His statements about Salesforce and Workday are insightful but he doesn't fully listen to his own insights. He mentions the business specific processes and rules hold the true value in these applications, and concedes companies could reverse engineer those with AI. He says Salesforce and Workday would be best positioned to do this, but that doesn't really matter. The queation is whether competitors can do it cheaply. Perhaps companies like Salesforce will need to stop exposing their metadata to customers to prevent competitors from reading it to reverse engineer their customers' customizations. Because as it stands today AI could be a great tool for making migrating off these platforms nearly effortless.
