We grow Hickories at Raemelton Farm :) Always seem to be mostly sold out as folks buy them before they're even big enough but I can put some on hold for spring 2023 if you need!
I have a very prolific bitternut hickory - the squirrels and chipmunks love the nuts --- I nibbled on one - man did it earn its name .... is there a way I can make use of the nuts - and I would be glad to send the nuts to anyone who wants to try to grow / sprout it

The bitterness is apparently water soluble. I’ve read that you can make a nice oil by pressing bitternuts and none of the bitterness stays in the oil
They are said to give smoked meat a great aroma. Haven't tried it though
