

Yes, taas lang po ang init sa oven para lang ma caramelized yung topping na yema dahil yung biko naman po ay luto na.

Yes pwede kahit yung naka can na coconut milk any brand will work.

Hi Missie! If your not planning to add yema topping yung nakalagay na 1/2 cup sugar sa ingredients dagdagan mo pa ng 1 1/4 cups ng sugar.
I have an oven..but Im still learning how to use it..When you say broil? Where would I switch it? Im sorry Im not that good..😅
Hi Rachel! The oven set knob has setting for bake, timed, broil and off, you need to choose the broil setting. The broil setting uses the top heating element of the oven.

Pwede pong ibake preheat nyo lang sa 200C for 15- 20 minutes pero magkakaiba po ang init ng oven kaya bantayan nyo pong mabuti kailangan until mag iba ang kulay sa ibabaw gaya po ng nasa video wag mo pong hayaan masunog. Good luck po!

Yes pwedeng the day before mo gawin hindi yang masisira or to make sure pasok mo sa ref.

If it’s on broil you don’t need to preheat the oven, preheating is only for baking, broiling it because we want that chard look on top of the topping…
