What can I say....watched your vids for the last two days and I am inspired and excited. Just ordered my first two straps. I will definitely send pics of them on my pieces when they arrive. I don't think I had seen this episode, I though I'd seen them all... I was trying to find a show that I hadn't seen, I guess I missed this one. Nice new tools Michael. You haven't done a UA-cam video in months! The watch I find most comfortable is the Speedy with the leather strap you made for me. I'm looking forward to the two new ones I have on order...
Thanks Bob, I’ve got a show in the hopper, but waiting on the guy to send me some pictures of it on his wrist. It’s going to be a little different, but I think it’s cool. After getting hit by the crud in July I was knocked down for over a month. It put me so far behind on orders that I had to put doing the shows aside until I got caught up. Customers come first. I’m still not above water, but was able to put together a quick show that should be out soon. Thanks for everything! MK
Yes of course, business comes first. This blue alligator will be the material I use on an Omega Speedmaster Racing that I just got. It has a dark metallic blue dial. Nice strap.
Michael, yes i just received the straps yesterday!!! Will get them installed tomorrow. The blue strap is actually going on my blue dial Rolex Yacht Master but could go on my blue Sea Master as well. Funny enough i have both! Anyway thanks for a great looking product and will send pictures soon.

I really don’t Pat, sorry. I’m dealing with something a little similar, albeit on a watch not as pricey as an Omega. I gave my son-in-law my Squale Onda dive watch and somehow he broke the crown off of it. So the stem and the crown need to be replaced. I brought it to to watch repair shops here in Jacksonville, FL, and they didn’t even want to touch it. I shipped it to a Squale authorized repair shop in NY, who’ve told me that they can absolutely fix it. I bought this watch on eBay for around $700.00, but I have a feeling that the repair and cleaning will end up costing me about the same as I spent on the watch. Sometimes we just have to bite the bullet...

Nice job Mike! I’ve only managed one home made Frankenstein strap years ago, but you have inspired me to get into this hobby more seriously. Just picked up a sheet of sting ray. Can I ask did you dye the edges blue? Not sure if I missed that part of the video or if you burnished the edges. Thanks.
I use edge coats and/or edge paints, and yes I do burnish the edges. I first apply a little Beeswax and also use Ron’s Edgework prior to burnishing… MK

Great instructive videos, many thanks for taking the time to post them. Leatherwork is my Covid lockdown hobby, so self-taught from videos like yours. After making everyone bags and lined padded belts for Christmas I am now playing around with watch straps. Wow, they are tricky. I am using paper templates that I make for each strap which is slow. Can I ask where you got your acrylic templates from?
