  • About Vantastic: We are a happy couple who got rid of everything to travel the world. We make vlogs sharing our daily lives in a camper van, our ups and downs, and our adventures around Europe.
    What camera equipment do you use?
    We use GoPro10, Røde VideoMicro with a dead kitten, Ulanzi tripod mt-16, Ulanzi cage G9, Ulanzi vl49 light, DJ Mavic Pro drone and Adobe Premiere Pro to edit the vlogs. Our electrical power set-up in our camper van allows charging our camera and laptops to film and edit.
    What is your van?
    Our camper van is Fiat Ducato 2015, Adria Twin conversion panel van. We have done only minor upgrades and mods to our camper van, we pretty much love it as it is.
    How do you afford your nomadic lifestyle?
    We live on a true shoestring budget. We travel economically, we cook all our meals, we dont visit tourist traps, we enjoy being in the nature and hiking in the nature. We worked traditional office jobs for years and now we live on our savings and investments. We dont believe you need tons of money to to pursue your passion. However, we have learned that you do need to sacrifice comfort, consistency and safety, but that it is possible, very worth it, and the only lifestyle that makes us truly happy!
    What happens after van life?
    Call us naive, but our goal is to travel forever.

    Wow, I really enjoyed and appreciate this vlog. My (Cara)vanlife is still in its infancy, compared with the many years you’ve been on the road. I’m at 18 months and have never been more happy or content. Life has never been better - ever. I’m learning to slow down; I’m not on vacation anymore, and I’m not back to work in two weeks time. It means I can ease back, stop filling with diesel and enjoy longer episodes of being parked up. Previously, I had many two-week holidays in Greece but I’m excited to consider spending part of next winter there. You guys are incredible and the informality of your chronicles makes for wonderfully enjoyable and inspiring viewing. Keep ‘em coming ❤

    The water is always bluer in the next bay.... Well done! The inland areas aren't as crowded but everybody wants to be at the obviously best places. I think the trend surely will go on for several years but the circumstances will be harder for the people, living their dream. It'll be a kind of living due to the social trends in Europe. Go ahead as long as you can. 🍀👍

    How did Joni not get slapped at the end. 🤣😂. The Van Life "trend" hopefully will morph more around actual people living nomadically and continue to remove itself from the fake and the silly. I became happier when I realised I can live without trinkets. Simple living allows me to enjoy my surroundings. 😊🚚

      Just dark humour I quess... 90% percent of our viewers do not watch our videos longer than a few minutes according to Google Analytics so it seems it doesnt really matter what we publish on YT. Thanks for your positive outlook on life. We wish every vanlfier was like you, the world would be a much better place. Happy vanning and living with the simple needs!

  • @philw4625
    @philw4625 4 місяці тому

    Fries looked good. What do you do with the oil though, afterwards? in the UK, Adria supply their vans with an oven (a very small one!) but it does make a huge difference to how we cook - wouldn't be without it, even if it costs a bit of cupboard space!

    • @Vantasticvan
      @Vantasticvan  4 місяці тому

      We use the same oil couple of times and then get rid of it. We have seen ovens in Brittish Adria Twins and they are SO lovely! We wish every factory made camper van came with an oven by default. We miss having an oven so bad.

      Our savings are invested in wide spectrum between stocks, bonds, funds, ETFs and high interest accounts between long period of time and all around the world. We have done that because we are not skilled professionals, so investment diversification is our way of minimizing risks on investments.
      That is also why we wont talk that much about investments, we will leave it to professionals. Plus its illegal in Finland to give investment advices, especially online. 👍

    Who cares about the trend? 😁 Honestly, I hope to get out of trend an go back as before, because the "trend" brings more restrictions overall. ✌️
    *On my 7 months stay in Greece, I managed to live with pretty much 50€ a week budget, diesel, food, and other necessities included. I've learned that by need, after I've lost my money (found them a year later, over the dashboard,in a hole).

    • @Vantasticvan
      @Vantasticvan  4 місяці тому +1

      Big crowds can cause restrictions yes. Good to hear you can live on a small budget.

    Europe has the advantage of the Union and freedom to travel to different countries. Overall in North America it's different but possible. My main constant fear is the banking system and savings...will that small percentage return continue...or a major crash and savings wiped out from the bank...potentially better to keep it in the mattress but no saving investment keeping the income steady... who knows...???

    • @Vantasticvan
      @Vantasticvan  4 місяці тому +1

      Market crash is a valid fear. But we think you can always go back to work and make more money but you can never make more time (unless you invent a time machine)
