@@MyCatalog23 I've made this suggestion on some of your reactions a few times, hopefully you'll read this because you're missing out on (Ren's Best G-damn Collab) this year. 🤯 Ren's collaboration is with the talented Connecticut independent rapper Chris Webby. The song is titled: "Chris Webby - Baggage (fest Ren)"🔥🔥🔥 This is even another side to Ren's art, and even Webby is showing another side to his talent. Webby is more known for complex tadeonal form of rap, usually being bar heavy throughout. In this track both Webby & Ren give us some sick vocals & deep bars in a song that vibes out in the realm of Southern rock/rap. The MV is also deep AF with a story that's very artistic, almost like mini film Noir. 🔥❤
The original strings are from a 1965 Rolling Stones song "The Last Time", The Verve sampled it, but didn't get it cleared, they lost all royalties for more than 20 years, untill the stones relented and gave the Royalties back to the Verve. The Verve loved Rens version, and sent him a guitar as a gift, Ren made a YT short unboxing it.
I just love this! I really love Ren's original retake, but this is even better. Simon Jones from The Verve loved Ren's original retake so much that he gifted him with one of his guitars. Wonderful reaction, guys!
Brilliant reaction guy's. It warms my heart how you three truly grasp every detail of Ren's artistry and the hard work, love and attention to detail Ren puts in every piece of art he gives his fans and the world. Ren is very special. We all should feel blessed to be alive at the same time as this phenomenal artist. I honestly believe Ren will be remembered as one of the greatest artists of all time. Once again fantastic reaction ❤
Great reaction as always guys! ❤ Ren has a video of this song which is really cool bc it's a one shot video where all the things he says are happening around him as he walks like in the original Verve video. At the end listen out for the seagulls being played on the cello as they were in Ren' video version. A member from the Verve was so impressed with Ren's version when it came out, that he gifted Ren his guitar or bass (can't remember exactly). So cool ❤
Thanks gents for another great Ren reaction. His over version is definitely worth checking out and, to be pedantic , he got dirt on his Reeboks. 😜 New sub.
It’s so good and the council estate reminds me of the estate I grew up on. And as for the musicians - he makes everyone look good. The people were probably just being respectful that he was recording. I used to live on a council estate where they regularly recorded a drama show called “ The Bill” and people just keep out of the way or act normally and carry on walking 😂❤
Love your reactions and appreciate the full attention you give to the music and artist. Regarding the time covered in this rap - written from viewpoint of having been up all night and now the sun is coming up and he's going to go to bed.
What you're seeing is council housing (estate) aka government housing. It's like the projects in US cities. Like you mentioned, it's very real, relatable, and authentic - a green spot where you can kick a ball around. "Kujo Beat Down" spotlights Ren's jack-of- all trades. He did the songwriting,; composed and produced the music; directed the video, etc.;
Yall's comments were fire..i love watching ren reaction videos. You guys had sine good takes. So I'm liking and subscribing. Cheers from a Texan taking a mental break in the French Riveria.... was awesome til I got pneumonia... lol.. til next time ! Ciao
The strings are originally from a Rolling Stones song and then the Verve did BSS using those strings which Ren then rewrote the lyrics and turned it into a rap.
Have you seen his original vid to this, it's filmed in the centre of Brighton, my city. I'm glad you picked up about Britain, for some reason this song always makes me swell with patriotism 🇬🇧💙
@MyCatalog23 so totally not sampled, it's what Ren calls a Retake of The Verves Bittersweet Symphony. I've caught a few of ya reactions and I appreciate ya opinions. Also that's not a symphony it's actually called a quartet. What Ren sang at the end was from the Original song Ciao-4-Now
It's a retake of Bittersweet Symphony by the Verves. The last 2 lines he sang were from the original song. Nice reaction, gentlemen!
U are absolutely right. You can picture everything he describes. Almost like you can create your own music video in your mind. Amazing
Couldn't agree more!

Ren is one of greatest cultural icons, maybe ever. I always put him in the same category as John Lennon, Sinatra, Bowie, Prince, Dylan etc.
The earler version of this song has seagull sounds at the end. In this version, this bird sound is emulated by the slides on the cello.

There is a difference between "sampling" and "covering."

Trust me! While I'm being pedantic I managed to type "over" instead of "other"! 🤣 I'm so surprised a pedantic person didn't pull me up for that! 🤣😂
Ren is the future of independent music He will lift ALL ships

Of course the Verve DID sample the music from the Rolling Stones so...
I do not believe Ren is UK Ren is Universal he tells You / I how it is and how it is and how it should be for everyone UK / USA us all
