For those who are wondering, Girardi was manager of the Marlins in 2006. He was named Manager of the year, after they won a Wild Card berth in the playoffs. However, he eas fired after an altercation with the Owner, Jeffrey Loria. Girardi was fired for telling the owner to cool it with heckling the umpires
Small correction but the Marlins didn't win a wildcard or make the playoffs in 2006.
Penik breaking the vow to say "pitchers don't count" is gold
Two things
1). Doing a longest tenured player for each team game would be fun and challenging.
2). You guys should leave links to the games you play so we can play them too.
Jack and Zo goofin' and gaffin' before introducing themselves.
Good ending. Best team won. "Moating" as a prank concept is ill-advised, juvenile, and hilarious.
why is pennik playing like a high school theater kid the day before the show who’s worried about their voice
Jack is definitely a sloppy steaks guy. Iykyk
Max Mannis bringing the sicko questions 🔥
Love how nobody knows that Zobrist won back to back with the Royals and Cubs
Uhh, I'm pretty sure it was the MARLINS that fired Girardi after MOTY, not the Yankees.
Girardi believe it or not won MOY with the Marlins in 2006 and then was fired :)
@@ItThatLedyea they really gotta work on putting wrong info in the vids
Love these videos and look forward to seeing them put out. Also been addicted to “Watchin guts” recently and think Jack should make an appearance there!!
Girardi was fired by the Marlins
greinkes game 7 is so underated, it still haunts houston fans when he was taken out
Jack had me dying. “Can you act professional for once in your life”
How does penik work for jomboy if he doesn’t even know pitchers used to hit lmao
I'd like to see Jomboy hire some baseball historians, and expand its coverage of events w/in the game to older periods of time.
Hire John Thorn, one of the legendary baseball historians ever. This channel would fly to the stratosphere after that
I'm genuinely a historian of the game of its past and present, would be fun. Used to work for MLB Network in research for this kind of thing. Happy to answer questions you might have, be they for your own use and info or just to test me.
@@jessicabrand4142 Out of curiosity, which season do you think is the best second basemen season ever? Rod carew? Soriano? Roberts? Utley? Pedroia? Kent?
@@harryfoster9075 Great ask, thanks for this. I’d go Hornsby’s 1924. Like without further breakdown, 222 OPS+ that season. Tied for the 34th highest ever in an qualifying season. It’s a rate that has only been eclipsed by one player since 1958, and that’s by Barry Lamar Bonds, four times. At the time, only Ross Barnes’ 1876 at 235 was higher for an NL batter. For context-Barnes hit the first NL homer that year on May 2.
But to Hornsby: 25 home runs. He had done so twice at that point in his career. Only 3 others could say they had multiple such seasons post 1924: Ruth, Cy Williams, and Ken Williams. Including Hornsby, only 10 had so ouch as one 25 homer season.
If you want me to go deep history I’ll argue Pete Browning in 1882, just let me know.
@@jessicabrand4142 fantastic reply. It is what I expected as he is one of the only pre 19402 guys ik well. He had an incredible MLB the Show card 4 years ago, which helps. Appreciate it a lot, man, you clearly know your stuff.
“Me when I’m at kfc, Max fried” quote of the video
I’m sorry but Dalton looks amazing in this video that outfit is 🔥
Bringing back moded? Let’s gooooo
5:34 oh my GOD i thought zo was about to say something else 😭
DeGrom got snubbed of that SS in 21
Pretty sure maddux has 18. I think brooks Robinson has 15 or 16 which is most for a position player
The Astros game 7 question gave me ptsd. “No cole came out of the bullpen”. HE SHOULDVE.
Everyone forgetting that it wasn't with the Yankees he got fired, it was the Marlins in '06 since that was his only manager of the year award
Glad jolly didn’t know if hosmer won mvp too or not that was way too traumatic of a moment to care lol. Got a real solid 8/10
Jack saying Urquidy wrong had me dying
"let's go JT"
*clicks Schwarber*
Dalton gotta stop deferring to everyone else’s gut 😭
Dee stole 60 twice, how do i not remember this
Joe got fired with the marlins not Yankees after winning it
The first one coulda been shildt
I'm always impressed at how illogical most of these thought processes are
Holy smokes we used to say "you got moded" back in like the early 2000s hearing jack say it now made me feel really old lol
Ricky Renterua won MOY and got fired in the same year
Thank you for confirming further that absolutely none of you watched baseball before the mid 2010s. Jolly defiantly saying Joe's firing/manager of year was 2017 with the Yankees. It was 2006 with the Marlins. FFS guys.
man no one remembered Zobrist won WS MVP back to back on two different teams come on guys
Salvy won the 2015 WS MVP, he statistically is the worst one to win it if I remember correctly. Hos or Zobrist should have won it instead.
Ruiz was the last 60 stolen bases😅😅😅
Jack and the guy with glasses don’t know ball at all
What are the credentials to work for this channel? These guys know nothing!
You cant say that it happened in a yankees uniform, you gotta know the answer before you put it in the vid, or atleast avoid having someone put the incorrect info in the vid without a correction. You guys really gotta clean up the editing
Are these guys dumb? How do they not remember GIrardi winning MOY and then getting fired while with the Marlins?
Love how Jacks literal first thing to do was to just pour water everywhere
Jack has become ungovernable
get moated, bro! act like you've been here before, bro!
Renegade for life
Lives up to his name. Jokes aside, he is great (as are *most* other Jacks).
