This may be the best after round interview/off the cuff/whatever in the history of golf television. One guy just won what is arguably the most difficult tournament in the world to win, then has the genuine good nature to come unannounced into a situation with a fellow tour pro whose game has struggled mightily over the past several years, and then gives him the spotlight in the re-creation of his own tournament winning shot, providing an incredible level of encouragement to a guy that is commentating now rather than playing. Such humility and humanity in a game of all places!!! That’s why golf is the greatest game, always has been and always will be!!!
Best thing Bryson could have done is start a YT channel so people could see what a good dude he truly is. I met him at the 2016 us open at Oakmont, he was a little awkward for sure but I could tell he was a nice dude. Thats why you NEVER judge a book by its cover because god forbid someone act a little different than normal, but then again what truly is normal? Glad people have come around to liking Bryson
The PGA wanted you to see their version of Bryson..I wasn't a hater just indifferent to him..since following his utube channel..I'm 180 the other way now.
I agree I have been watching the PGA since the late 80’s and I can honestly say I have NEVER seen a Pro let alone a major champion do anything like this. What a U.S. OPEN CHAMPION we have now. Oh boy what’s the PGA tour gonna do now? You realize this win just took even more fans from them and they can’t afford that even to lose 1 fan. Time to swallow that big ego and do what’s right for the game and the fans.
The difference with Bryson is authenticity. He has discovered his genuine identity (that which is uniquely him), courageously embraces it (by putting himself out there for all to see via his UA-cam channel and other media) and exuberantly expresses genuineness. He’s fun to watch and his zest is infectious and very evident in its impact with others. Congratulations BD!
I’m so hyped to walk with him inside the ropes at Valderrama in less than a month. That’s why LIV is amazing. We get to see the people’s champion live in the flesh, at a reasonable time of day. I know Americans are still b*tthurt about losing their golfing monopoly, but Bryson is proving that PGAs product really aint that great. The golfers are boring and not allowed to do what Bryson is doing for golf. PGA mafia messing up BIG time right now.
Absolutely. But I think the best thing he’s done is curb any negativity when things don’t fall his way. His demeanor when losing earlier this year was all class.

Hi from Sydney, I met Bryson momentarily after the final round of the Australian Open probably 10 years ago or whatever, he was still an amateur I believe. I heard he majored in Physics, I asked him to wish my Dad a happy birthday on video. My Dad was also a Physics major, and major golf tragic, so I asked him to say 'from one physics major to another, happy birthday!'. Bryson obliged! I've been watching his career ever since. Go Bryson!
Wow, what a classic story. Good to have experienced a bit of it here. Plus you have it on film. Only downside is Physics majors and PhDs will now be clogging up tee times everywhere figuring out hoe to hack the game one more level.
