Mate, I think this 80 series build should be a big lesson to heaps of people out there, especially young lads, that you don't need to spend 50,69,70k on a 4wd to get out there and get amongst it. The ironic thing about the scene in Australia these days is that people with these brand new rigs with 30k worth of accessories on them, need to spend their whole life at work just to make the payments on their rigs to maybe use them twice a year on a trip. With a 10k rig that you own and don't have to make repayments on, you can work less and go camping more often!.
Too true mate, I own a 2001 MK Triton. Paid 5.5k for it with a 2" suspension and 2" body lift and a bull bar. Slapped on good quality tyres (33's), roof racks, awning, canopy, and kings spotties. Total cost about 8k including cost of car, I go anywhere I want. Only issue I have is fuel range, but I'm not the only dude with a thirsty 4x4 so I'm happy as. p.s I'm 25 and was 23 when I bought it.
I'm currently on my 3rd 80. It's at almost half a million k's. Sometimes I'm tempted to buy a new light weight but then think of the debt for a crappy ride with stuff all re-sale value. So I give the 80 some love and attention and it rewards me back with reliability.
Ture, But one thing i'm worry about maintanace . old car always take me to Mechanic shops. isnt' it? my Old 07 Pajero diesel. i owned about 1.6year so far spent 12.000 $ shit me
This format is great Sam! It’s the kind of content that attracted me to the channel in the first place! keep up the good work. take the 80 to landcruiser park, home of the tough toyota’s 👌
Thanks for showing Stedi! Being from the US, I hadn't heard of them. When the Type-X lights come back in stock definitely will be picking up a set. They're gnarly bright! Also I like either style of video. The 4x4 24/7 style is good sometimes, the vlogs are also good. All depends what YOU want to do man!
Awesome vid brother. Other vid might have been a miss but it's important to keep innovating. Your a personality, you got a dude on the camera, got a 4wd. So winning combo.
I prefer either as the VO provides a unique ability to see more wide angle shots to get a better views of the Australian countryside to see which spots I would like to visit again. Great job either way from your North American fan.
As a surfer who travels, I always appreciate the ability to drive on the beach and just camp and chill wherever. Are you going to add a Barrier to the 80?A friend of mind took a wrench to the back of the head in a crash. He had a barrier installed the next day🤣😂😅Great video and thanks for sharing.
Hate to criticize people for trying something new, but this format seems so much more natural for you. Had me laughing within the first 2 minutes. Cheers big shoots
Your 80 is looking sweeeet. Such a bargain and quick build. It took me nearly that long just to fit the 2" lift suspension upgrade and a diff breather kit on my 80 (though I didn't have a hoist). I too love my tailgate. Yet Toyota changed this much loved feature from the new LC300.
Mortan Island is where i go to spear fish the northern tip is where I find tiger and bull sharks (I typed this comment before I watched it and now I have watched it and realised u mentioned it in the vid haha
This style is wayyy better
Old school chancing line's vibes
I didn’t have the heart to be negative on the other video but you made my day going back to your style Sammy!

Yeah its fine when you get one of the most capable 4bys ever made. The pettys have more power stock anyway
Ture, But one thing i'm worry about maintanace . old car always take me to Mechanic shops. isnt' it? my Old 07 Pajero diesel. i owned about 1.6year so far spent 12.000 $ shit me
Sam just do it how you like, we will keep watching no matter your style. Thrash time. Drive it like its stolen or next best thing company car
yew love this style way better, Takes me back to the days of Chasin Lines
Yew yew its clapped out 80 time... i love watching other people spend heaps and thrash these things around its so good
That "Lemonade" looks a little like Wild Turkey ;)
well thats one benefit of living in the land of rust. my bolts never fall out
big 4x4 patrols off-roading, camping, building cars, where has this channel been my whole life??
Love this style of content, far more natural. I'm glad you tried changing up the style, but this feels much better.
This format is better, feels like an experience than a movie.
What a rad trip 🤙
Loved this ep sammy, been watching tj and mac for years good to see you fellas all hanging out!
2:14 having no exhaust system actually does make a car quieter, this is indeed a car fact.
Will Marks not true at all😂
no shit
prefer this style! you need a gimbal though for those gopro hiking sections of the video, it was a bit shakey..
Keep your style Sam that’s why we love it!
This format is prime af!
Narate as you go mate, keep it natural and authentic. Channel is 🔥 either way 🤙🏼
It’s your channel mate no one else’s do what you think is best
This format is great Sam! It’s the kind of content that attracted me to the channel in the first place! keep up the good work. take the 80 to landcruiser park, home of the tough toyota’s 👌
Just about to crack 100k, what an achievement!! Knocking back a tin for you tonight mate🍻
Thanks for showing Stedi! Being from the US, I hadn't heard of them. When the Type-X lights come back in stock definitely will be picking up a set. They're gnarly bright!

This style of production is what made me subscribe in the first place, very enjoyable.
Yewww this style is way better, back to the chasin lines style. Love it.
Awesome vid brother. Other vid might have been a miss but it's important to keep innovating. Your a personality, you got a dude on the camera, got a 4wd. So winning combo.
Love the videos. Also congrats Sam on your channel about to tick over 100,000 subscribers!
Yado a good job champ. Just have fun. I enjoy both formats. See ya on the next one.
loving it Moreton has got to be the best weekend getaway
I prefer it like this, more laid back chill
Gotta do the head... might as well turbo it 🤷🏻♂️
Love the style of this "Vlog".... not even awkward that you where the spare wheel the whole trip 🐢
Loved the vid Sam. We're off there next week for the annual boys camping trip. Much prefer this casual style too.
100k tonight Sammy get on it ! Big jump from the 5k I found you at 🥳 such an achievement 💪
Soooo close to 100k!!
Wait what! congrats on 100k bro.
Yeah the bois, what a weapon.
Haven't been to Moreton for YEARS - thanks for the inspiration (& the cool build vid)
That 80's series Land Cruiser is awesome!
🤣🤣🤣” this walk is so long oh look we are here ok let’s go back now”🤣🤣🤣
I prefer your vlog style presentation. No problems with the voice over it just feels more personal watching you speak on the fly.
Just run-a-muck and lolly-gag Sam! Too many "polished" 4x4 shows out there already, love the grass roots approach 👍👍🍻🍻
Love the vids like this !
Authentically Sam!
I prefer either as the VO provides a unique ability to see more wide angle shots to get a better views of the Australian countryside to see which spots I would like to visit again. Great job either way from your North American fan.
Either were great, I liked the effort you put into the new style it was great content
sam love the vlog style bro its just some much more real life haha I love watching you being you
Mint episode Sammy loved it
Much prefer this style, like to watch your original style videos. Keep up the good work!
It’s weird seeing somthing on UA-cam and thinking in my head “ wait a minute I’ve been exactly where they are “
Was keen to see more of the 80 and some driving
I would love to see the 80 parked in my garage, if I'm honest.
Still stuck in WA mode mate. East coast for surf and sunrises, West coast for calm and sunsets in most of QLD.
Glasshouse in the 80!
I’ve got an 80 with 473,00ks and sure there’ll be many more
Best get the head done before it lets go.
My 96 80 jus clicked ova 450k she a slow pig but a good pig
TheCamRonG1993 have had a look at it it’s perfectly fine. That thing just keeps bloody going
Because of the 6 week restrictions in Victoria obviously the BNB show will not be going on? 😭
Will you organise another for Melbourne?
The vlog style is way better
Congratz on 100k mate
One word. Steadicam. Keep up the great work!
This style Sam - 100%. Be yourself hey.... Great video....
Needs more 4x4 content, love the episodes man but we need to see the 80 perform
the only thing left now is to Turbo the 80, do it..... dont go spaz with it, just give it double the torque and power, 4.5psi will do it
Way to go 80! They don't call the Landcruiser a "Legend" for nothing.
This style is much better, no practice. Just go vlog and figure things out on the way. That's how legends are made.
Yea mate just keep up the muk around type videos.👍
Keep it real Sam that’s what I think people want to see
My dad loves ur vids
this style is way better
Hate to criticize people for trying something new, but this format seems so much more natural for you.
Had me laughing within the first 2 minutes. Cheers big shoots
i have been to that light house, the view is so amazing, i wish i had a 4wd of my own to do some beach driving next time!!
great video, fun to see Australia
great video.love this style. come down to vic and suss out some of our huge national forests. lots of technical driving to be found.
A beer that's probably a cider as he takes a sip of wild Turkey 😂
Glasshouse edit was by far better!
Nice trip. Awesome place. Clearly you're the "cruiser" whisperer! Build a car one day - go the next! 👍
Awesome video!
Much better more natural much like the chasing lines s1 keeping it simple . Need more 4x4ing. In the 80 suits u Sam
Congrats on 100k bro
Mate so much better this way brother!!!
Great video! Lots of fun! :-D
this is goals
Another great video mate and only 500 till the 100k
Huge fan of the stripped back/vlog/run and gun style 🤙🏻
Come up the cape we are going next week!
Mortan Island is where i go to spear fish the northern tip is where I find tiger and bull sharks (I typed this comment before I watched it and now I have watched it and realised u mentioned it in the vid haha
Didn’t want to comment negatively on your other Vid. Much prefer this more relaxed styled though!
Definitely take it up to the cape
Sam's on the wild turkeys. good drink bro
This is so much more suited to you
15:36 that was like a GTA cut scene 😂
i thought he was taking the piss in the glasshouse vid ahahah
You should twin charge the engine (for stage 2
this style!!!
Run n gun is the best
For future reference, lower bellhousing bolt is a perfect replacement for a front caliper bolt on an 80...... ask me how I know haha
Take the 80 to the cape 👌🏻
Go to Gordon country. It’s a good little campground with 4wding close by. Only a few hours from Brisbane. One if my favourite places to go 👍
Not that I was butthurt by the previous video styles but this was bloody good to go 🤙
You want remote? Go to groote eylandt in the gulf of Carpentaria. You would love it up there.
