Awww thank you so much Misoo for such wonderful words. It's incredible to have a tiny home of wheels with everything you ever need wherever you go. do you guys recommend the Galanz mini fridge?? I love how it looks and am considering getting one cause its pretty affordable compared to expensive camper fridges, but am not sure about how much energy it'll drain :/
Hi Meli! As much as we loved the design of the fridge, it does drain the battery. I would recommend getting a DC fridge so you don't have to worry about running out of power, especially on cloudy days.
I LOVE this van conversion! This has the cleanest and most efficient one I've seen yet. My daughter would even love to live in a van like this. Not only do we want YOUR van, but we want your cat and "soundtrack ", too! 😉😁😊
LOL, thank you very much!! The van is actually for sale so it could be yours ;-) We could throw in the "soundtrack" with purchase too 🤪😆 Axel makes all of our trips, he is the cutest adventure cat ever. The van is comfortable, we lived in it for 3 months while traveling the Pacific coast and western Canada... and it wasn't enough. We are onto a slightly different chapter now but vanlife and van adventures will still be a big part of it!
Thanks for the great ideas! We just put the clothesline in our cart ;) Love the blinds and I've been trying to decide how I'm going to make mine...did you purchase blinds and cover them with the reflectix and material?
Thank you and so happy to hear it was helpful! That clothesline is awesome, you will love it :-) For blinds we just purchased plain vinyl pulldown shades from Home Depot, cut them off, sewed fabric and thin reflectix together like a sandwich and attached it to the pulldown mechanism. Fun little project! Good luck with yours!!
So I just came across your video on tiny house Tours and I have to say that this is by far my favourite van build layout ever.It has all the components that I love .Im definitely going to use this as in inspiration for my van build next year.I live in the Caribbean so cold temperatures wont bother me as much but how do you combat extreme heat? I have so many questions 🥺🥺
Hi Juvell! So happy we have inspired you and wow, living in the Caribbean must be gorgeous!! We actually both really like moody and chilly weather so when it gets too hot, we naturally escape to cooler places. But good insulating window coverings do a really great job! If you are in extreme heat all the time, you might need to keep number of windows to the minimum and maybe install an AC. If you have more questions, connect with us on our website or Instagram! Good luck with your van build!!
Hi Cathie! Sorry, we currently don't have plans. You can check out our website for a list of materials for your van build though. Good luck and so happy for you looking into vanlife :-)
Hey. Love the van. Please tell me, do all the windows create a condensation issue. Starting out a build and want windows like yours but am concerned. I will have hot air heating throughout. Thanks
We haven't had much problem with condensation.I don't know if it would be different in more humid places. The main problem with windows is that the more windows you have the harder it is to regulate the temperature inside. Windows heat up or cool off more quickly compared to the insulated walls of the van and even the roof. But -the views are amazing and make your living space feel spacious!

Hi there, Thanks for all of the great info! Just wondering if you are happy with the Bosch hot water heater? Does it draw a lot of power and are you able to keep it going with the solar alone? Thanks!!
Hello :-) Thank you for watching! The water heater is a very nice addition, however it does draw quite a bit of power. If you plan on using li-ion batteries and you have good amount of sun it will be fine. Also wiring it to a switch will help out a lot so it's not always running.
Are you happy with your refrigerator in terms of power consumption? My current van has a very small 12 V fridge and it uses very little energy but it was expensive. I’m planning on buying another van next year and am debating whether to stick with the 12 V or try a regular household fridge like yours.
We went with our fridge because of style and size/configuration and it does look amazing, we get so many compliments. If you just use it for short trips, live in a sunny region, and have great lithium batteries, it is totally fine!! Most of time we are ok but we did run out of power when we were on an extended trip in Pacific Northwest with rainy days all the time.
Gone with the Van Yes, I assumed you went with the style, it is a great looking fridge! I live in my van full-time. Right now I have 160 W of solar panel on the roof and a 95 amp hour battery. It works absolutely perfectly with my little refrigerator which is only 1.3 ft.³, but in the next van I want a much bigger refrigerator. I plan on doubling or maybe tripling my solar panel wattage and greatly increasing my amp hours as well. It’s very tempting to get a 110/120 fridge like yours since they are so inexpensive. When it dies I could easily afford to replace it. I need to do more homework before I make my refrigerator decision!
@@spleerfloof If you triple the system for the next van that should give you plenty of power and maybe even connect your batteries to charge while you drive just in case. These fridges are nice because they are larger and pretty inexpensive, if anything, you can always swap it out for a 12v in the future.
Gone with the Van I don’t think I’ll have enough space on the roof to actually triple it, but I think I can fit four 100 W panels on the roof. Roof space will be limited since I need a 24 foot extension ladder on the roof as well, but my plan is to put as much solar on the roof as I can fit! In my current van, the battery is also being charged by the alternator. That is the way to go, for sure!
Hello! So glad you like our van build for Christian. If you are interested in doing a build, email us to hello at gonewiththevan and we can discuss the details. Thank you :-)
We love it too and got it at Target. The only thing we have to say is it is an AC fridge (not DC) so it is less efficient, but if you have a great electrical and solar setup, you will have no issues.

Thank you so much and I apologize for the delay in responding! Honestly, I would recommend going with real tile. It is the most natural solution and you might think it is heavy or could break, but actually something like subway tile does really well and the best part is you are not dealing with glues etc. Good luck with your project!!
Another great video. Thank you. I am also interested in travelling with a cat. If you have any informations this would be fantastic. Best wishes from Bavaria Germany
Thank you so much, it means a lot :-) Traveling with a cat is incredible, his personality changed and he is so fit and happy 🐈 We are planning to do a video or at the very least blog post on how to train your cat to travel with you so stay tuned!
@@patti9392 We always kept our cat on the leash. It gave us a piece of mind and he was totally cool with it. But if you are confident in your cat walking around free, you should definitely have a chip/GPS. We met some people on the road who told us their cat ran away or climbed a tree in the forest and disappeared... and we honestly couldn't bear a thought of losing our Axel. He was a scaredy indoor kitty for 13 years and it's hard to predict what he would do if something/someone scared him. But it really depends on the personality of a cat, I think, and how early you start to train him/her.
Thank you very much, it means a lot! We filmed this tour in our favorite place - Big Sur, California. Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1) is one of the most beautiful roads in the world.
Thank you so much Laura! We keep Axel's litter box in the bathroom, it fits perfectly in the shower pan and there is still a little bit of room for us to walk in to use the toilet :-)
@@yuliainnnature oh....just go to the amazon link , I meant the actual electronic device itself that you use that switch to turn on/off to drian the waste water , what's the electronic device call or how do I find it ? ♡🙏
@@jeannie8262 Sorry, are you asking about the Motorized Ball Valve? We just added that link in the description. The triple on/off switch is connected to three of these under the van for each tank for draining.
Where would you dump automatically a black water tank that seems pretty foul...Don’t hit that switch you’re gonna pollute something somewhere ....compost preferred
We are not too worried about accidentally hitting this switch, and it has never happened before. Plus this is number one toilet only, and a small amount of urine is not going to damage anything unless its loaded with pharmaceuticals and chemicals (and we are very healthy). For going number two - we agree with you, we would have to have a composting toilet.
Awww thank you very much! Axel is a cat with a dog personality, and he is so cute! Brett was not a cat person before he met Axel... and now they both can't live without each other. Thank you for all the comments, by the way :-)
We actually kept him on the long leash when we were parked. He didn't mind at all, he was quite happy and it actually gave him a piece of mind :-) Axel is 13 and he was always an indoor, kind of scaredy cat so we weren't sure how well he would travel, and if he could just be trusted to make his own decisions 😁 We met a few people on the road whose cats ran away or climbed the trees and disappeared, and we didn't want to take a chance losing him.
Gone with the Van so do you guys have any litter box? I didnt see one so im guessing he is trained to go outside? Which is amazing, i have an 8yo kitty i tried to leash-train as a kitten and she hated it :/ i gave up - she is my main concern for if i was ever able to work out van-life, it is a dream of mine.....
Value is a very subjective thing. What may be worth a lot to you is worth nothing to us, and vice versa. Everyone is different. For us, healthy and safe home environment is the number one priority, that’s why we pick natural high-quality materials (most of van builds have spray foam, particle board and memory foam mattresses). We invested a lot of time into creating a solid beautiful and functional build, thinking through all the details, and yes, making it aesthetically pleasing and clean. We were making a healthy home for us and it just so happened that we are selling it now.
Why do you assume that we have so much money? We both worked really hard, got a used Sprinter van, took out a loan for it, and physically worked many many months, converting it in the free time while having two full time jobs. The point is - if you have a dream, you should work towards it. And hard work pays off. We chose to have a Sprinter van from the start, which for a beginner may be expensive compared to other vans, but it lasts a long time. And we converted the van using high quality materials because the environment we created has a big impact on our health. And to us, health is priceless.
Somehow we can't live without fruits and veggies but definitely can live without red meat. We still eat it but very rarely. Love fish more! And we do have a fridge, which does a very good job storing that kind of food 😆
So...how...unless your folks are wealthy, do you have the money/ time to do this in 2020? I don't get it. Are you kids rich by inheritances? I make $1000/week. I can't come close to doing this, with a d ed cked out Sprinter costing 70k. What gives?
We wish we had rich parents... but we don't. We both worked full time, got a used van and were able to qualify for a loan. We worked really hard for six months - all of our weekend time was spent working on the van. Our friends and family haven't even seen us. It was a tough time but also fun time. But when we got to travel in this van, this work paid off... This is an experience of a lifetime.
Nothing like a clean build! The fridge is super cute!
Thank you so much Nette! We love the fridge, it's the perfect color and a great size!

Best wishes from Bavaria Germany
Thank you so much, it means a lot :-) Traveling with a cat is incredible, his personality changed and he is so fit and happy 🐈 We are planning to do a video or at the very least blog post on how to train your cat to travel with you so stay tuned!
I'd love to see that too. I would love to travel with my cat.
@@patti9392 Oh, you will love traveling with your cat so much! We are working on the video :-)
My cat has to be everywhere I am. So, hoping it will work out on the road. Do you have a GPS on your cat? I will definitely want that.
But it really depends on the personality of a cat, I think, and how early you start to train him/her.
consider protecting your beautiful work with a dehumidifier
Oh, this is a great idea to protect wood. Thank you :-)
Beautiful Van, it's really amazing :). What place is that on the 0:18 ?
Thank you very much, it means a lot! We filmed this tour in our favorite place - Big Sur, California. Pacific Coast Highway (Highway 1) is one of the most beautiful roads in the world.
@@yuliainnnature :), this place is really amazing. I want to visit it some day :)
What is the name of that amazing song playing?
I love your van. They layout and bathroom is perfect. Just a quick question though, where do you keep Axel’s litter box?
Thank you so much Laura! We keep Axel's litter box in the bathroom, it fits perfectly in the shower pan and there is still a little bit of room for us to walk in to use the toilet :-)
I want to get a kitty🙏
@@jackiem1093 Please do! ❤️
How much does it cost to do a van like the one you did for Christian Schaffer? (Van included)
If you are interested in building a van, please email us for a quote.
What size (length) is your van?
It is Mercedes Sprinter 170 wheel base.
What do you call that waste water switch could you give me a link where I can go buy ? thank you 😊
Hi Jeannie! We added this link in the video description. It is called triple switch for water drains. Thank you and good luck with your project!
@@yuliainnnature thank you so much !!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️❤️♡♡♡♡
@@yuliainnnature thank uouuuu sooooooooooo much ! I'm building a van and this is what I have been looking for :) hope I can pull this off ♡♡♡♡♡♡🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I see cat..i like..❤😂😇
Hehehe!! Cats are awesome 🐈
Is this the 170 wheel base?
Hi Walter, yes, it is 170WB 😊
Where would you dump automatically a black water tank that seems pretty foul...Don’t hit that switch you’re gonna pollute something somewhere ....compost preferred
We are not too worried about accidentally hitting this switch, and it has never happened before. Plus this is number one toilet only, and a small amount of urine is not going to damage anything unless its loaded with pharmaceuticals and chemicals (and we are very healthy). For going number two - we agree with you, we would have to have a composting toilet.
Pa Shout out ...U.S./Pampanga nxt time :)
👍
What a fantastic view of the water to wake up to. SO sorry but I can't cope with cats, they scare me. Witless.

Cute cat not really a cat person loves dogs but love animals never the less
Awww thank you very much! Axel is a cat with a dog personality, and he is so cute! Brett was not a cat person before he met Axel... and now they both can't live without each other.
Thank you for all the comments, by the way :-)
How do you get your cat not to wander when you're parked somewhere?
We actually kept him on the long leash when we were parked. He didn't mind at all, he was quite happy and it actually gave him a piece of mind :-) Axel is 13 and he was always an indoor, kind of scaredy cat so we weren't sure how well he would travel, and if he could just be trusted to make his own decisions 😁 We met a few people on the road whose cats ran away or climbed the trees and disappeared, and we didn't want to take a chance losing him.
Gone with the Van so do you guys have any litter box? I didnt see one so im guessing he is trained to go outside? Which is amazing, i have an 8yo kitty i tried to leash-train as a kitten and she hated it :/ i gave up - she is my main concern for if i was ever able to work out van-life, it is a dream of mine.....
when a van campers look overly concerned with appearances like these people, they are trying to sell their camper eventually for more than its worth.
@@yuliainnnature I'm curious, how much do you want for it?
@@KCGalanski Send us a message to hello at gonewiththevan.com and we will email you the details. Thank you!!
It's very nice to have money. These are not the people to watch if you're new to this life style. " unless you've got money."
Why do van tours always show "fruits an veggies" does nobody eat burgers any more...yeah right.
I have seen so many van conversion videos recently, but urs is sp neat and my most fav. ❤❤
Thank you for the sweetest compliment and for watching!!💕
