It's a compliment alright, not *worded* ambiguously but it's got the potential to be interpreted as a form of irony still if you look at it this way: If this god considers Jessie J et al. the most pivotal factors in increasing his interest in earth (or his nostalgia for the spit he spent on it billions years ago, anyway), then there really isn't much to the rest we have to offer and there isn't much to Jessie J et al. to begin with (should be fairly obvious? no? huh..), so he can almost only be sarcastic in this matter (like, oh hey, the repetitive patterns on that bare wall are quite interesting, don't mind the rest of this shabby wobbly patched-up cathedral of a cultural mash-up that *could* be quite nice too.. ah wait, I need to pee first).
Feel free to consider Bang Bang a fair piece of pop art, it certainly isn't one of humanity's top achievements, right? Quite easy to surpass even? (Opinions everywhere, I guess..?)
