Hey Sabrina. You're quite right about Zoot and his influence occurring through out all seasons. And if you're interested, he features in the canon novels which continues the story on. More information can be found at; www.tribeworld.com/buy-tribe-books/.
I think it's because all the kids were scared, but he wasn't. He embraced the new way of life and showed them they could do for themselves. He went too far with it, but you get the point I'm trying to make. LOL
sabrina metzger They didn't half milk his character though, rehashing the chosen in series 5 and even the book continues with yet another incarnation of zootists on a completely different island/country. After The Chosen were defeated they should have left the whole zoot thing alone, it just became too repetitive.
There are photos before season 1 where he's in a different outfit. But yeah, I wished he lived until the season 1 finale and then do the whole Chosen stuff.
It was a BIG mistake killing off Zoot/ Martin, they could have kept him for a few more seasons and shown us his backstory and his link to Bray and THEN he could have died. What a waste of a great plot line.
thank you for uploading these, I haven't watched the tribe in about 14 years. it's taking me right back to my childhood and sadly the tribe was the only good thing in my life then as I had a very cruel stepdad so this was the only thing I was ever allowed to watch. only allowing us to watch half an hour of tv a week was nothing compared to the horrific things this man did to us but that's why the tribe is so special to me
i feel a strong emotional connection with her. prob my fav character because I imagine if it was real I'd really care for her. She has a pure heart like you say.
+David Sisson i found the real reason why, though the actress who played Chloe and the actor who played Ved were actually dating in real life secretly, which wasn't so bad had it not been for the fact that they decided to play hooky during one of the filiming days, which had actually cost Cloud 9 a heck of a lot of much needed money
Lex is so absurd. Most of the time he makes no sense, he gets Ryan to protect him all the time, and if he gets into an argument he just spouts nonsense until something sticks... or if that fails, just says that Amber fancies Bray and then swaggers off into another room XD It's brilliant.
Rewatching this as an adult I really don't understand how they didn't kick out Lex. He was such a jerk and constantly threatening everyone, telling Trudy should leave with Bray and the baby. How did he get to stay there?!
I mean yes zoot had more heart thsn him he wanted to protect his girl his baby abd he stood up for brsy when he got punched...like lex always double cross someone when it suits him best.
11:01 fun fact: In the German version Lex says "Pass auf die Witwen und Waisen auf." Which translates to "Take care of the widows and orphans." German Lex is such a savage ... 😂😂
It was such a bad move to kill off Zoot so soon. At the same time it's amazing how much of a legacy he left behind for the whole series. His character arc is one of the most tragic and complex in the series too with once being Martin and him forming the idea of taking over the world I think was more of a way of hiding behind his own fear of being considered weak or second best like he felt with Bray. I'm honestly considering that Zoot may have actually been able to redeem himself if Lex didn't approach and begin to threaten Bray and Zoot. The other reason why i think that is because despite him being vedy jealous of Bray, he still clearly loved him as when Lex had him restrained, he stood up for Bray and tried to defend him at the cost of his own life. Zoot/Martin's character is a tragedy for the circumstances and being killed off too early in the series.
They drag it out a bit though. His character should have been left to rest when The Chosen were defeated Bringing him back in S5 and resurrecting The Chosen in the novels was just lazy. How many times can you rehash the same story?
@@ZanzibarBreeze apologies for the late reply! Zoot's image I think works with being dragged out as he represents what the world could become without people like the Mallrats. Zoot in many ways is the embodiment of an ideal and not just a person. Also probably because they might’ve realised killing him off this soon was a mistep. All villains after that like the Guardian, Ram and Mega all represented some manifestation of power and chaos.
Interesting fact, even though Zoot dies here in episode 8 of series 1, he is the only character alongside Jack, Lex, Trudy, Ebony and Salene who appears in all 5 seasons (not including archive footage).
Chelsea Foyle I think Lex felt gulity after finding out Zoot had a daugther and later was Bray brother. I think Lex never wanted to kill Zoot. He never wanted two be a killer.
this show was amazing when i was young, never missed an episode. the first season acting wasn't great but around season 4-5 the acting was incredible they all really came through and turned into amazing actors
Some of the actors always kinda stood out to me. Specifically the ones who portrayed Bray, Lex, Amber, Salene, Trudy, Ram, Zoot, Ebony and Jack. The actors who played Ebony, Salene and Trudy weren't amazing to start off with, but they did get better in future seasons I think.
Thats the thing thought, he never was competent. Just a kid going crazy at the end of the world as they know it and people glorifying him and jumping aboard the mad train. Zoot did not gain power though hard work or carefull manipulation. He just started calling crazy shit and people followed. The truth is Zoot never was a bad ass, he (Martin) was a frightend boy coping badly with the new world and ZOOT was his way of coping. Almost like larping for him maybe. Bray knew this. Nobody else did. It's why his ''legacy'' is a thing in the tribe because nobody knows the truth about him. Its why he was killed off early, so the watchers did not get to see that to much either. If Martin had lived, odds are Brady would have pulled him back. And there would be no legacy of Zoot. And none of the future events like the chosen etc would be a thing anymore. Zoot is iconic for this franchise. Martin is not. But Martin was real, and Zoot was not. thats kind of the point of that character I feel.
Then how did he manage to survive with all the other roaming gangs of murderers and rapists? Because Season 1 The Trbe was not a pretty place and it wasn't just down to the Locos. Ebony says Zoot was the best street fighter she'd ever seen. So presumably she has seen him kick the shit out of people. Hell we see him lead a bunch of locos against a group of Demon Dogs in the first episode if I recall correctly.
His unbelievably huge legend throughout the show appears to imply that during the months he was around, the Locos caused huge amounts of damage to the City.
lol at Chloe praying that Lex didn't mean to hurt Zoot. Just because it was accident that he went over the railing, she still saw Lex whipping Bray with that metal weapon with the chains on it while his arms were being held behind his back. Lex hurt Bray, and totally meant to hunt down and hurt Zoot.
This show gets nostalgia points, but honestly. As an adult, Zoot is just goofy. The look, the acting. The things he says and does. "I'll take ova the whole world with my 5 guys and one police car!" Would have been really funny to have him gettin' his delusions stumped when those Technos arrive.
I love how now I look back, some costume design and makeup is kinda Gothic in a way like with the Locos looks like they were doing a cyber goth theme. Just me?
Wowwwwww, when I was younger seeing this for the first time on WAM I never saw these early episodes so to me Zoot REALLY WAS like a legendary myth haha I thought wow that Zoot guy must have been a freaking badass to have everyone so scared even when he's not around and I was clueless about how/if he actually died Also rewatching it now I'm looking a lot into the makeup and how some like Paul and Patsy wear similar marks, sighhh what a legendary show thanks for uploading these
Fun fact: in the recent 20 year anniversary interviews with the cast Ray has said killing off Zoot so early was a mistake. Its pretty interesting, on one hand he could have done so much more, but on the other if he'd lived it wouldn't be the same show it turned out to be.
Seen some pics where he isn't in his loco look and I wonder why kill the dude off if he got pics out of that zoot look. Still, did like his appearances out of the zoot look in some music video stuff like Abe Messiah and This Is The Place. Makes me wonder if zoot and trudy would've been together if he dropped the locos.
Anakin Skywalker true, but he never really leaves. I was surprised because I didn't remember this episode, and it shocked me. I remember his influence more this his death.

As much as I hate zoot (or however you spell it) my heart broke a little when he said is that right babe will you come back with me then ? Likeee idek haha
it’s such a shame we couldn’t see a bit more of Zoot later on in the season , u could tell he had a soft side&weren’t as bad as he was desplayed just from this episode 😩
It's so weird watching this after seeing how much of a legend Zoot becomes later on and here's he's just some kid arguing with his big bro and basically dying by accident.
They should have made a fight scene between Lex and Zoot before he dies. It was so random how Zoot was thrown off the balcony, did he trip or Lex pushed him? It isn't clear.
I seriously gotta get some of that shit the wardrobe and makeup departments were smoking when they came up with the designs for that funeral look...... "We shall honour the dead, by wearing bird feathers, and birds nests on our heads, with silver eye paint." . . . . .
I always wonderd what the reason was that they killed off Zoot so quickly. Was it planned all along? (As a plot twist similar to sudden deaths on shows like Game of Thrones.) Or did storylines change and the writers just didn't know what to do with him at the end of the day?
I love the tribe so much, but when im not watching the tribe im busy watching nollywood movies on youtube, theres a lot of it. dont know why ive started watching nollywood but my heart is with the tribe.

I think the funeral makeup for the boys looks laughable, the girls are not too bad with it. This is the only funeral where they change their makeup, it would have been interesting if they had continued it, since the makeup is always symbolic of something.
thing i dont understand is when zoot dies ok they are like oh a dead body and its bray brother right so he would be more upset and it seems he does not care after he dies lool
yes u are correct though chelsea he did cry but patesy his sis still says to lex oh i still hate you and i wish the yhad a better reason why he left haha
when Danny James, the actpr of Zoot searched for the role as Zoot, the script already said that Zood would only be in 8 eipsodes. but ye that would be logic though since it's like the mainreason why many characters left in way or another.
Although he turned malicious, I wish they hadn't have killed off Zoot so soon. Would have been more interesting in he'd have stayed in the series a little longer.
It's original music made for the show. I think it's on the soundtrack. They put out a bunch of songs, lots of cheesy pop stuff. It's all on youtube somewhere.
It's funny because, I don't remember where, I read that he was supposed to come back to life. Like, he didn't really died and that a fishermen found him alive and took him in. He ended up appearing to bray one day and told him how he actually never died. And how he got rescued by a fishermen. How he was looking for him for a long time and he finally found him. I don't remember where I read this but if it was going to be like that, it would've been awesome. Lol
Zoot is the most fascinating character he dies after only 8 episodes, but his influence never goes away

Mega was just as deluded as Zoot.
I feel like they killed zoot off way to early, and the way he died was worse he should have at least had a good fight before falling over the balcony!
^ dumb 90s teen
Cierdh mcgregor Definitely should have had a proper fight with Lex
Cierdh mcgregor was zo or realy the great fighter his minions claimed maybe lex was. Better . Zoom was a great leader no doubt
I meant zoot UA-cam changing me text agh
There are photos before season 1 where he's in a different outfit. But yeah, I wished he lived until the season 1 finale and then do the whole Chosen stuff.
The ease with which Zoot dies cracks me up every time. Lex barely turns, and Zoot zooms straight off the balcony.
It was a BIG mistake killing off Zoot/ Martin, they could have kept him for a few more seasons and shown us his backstory and his link to Bray and THEN he could have died. What a waste of a great plot line.
if only you knew
HAHAHAHA yes I'm aware of that now looool
Ben J same goes for all the characters that have short appearances on their show (zandra, Danni, luke, ved, dee, patch , etc).
They show more of his back story in season 2 or 3, can't remember, but he is still around well up into the very last episode EVER

It was quite sad to see Martin die, and scary how much influence his alter ego has in later seasons.
He was so human in this episode. Which showed that this was his way of surviving. Power and chaos.
Poor bray, not only did he lose his brother but he lost his family as well 🥺🥺
Aww, when Chloe is says " but mostly look after Zoot"...all the feels.😥
nothing like a sunday stroll in downtown with a dead body in a shopping cart!! hahaha lmao

It would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Zoot wouldn't have died, but survived
I agree, because he's the only character who dies that "lives on" and influences the events throughout the whole series.

Not different than the Zoot guy, different people at the end of the day. A world without order would give rise to egotists, and psychopaths.
Because he was the only fighter. Look at the episode with the tribe circus. He wasn't there and they didn't win/almost get killed.
They would have to bully him out, which would mean use physical force and considering most of them were kids and teen girls that wasnt the best option
He was the only fighter. And Ryan would only do it with Lex' back up.

I like Zoot I wish he never died 😢
thing i dont understand is when zoot dies ok they are like oh a dead body and its bray brother right so he would be more upset and it seems he does not care after he dies lool
Zack Parkinson probably because they're used to loss by this point...
yea truee i do agree with you chelsea though
although he did cry at his funeral
yes u are correct though chelsea he did cry but patesy his sis still says to lex oh i still hate you and i wish the yhad a better reason why he left haha
Eeeeeeeeeeeish Zoot died too soon 😅😂😂😂😂
they need to put this show back on. it took me so long to figure out what this movie was called! miss this show so much!
when Danny James, the actpr of Zoot searched for the role as Zoot, the script already said that Zood would only be in 8 eipsodes. but ye that would be logic though since it's like the mainreason why many characters left in way or another.
If Zoot didn't even know about the baby, how did the Chosen?
The Chosen were former locos. Ebony probably spread the word about it
Zoot was so hot, the best looking guy in the show.
Although he turned malicious, I wish they hadn't have killed off Zoot so soon. Would have been more interesting in he'd have stayed in the series a little longer.
Im in The united states and i looovvvee this show! You must upload more or PLEASE get it started up again!
CookieCrumbs31 they uploaded more
I can't be the only one who was confused by the funeral costumes....Right?!
I love amber
Same
What is the opening theme song I love it but I can't find the name anywhere
It's original music made for the show. I think it's on the soundtrack. They put out a bunch of songs, lots of cheesy pop stuff. It's all on youtube somewhere.
The dream must stay alive
He's wearing a hearing aid. He probably only had limited hearing or had an operation to be able to hear some stuff.
In nearly every tv show or movie, when someone falls from quite high up, they always land with one leg bent 🤣
Wait Zoot is still alive!!! Look at his eyes. 22:30
Lol
2016! anyone else
