Hi Leo, I also have the X100S and love it! I also own the X-T2 and the sensor is such a big jump up from the X100S, bought both used for considerably less than new. Here's a curved ball, why not upgrade both but go with the X100F and the X-Pro2? You could probably spend the same as 1 new camera. Look forward to seeing your choice.
Hi Leo, if you have enough to upgrade to the X100V / XPro3, why not consider upgrading both to the X100F & XPro2 combo for around the same price used or from the Fuji refurbished UK store as they have them for 600 each, and you have the same 24mp sensor combo too ?
Hey Leo. Well, first of all I'd like to sing a hymn of praise to the X-Pro3. I love mine. Fast, responsive and after initial scepticism I find the hidden LCD screen a brilliant design. I have the Dura-Black version and it feels and looks gorgeous. Smudge it up fully with the thumbprints and it actually develops a beautiful matte patina. My free go-to lenses are the 18mm f/2 for street, 35mm for general and the 56mm for low-light. It's a great practical camera and a worthy step-up from the X-Pro2 and a giant leap from the X-Pro1. Now, I don't have the X100V but I covet one. I do have the X100F. I find them great for quiet shutter work at weddings, theatre and dance gigs. It's also the camera I most reach for when doing street, usually with the WCL converter. With your street orientation, I'd lean strongly towards the X100V. It's lower profile, you feel less conspicuous and therefore more comfortable shooting. It's now weather-sealed which used to be a primary consideration in choosing the latter X-Pro series over the X100. I think for your style it'd be the better choice, and you could spend the difference on photo books to study and inspire.
Haha great hymm! Much respect 😂 your set up sounds amazing! I've seen a lot of people lean towards the x100v purely because of the style of photography I do and also everything that you listed. Let's just say it's going to be a tight outcome! 😂
Nice video. ;) Ok I think you should go for the XPro 3.. I think the X100S is your secondary camera yes? While the XPro 1 is more important or more used? I feel like any choice is ok but upgrade the one you are actually using the most. That way you really feel the value in your purchase because it will always be more noticeable why you spent the money.
Alex my dude, thank you! It's a weird situation where that currently I probably use the x100s a bit more than the x pro 1. But I hear you man that's definitely something to think about! It's definitely not a bad situation to be in haha
Hi I have had my pro 1 in a bag for much of its 5 year life with me. Although its a great camera I find its a brick. But recently I got interested in street photography. Xpro 1 is the last camera to use - you would think. You lift the camera and people go - no don't take my picture. But I find that holding the camera waist level on a neck strap and taking pictures almost blind gives you the most amazing street photos. You gradually learn to position camera and the weight is actually an advantage. The fully manual settings let you get the exact pictures you want. You feel like Cartier bresson. You get amazing pictures. Ironically, for my personal family and friends use I have a rollei 35s fully manual celluloid camera. the smallest film camera in the world but with the carl Zeiss lens taking pictures almost like an M8. And I use my iphone for light metering.
This is exactly what I mean 😁 it's weird feeling right haha Got to love those low angle shots 👍 It's funny you said that! I was looking at the rollei 35 just now 😂
I'm kind of in the same situation as you except it's for my first camera, it's either a used xpro2 with a used lens (23,35), or a used x100v, both about the same price, maybe 200 aud less for the xpro2 combo if I can find a deal. I'm leaning towards the x100v but there is something about the xpro that just draws me in, which is weird because I've never even handled one...
Tried the X100S (even had two bodies along with both the WCL and TCL) since 2013. Now, eight years later, I have decided the X100 series is not the camera for me and am opting for a X-Pro2 and 35mm f2 WR lens. The lack of weather sealing and limitations of the leaf shutter speed wide open. Size did not really matter to me because I don't plan on going out to shoot and having it in a pocket. If you are not ready to shoot then it doesn't matter which camera you use. I am not really planning on having multiple lenses as I am retired and don't need the capability of a variety lenses like I did as a newspaper shooter. Once again, it all boils down to what will satisfy my photographic needs. The Pro3 does not really appeal to me. I don't need the LCD moving or the additional AF points. The capabilities of the Pro2 are very similar to capabilities (shutter speed, AF selection, etc.) to my Nikon D2H cameras I used as a news photog.
Xpro and XT design is coming straight from Contax, they copy almost every function.Anyway if you want good camera without breaking the bank take a look to Xpro-2. It also beat Xpro-3 in couple of things such as dynamic range, noise, OVF and if you need usable back screen.
In the Fuji line of X-body cameras I currently have the X-Pro1, X-T1, X-E3, X-100 and the X-100V. I recently upgraded the X-100 to the X-100V because it is a better camera in every aspect of performance speed, IQ, build quality, over the X-100. I'm sure the same would be true over your X100s. The X-Pro1 is still a very capable camera and an upgrade to the X-Pro3, IMO, is not my cup of tea because of the flip down screen. The advantage of mirrorless cameras is it's ability to adjust the image on the screen before you take the shot. The X-Pro3 is a step backward in that regard. If I would upgrade the X-Pro1 at all it would be to the X-Pro2. On the other hand, just buy the latest version of either camera and keep the old one as well. Or, you could upgrade them both if money is not an option.
@@Francescofoll705 then I'd say xpro 👌 just knowing you CAN take photos from a far gives me that future proofing piece of mind. Also the xpro paired with the 27mm can fit in your jacket pocket as well

But I like small and compact and I’m finding that I’ve been trying to run with that idea now as it really seems to work much better for me! Good luck!
Great video Leo. Nice cameras and set up. Same as I have but also have an Xt20. Love the X100S, it’s my everyday, every place camera. The XPro1 has a 50mm which I use mainly for portraits and the XT20 has the 27mm which I hardly use now I have the X100S. I think both of your cameras are very capable as you’ve shown so If you have to upgrade I’d go for the one which offers more bang for your buck. Look forward to seeing what you pick. @@sherwinh1661 I think it depends on what you're shooting. My X pro 1 one gets me through all on my client photography work without a problem. Nice review, BUT if you are going to add music to your videos, turn down the volume...the background music is so loud it is distracting. Better yet, DON'T add music while you are talking, and if you want it for intro or when you are not talking then don't set the volume louder than speech.
