    To my ear the BWW are much cleaner and considerably more beautiful sounding while demonstrating naked and alone, plus they are more enjoyable to play in real time as they don't have as much inherent latency. However I suspect the CSW will blend better and have a little better legato. Thanks for uploading it has convinced me to get both (BWW first)

    Nice comparison! I want both! Would be awesome if you could announce when you switch instrument and which patch you're chosing next. With YT premium more and more people listen to YT-videos rather than watch them.

    Great comparison and beautiful, lyrical playing Chris. 😀 Overall I like the sound of the Teldex Stage a bit more. But I thought the difference between those libraries would be greater.

    Great comparison! I like your playing. It’s easy to “unload” CSW articulations by alt clicking them to purge articulations. You could re-save patches with single articulations this way if desired. Cheers!

    Nice video! IMO, phasing effect on woodwinds' legato(between legato samples and sustain samples especially at legato timing when I use a single WW) is always problem. I think single note's sound is better on BWW, but long legato phrase is better on CSW. Needless to say, both are good!

    A wonderful comparison video thanks, don't think its been done in such an effective way before. I listened without video - only sound. Hit about 50/50 in what I like the most lol. Better get the wallet... Did you opt to claim the free SINE libraries? Can you run through Berlin normal and Sine back to back? Thanks

    Dear Christopher, happy new year and thx for all of your great videos!
    I have a question about the clarinets in the Berlin WW. Is it possible that the clarinet legato patch is the only one in the collection, that has no Vibrato?? For all the other instruments you can set up the two legato patch performing vibrato technique. but I haven't found ANY vibrato possibility for the clarinet. is that a bug? thx and best Raffaele

    • @louieduy
      @louieduy 6 місяців тому

      Hello Raffaele, in the orchestra Clarinet most commonly plays without vibrato. Clarinet only plays with vibrato when requested (which can be uncommon). So all the libraries would have Clarinet non-vib by default

    • @raffaelebossard4708
      @raffaelebossard4708 6 місяців тому

      Dear Louie
      Thank you for the reply! Yes, I found out myself meanwhile :) Asked some clarinet players.
      BBCSO pro has vibrato though :)
      I'm coming from the jazz side, so all the clarinets I heard playing that music always used vibrato. Just never occurred to me that it would be different in classical music.
      Have a good day!
      Best Raffaele

    Obviously the best option is to get them both :D I didn't really need Berlin Woodwinds after already owning CSW but I splurged on it during the Black Friday sale, and what can I say, I'm set on woodwinds for a long time! I think Berlin is better for a classical sound and CSW is better for a cinematic sound. Berlin's individual players and mixing options make the library have a deeper sound, but CSW has a lot of patches that sound straight out of a John Williams score. CSW works better out of the box while Berlin takes some time to mess around with the figure out which instruments and mixes sound the best. If you need just one, I would lean slightly in CSW's favor.

    Great comparation! Both are great libs, I do prefer the "romanticism" I can feel with BWW as a keyboard player, more expressive...it's my personal taste but...
    I have Spitfire audio, BWW, CSW, BBCSO, etc and I am replacing all woodwinds and brass sections with Aaron Venture stuff. Those libraries are really good combining with Spitfire audio Symphony strings and they worked like a charm in the mix, very well balanced and with tons of expression without any key switch.
    I use BWW or Spitfire Audio woodwinds for delicate passages where I need to hear something extremely realistic about timbre, vibrato, etc I notice things are changing quickly and...AV libraries are really cheap about ram usage even though you may need a powerful computer to run many instances at once with Divisimate etc...

    • @jerinsojan403

      what about EastWest Hollywood brass? which one is good? Aaron venture or EW

    • @googlewhackthis
      @googlewhackthis Рік тому +2

      @@jerinsojan403 I have both. East West will get you a LONG way, and their brass can sound great in terms of pure timbre. However, they fall short of AV stuff when it comes to phrasing etc. With AV stuff you can control vibrato depth and rate. You also have no 'articulations' so to speak, so can craft a phrase well.
      However, there will be times when it'll be nearly impossible to beat the sound of the EW 6FH legato patch...
      If I had to pick one at the expense of the other, then I'd pick AV every time. Simply my favourite library out there.

    Something you didn't mention here, but what I think you should have clarified, is that you're using BWW legacy. Where-as were someone to buy BWW today, they'd probably end up with the (IMO, inferior) Revive version on SINE.

    • @dk60ish
      @dk60ish 2 роки тому

      Actually, he covered the legacy with revive a while ago.

    • @-Meric-
      @-Meric- 2 роки тому

      I'm baffled as to how Revive is inferior IMO. Many of the good things from Legacy carried over. In fact the only sections without any original legacy instruments are the Cor Anglais and Oboes and Piccolo right? The old Piccolo was a little nicer tbh but the Cor Anglais was abysmal in legacy, and I do think the newer oboes have a better tone. The lack of a progressive vibrato doesn't really bother me too much, although that's a bit of taste. The missing dynamic layer didn't bother me as much as I thought it would tbh
      The lack of section patches is a weird thing though, not sure why they didn't keep those

    • @NailikNoteworks

      @@-Meric- The prog vib missing in Revive also doesn't bother me much, but I do miss the third dynamic layer. On-top of that, I also miss the noise mic that is in legacy, and the instruments in legacy are generally more consistent with one-another. (That some instruments in Revive have soft, imm, acc sustains but others don't drives me up the wall some times.)
      And all of this is to say nothing of how things handle in SINE which is ehhhh.
      [Edit] Another thing is the volume levels, which I much prefer in Legacy. Revive is too damn quiet. OT says this is just how things are suppose to sound, but in my book, if even the piccolo can barely rise above the rest of the orchestra, that's a problem.
