Yup, the edits before the first verse are awful. He shouldn't have tried so hard to build something other than a mixable intro. The breakdown slamming into a full instrumentation is completely awkward. Then he does it again at the end, completely pointlessly. The rest isn't too bad considering they were razor cut editing.
The rough-bit editing could have been avoided by creating a very subtle reverse reverb effect to soften those hard edges. Not sure that editing feature existed on Amiga way back in the day.
