They got the drop on Vecna and he didn’t know how to defend himself. The next time I expect him to put up far more of a fight and with the monsters of the Upside Down defending him, his powers and the consciousness of the Upside Down, I expect more then half the group to die.

2:31 Nancy started as the typicall shy, good girl and turned into a one woman army (and she doesn't even need powers). She literally solved almost everything this season, she is resourceful and smart, and i know vecna will be literally shitting bricks when they meet again next season.

The best part about S4 is that they gave good importance to the entire team. Instead of putting all the burden on El just because she has super power they gave good amount of important role to the rest of the team. I think this makes the entire series very different from all other super hero stories.
It just shows that even superheroes can't do everything on there own
You got people like Superman but not know that even people with no powers can actually stand a chance against a powerful threat with the perfect plan and courage
I think they started doing it to a small extent in S2 in the fight with the Mind Flayer. Yes, but the team importance gradually grew over S3 and S4.

It has much to do with the fact that at the end of S3, the BYERS shifted from Hawkins and the Duffer brothers mentioned that S4 will deal with multiple story arcs in locations apart from Hawkins.

I get why he's like this now because he's just confused about how to be a good boyfriend to El and he is better I'm season 4 than season 3 and you get a glimpse of the old Mike in Season 4 episode 1 but I feel that the main gang of Mike, Dustin, Lucas and Will need more interactions when they are all together

As I was watching this all unfold, I felt like this was made for a cinema. Those who have a home cinema set up and watched this finale on it, you are so lucky! This felt like a cinematic moment.

The best part of the scene
I can see this being the first time in his life that Vecna has been genuinely scared. It’s like he can’t understand how they’ve managed to push him back. The entire season he’s been quiet but menacing, the only other time he even raised his voice was when Max fought back and that was very brief. When they set him on fire he’s crying out in genuine pain and shock
I thought he also felt pain when the last Demogorgon died hence he screamed 1 second later. Vecna definitely isn't gonna fuck around next season like he did here

What i loved about this finale is that despite being seperated, and not in communication, they couldn't have been more in sync. They have always been together before but this time, they were far but still as together as possible. Now it's a different matter that Vecna is just that powerful that he still won.

I love how the show never downplays the roles of the common people who don’t have superpowers but rise up to the occasion and fight anyway. The character’s roles are very well balanced (except for Will and Jonathan, who really deserve to shine a little more)

I love that this show knows how to write strong women. Nancy being a target shooter, Robin being brave, Max struggling to survive, Joyce being someone who has no idea what they are doing but trying regardless. None of them act like stone faced "Badasses." They are stronger because of their weaknesses, and we love them for it.

The moment the Stanger Things tune kicked in; alongside kate bush's song being played, and all the while eleven was astounded by the disintegration to mist of vecna, gave me the
greatest chills and satisfaction that I experienced from anentertainment platform, or from a TV series for that matter. The build up of the tension from all four corners of the story that led to this particular scene was phenomenal! You can definitely see how the gang was fighting for what is left to be fought. Luckily the volume of my speakers was at MAX level which just made the experience more unforgetable!!!

The one thing I love about Stranger Things...
Is that the stakes feel real.
They do the whole "david vs Goliath" thing incredibly well.
This scene is epic in every way:
1. The way they developed steve and Nancy characters was too good. Steve from being a bully to a guy who stands up for his friends at any cost and Nancy from being a clueless teenager to a person who wants to avenge the death of her close friend is an epic transformation.
2. A powerful villian being taken down by ordinary folks. When vecna is burning with fire and falling down, he looks straight into the eyes of the opponents trying to scare them but the three just stands to the ground and looks straight back without an second thought stating clearly that they are here to take him down and not run away.
3. Robin underplayed her character from the beginning but now it's time to show the guts she posses and her true care for Steve. No matter what she isn't going to leave him alone fighting vecna.
4. It's not just El who will take vecna but everyone together this time for the ones they lost and for the ones they love in Hawkins.
5. Hopper, Joyce and Murray thinking and doing that killing even one demagorgan will help the kids possibly and indeed it helped.
Finally on a funny note, which idiot will stand before a girl with a loaded shotgun. Men pull the trigger after a thought but women dont. If they wanna take you then they ll take you down. Stupid vecna 😂

Objectively one of the greatest 3 minutes of any show. This should be studied in film making schools on how to perfectly blend music, effects and acting.
Honestly, I've never seen a scene that felt so much like playing d&d. The raiding party all moving at the same time, each turn somehow made individualized while still feeling like it's happening at the same time... The incredible soundtrack making you feel the rise in tension like waiting for the dice to land and know if you made it or failed. The brilliance of adding Nancy's footsteps with the beat... It's all so well done! It feels like the excitement of taking out the bbeg, even though they didn't actually kill him.

I feel like if you were to time it out, this would probably be around 6 to 12 seconds of combat. In other words, 1 to 2 combat turns in a game of d&d.
There’s a lot about this scene I appreciate, but I think the thing I appreciate the most is that it doesn’t feel like the end. Like, while it’s so climactic and strong and powerful, it still feels unresolved in the best way possible.
This scene hints towards the consciousness of the Upside Down being separate from Vecna, dragging him away to protect him. This leads me to think there will be another big bad working with Vecna in Season 5.

Hopper and Nancy are definitely the most badass people on this show
My favorite thing is when the trio start their attack, Steve is the first one to throw his Molotov, considering his athleticism it made sense, his attack landed dead center with the perfect spread of flames over the vines holding Vecna upright, causing them to pull away and burn, dropping him to their level, and raising the heat so the vines will stay back.
Robin throws next, her shot isn’t dead center but it’s a good place to start for Nancy’s turn.
Her walk up to the enemy, so he could see the whites of her eyes is a power move in and of itself, but she took it a step further, literally, and refused to back down, landing blow after blow to vecna, throwing him back and making him feel fear. He is terrified of her because she wasn’t afraid of him.
I loved this layout because it functioned like a D&D game, with each player having a turn to land an attack on the enemy before waiting for their turn again.
The fact that Vecna also seemed surprised that the three of them came to him directly was a small detail I noticed as well. Very brief you see he’s flabbergasted before he thinks “more bodies to the closet I guess” before he gets his shit rocked lol.
This was a good comment. I loved “he is terrified of her”. Nancy has been my favourite character since S1. She’s had such great development

It’s the “David and Goliath” moment. The whole battle is given more emotional weight because for once it’s not Eleven who is fighting. It’s a bunch of ordinary people with no super powers taking on these terrifying supernatural creatures.
1:56 I love how Vecna, after getting hit with a shotgun blast, looks less like he’s in pain and more shocked and almost offended. Not in a “how dare you strike me!” sense but more in a “what the hell, Nancy?!” way.
I like to think this is partially do to how much he underestimated the party and humanity in general. It would also just explain why he was just casually walking towards them. He was like “these humans are pathetic and weak, I will destroy them easily” but then got shot and realized “wait, guns HURT?!”

An extra implies the character isn't particularly important, as opposed to a Side-Character who is plot relevant.
Jason is the entire reason Max died and had to be revived by Eleven, and why Hawkins has giant portals ripping out of it.
I was kind of sad when Jason died since I wanted them to realize that THE ENTIRE HELL INVASION WAS YOUR FUCKING FAULT DUDE
I can only imagine what the reaction was from the cast, editors, directors, writers, and everyone involved with this AMAZING moment, 4 seasons up to this, and I just know someone shed tears while watching what they made, and understandably so, this was so well made and touched not only mine but millons of hearts. I wish I could watch this for the first time again.

If only freaking Jason wouldn’t have intervened then maybe he could’ve woken her up in time and there wouldn’t have been a 4th death. Even she died for over a minute I’m sure to vecna or the underground hive it must’ve been a guaranteed victory or given enough time to open the portal.

the mix between hot and cold tones with hot being the dominate tone when fighting the Demogorgon then when they are in vecna the cool being the dominate tone and hot mix back and forth between scene the tones are insane great cinematography oh and don't forget the bokeh effect when they zoom into Nacy rifle and hoppers red, white and blue jacket in a warm scene.
Nancy is a badass! However is no one gonna talk about how Steve and Robin threw those bottle?! I mean that gave me the chills!

While Dear Billy is the best episode of the whole show.....this is the best scene of the whole show. Harper using Conan's sword to kill a Demogorgon, Nancy being badass with the sawed off shotgun, and Kate Bush song in the background. Just simply perfection.
I also love the one of El fighting Vecna. She was the catalyst of this moment

I'm sorry, but 1:24 was absolutely epic acting on Jamie's part with the sheer malice in Vecna's eyes. And the scene just sets it up with not only the fire, but the audio of the fire burning. Awesome representation of Vecna's anger!

Hopper cutting the head off a Demogorgon with Conan's sword, Nancy Wheeler going Rambo with the shotgun, this is one of the best season finales of all time!
Man, if this show doesn't get an award for sound editing or score. This is an absolutely genius use of the original soundtrack and Running up that hill
I don't think I've seen ever seen a 3 minute clip of media before that hits just hits all the right buttons as much as this clip.
Perfect timing with the audio, perfect editing and filming right down to the way Nancy moves in front to take her shot.
This is out of this world, all of the different scenes cut together, the culmination of all of the storylines, all of them winning, and with the song that has been so important to the season in the background with the most amazing remix, God it’s just one of the most epic scenes I’ve watched. Between these and the og Running up that hill scene, Stranger Things has some of my favourite moments in tv shows ever, it deserves all of the praise it’s been getting.

Ya they didn't win. In the end vecna got hurt but he won. Everything they were doing was to prevent the gates from opening and he opened them. Like they said after this. Its the first time they lost and they lost badly
Never in my life have I felt my adrenaline go up with any movie or TV show like it has happened with this. Amazing work of art. So much heart and so much dedication was put into The whole show. Amazing
For me this scene is very therapeutic, it’s a metaphor for your anxiety and traumatic experiences. Don’t let them consume you instead fight them and kill them.
I love how everyone played their part to hit Vecna from all angles.

I’ve literally been listening to the song on repeat every day… The crazy thing is, I didn’t even know this was a remake… When I was in high school I used to love placebos version of the song… Admittedly I didn’t even know it was a remake. The original is a million times better and I’m grateful to Stranger Things for introducing it to me

I like how they use the music in this show and integrated into the story rather than just put songs in randomely for the sake of having a cool soundtrack. They even remix it and blend it with the orchestra.
What? That's exactly what they did here. "Running up that hill" in Dear Billy was played because it was Max's moment and just like how the lyrics were saying "Running up that hill", Max was running back to her life. Right here, it served no narrative purpose and was just played because it was cool.
@@thorough5138 Yeah but it has been built up to become the theme of the season. It wasn't just a one off to transition from one scene to another or to set a mood. It's now part of the story. Along with Master of Puppets. It's not just a song thrown in there to set a mood. It is what Eddie is actually playing on the guitar.
@@VincentStevenStudio it wasn't built up well. Before this point the song was only played when Max was on screen or played to act as a shield from Vecna. Meaning that it was played only for Max or because she had to play it to survive. Then it was played during the teaser for volume 2 for no reason other than the song simply becoming popular. Then it was played here in the finale also for no reason. Besides the teaser for volume 2 there was no built up for being the seasons theme, it was just Max. The song served no purpose and was just played for the sake of having a cool soundtrack.
@@thorough5138 it was still part of the story though. It didn't come out of nowhere. Another example of good use of music is Guardians of the Galaxy. It's not only the soundtrack to the movie but it is part of Peter Quills character. All the songs are in his cassette given to him by his mother. Compare that to the first Suicide Squad which tried to mimick GOTG style but the songs were random and thrown in every scene transition. My point is. Good use of music is when the songs become part of the story and the characters.
@@VincentStevenStudio exactly. The songs being used in GOTG were apart of Peter Quills character and therefore were appropriate to the scene. In SS 2016 it was just thrown in randomly. Imagine if Into the Spiderverse just randomly played the Prowler theme when the Spider-man's (and women) ganged up together. That would not be right to the situation. Or if "Come a little but closer" was played when Peter unlocked his god side of his powers to fight Ego. " Running up that hill" was already part of a character and her alone but then decides that it needs to be played in the most random moment when Hopper kills a demogorgon and Vecna getting defeated. If it had another song established that can relate to that situation then it would have been fine but Max barely relates to the situation.
The entire team should be paired from writer, director, screenplay, cgi and actors. The entire seen feels like a theatre experience. Goosebumps!!!

Something that always gets my attention in this scene is how Steve’s hit is dead centre (being naturally athletic) Robin hits Vecnas shoulder and Nancy’s immediate instinct is to shoot said shoulder 👌✨

This scene was EPIC one my favorites from the season and series. Nancy was a badass and definitely giving me those Linda Hamilton Terminator vibes. Hopper with the sword was just awesome. The song tied it all together🤗. Just wished we didn’t have to wait until 2024 for epic conclusion
