I also love Trump's plan to not tax social security payments. My mom is 77 and if it weren't for my help, she would have to look at getting a part time job. Her social security barely covers her rent and utilities and insurance.

Actually...we have data on this. We know the % of people with second jobs and it's just now returning to pre-covid levels. In May, it was 5.3% of the working population, which is what it was in Nov 2019, too.
Look up the data at the Fed, it's publicly available data.

@@colorado50th That's not entirely how the count works. There are different sources of data. One is payroll data, which is more real time, and one is through the commerce dept. This was the bridge to make sure the data is correct on the back end and is a good thing to do.
Also, has nothing to do with people working multiple jobs which is what I commented on. You're talking ~0.5% of the workforce even if it was a full 880K impact? That doesn't move the needle outside of historic norms for Americans with multiple jobs.
I fully agree an 880K revision is huge and should be explored, but even with that reduction, job growth has still been healthy and faster than the previous admin...so not too much to complain about. Not to mention we have high interest rates which should intentionally slow down job growth, so it makes sense it happened.

- removing the "remain in Mexico" policy negotiated with Mexico.
- they stopped helping Mexico economically which is the actual solution to illegal immigration by Mexicans by removing all of Trump's favoritism policies for off shoring companies.
- no foreign entanglement de-escalation policy which provides incentives to the forever-war establishment warmongers in both parties.
- hiring more IRS agents to go after the middle class instead of reinstating all of the government workers and service members tossed because of the unconstitutional mandates.
- providing handouts to people and corporations instead of allowing them to go too work.
- due to all of the handouts and productivity lost and all of the newly printed money, the Dems have concocted a perfect inflation storm.
- not responding to the fentanyl crisis.

- paying off student debt by printing more money (which in the end translates to more inflation)

Taxing tips never made sense in the first place. The government assumes that every customer will tip a certain percentage and that is what they base the tax on. If the customer does not give a tip the server winds up paying tax on something that was never received. Governments should learn to spend less and stop trying to squeeze more money out of the working poor.

When I give a person who did a good job a tip I don’t want some greedy employer stealing it and I definitely don’t want politicians stealing it to distribute to donors and needy voting blocks.
I was a waiter and a bartender, among other tipped gigs.
No employer ever tried to steal anybody's tips because you'd quit on the first day.
When I was bussing tables, I got tipped out by every waitress at the end of her shift.
When I was a waiter, I tipped my fellow employees properly and got excellent service
as a result. My drinks were waiting for me at the bar because I was honest. My patrons
were still studying the menu when their drinks were delivered. Which meant I got bigger
tips.

I'm retired. With Trump I was ok and I still have a small mortgage. On Bidenomics, it's cost me at least 5 hundred if not more for the same stuff. When you are on a budget the items in the basket don't change a whole lot. I'm makeing it work because I know nutriction and I'm on no medications. I'm pretty healthy.
