I would love to see more dredge content but I have all the dlcs and the game's title screen calls it the complete edition so I doubt we will get more also page 115 has a fish that can only be caught using abberation bait in the open ocean
An island cave full of ice allowing fish and monstrosities to be seen swimming by and a new ecosystem full of weird/unknown regular? Fish and a massive creature's mouth frozen in place open at the end. No clue about store but that just sounds interesting
I think, the biggest issue is that the dlc is designed to be played alongside the main campaign. It feels more like a dlc meant to be enjoyed through a first playthrough
***Spoilers*** When I played through this one I started completely over, which definitely made it a lot better. There are also a few things to do that won't get you any achievements, like the relatively new addition of flags, boat paint, the camera, and some of the aberrations not required in the Iron Rig, like the rest of the exotics and the S̴̨̛c̶̳̃i̶̗̾ȩ̸͊n̴̜͒t̶̥͗i̵̎ͅs̵̙͆t̵͉͒.. Best I can do is recommend to start from the beginning if you want the best experience. Final note: The Pale Reach also feels a lot better in combination with the Iron Rig, as it gives the item you receive a reasonable use (faster travel to/from the rig).
Notable here is that is you ask the Foreman, he'll mention that the rig doesn't have the capacity for much drilled material. And the oil-like ooze doesn't seem to be oil at all. Indeed, the scientist eventually says that it's like no other known substance, and more related to the unnatural occurences around, though perhaps with quite a different choice of words. As others have mentioned, the massive creature you encountered repeatedly during this DLC has always been in the game. It is known simply as the leviathan, and is something of a balancing force in the region. 'Good' is a little more subjective than can be applied to it. It'll kill you for trying to leave or having too high a panic level in the open ocean, but if you have no panic it can still appear - it just won't attack, instead passing deliberately by in front of you. The new creatures are the quartet of threats in the ooze, which by the way does fascinating things to the local fauna and the sky while you're in it. There's also ghost apparitions of the cargo ships over their sunken wrecks, which are incredibly cool to spot in the distant night. A lot of your complaints about the DLC are likely assauged by playing it alongside the base game, rather than after it. It does lead you around the map in the exact same order, after all, though the rig's boons are quite the money sink so early in the game. Additionally, you overachieved early - each region only requires a specific four fish, but adds five new ones, the extra of which are generally the more difficult ones to get ahold of. The addition of exotic aberrations, of fish 230, and the rig's numerous other available upgrades you didn't get into do add a lot. Particularly the dredging pot and net, which are massively helpful in the mid-game. The infinitely stackable upgrade module system, the infused rods that give a significant fishing speed bonus, the ability to replenish exotic fish and use bait for aberrations; the DLC focused a lot on improving the game's existing gameplay rather than being as self-contained as Pale Reach was. Seriously, do a playthrough where you go to the rig before going to Gale Cliffs and its additions will shine, as well as its story being less rushed since you're not, well, rushing it. I will say, I do wish the rig had optional further upgrades, though. Would make the achievement for completing it feel more interesting.
8:03. That was the leviathan that got you. Been there since day one of dredge. The lore of it that it's the protector and it doesn't like anything involving anything eldritch. Only 3 ways to encounter it. 1. Going out of bounds. 2. The secret good ending. 3. Random chance on the open ocean, having higher insanity only increases the chance and makes it more aggressive
@@iggypikminunderly782Isn’t that Leviathan said to be more serpent like? Speaking of, love how so many cultures have this Jormungandr-esq beast, including cultures that never were exposed to each other, as part of their Rapture/End Times tales, just as each has a story about the great flood. The latter of which likely referring to how water held back by melting ice from the last ice age (which fun fact, we are STILL leaving) were unleashed. The ancient civilizations, such as the one believed to have inhabited much of where the Mediterranean sea lies now, were wiped out along the coast, leaving those in the upper regions to rebuild.
I think both of the dlc are best experienced during the main playthrough, when exploration and discovery are always present. If you enter them at the end with all upgrades available they're pretty short and mostly a checklist of really cool fish to find. However, they're both a lot of fun, even if only for giving me a reason to return to this fantastic game.
8:05 that is the leviathan, a creature from the base game. He’s basically just the map border. He eats you when you go too far into the open ocean normally
nope. it also appears anywhere in the map. it has shown every time I've played the game, I blame it on me never sleeping, it seems extreme and sustained panic levels spawns the leviathan too.
So as others have said, The Iron Rig is a DLC best played with a fresh playthrough. I started a new one just for it and the gradual progression really helped get more out of it. I also think that a lot of the QOL things they added help a lot to make up for the price. Also, the monster that eats you at 8:01 is actually in the base game. He'll get you any time you're in the open ocean areas while being at max paranoia for long enough or if you try to leave the map.
Another solid vid, mate! I actually started this grind when the DLC dropped so I could do it all at once. So, thanks for introducing me to this game and I'll be keeping this series on the other screen for when I need the help. See you in the streams!
So I see this story go so far is that the town u go to is surrounded by black magic in a way and u basically break the magic to a extent and each DLC shows how bad the black magic has extended and as for the oil rig I would say of course it has to do with money since there's no oil rigs around the town they decided to build their own and cause even more chaos as for the fish u give to the scientists he probably consumed the fish turning him into a fish person makkg him lose his mind and for the tentacles of course it's definitely the Kraken that's pissed the oil rig started drilling in its territory
How dare you deprive me of the my favourite part, the stats at the end 😭 I know it‘s just a DLC, but my brain craves the numbers Loved the video though :)
The only problem I ever had from dredge was catching aberrations with nets and crab pots but they solved the crab pot part. I am a bit miffed that I couldn’t upgrade the all-rounder rod but ultimately I loved the DLC.

If you want a amazing game to platinum that provides a nice challenge, I recommend Rain World and it's DLC Downpour. The worldbuilding is beautiful and the ecosystem it simulates is one of the best out there. The only problem I can see you coming across is the difficulty. The game can be brutally difficult since the environment dosen't revolve around the player. This game does not hold your hand but I think that makes it better. If you do good luck on the DLC achievements. There are 2 which will definitely take a good while. Game is worth the money and then some.
I pretty much agree whit your opinion, the DLC is good and add some way needed QoL changes but not has good as pale reach or as much content, if someone wanna buy it because it wanna play it so bad go on and grab it but most people will recomend to wait for a discount or a bundle but this DLC is totally a must
the only disappointing part is that theres no enhanced version of that ultimate fishing rod that lets you fish in every area(outside the hadal and abyss stuff)
the day the dlc came out I 100%d the DLC (I already finished the main game stuff) including all the extra exotic abberations you don't need for achievements and the scientist fish 💀 I may play this game too much
I don't know. I feel like this DLC was amazing (even better than Pale Reach, and that's saying something). For me, I like it because it provides some nice (and needed) QoL upgrades to the base game and also provides a LOT of lore whilst also maintaining the mystery.
I know it's a big ask but could you do an 100% for Naughty Bear Trouble in paradise or dead block they are a few games that were fun playing growing up but could use some more recognition or if not interested "Hell yeah! Wrath of the undead rabbit" is also a fun 2D side scroller
man I cleaned all the dark fluid and the gleaming goliath never spawned, heck I caught the new fish and their aberrations before cleaning up wtf edit: okay so if you clean all the fluid spills, you can go ask the foreman if he's seen any and it'll spawn some more
Kind of a random comment but Please, someone tell me I'm not crazy for doing Andrew Ryan's voice for the executive in the Iron Rig. He is an Andrew Ryan's relative from Bioshock and you cannot tell me otherwise. This is my headcannon
the dlcs are more complementary than expansion per see, something to play along the main game but... you asking what happened to the scientists makes me think... didnt you fished the deep form? 👀
This is the 2nd dlc they’ve botched. 1st one was too easy if you were in endgame and had little to no story. This one picked up by making it a little more difficult in terms of having to get the upgrades and crates but that ending was super underwhelming
The scientist quest is literaly for nothing. You go get his 20 fishs and the man jump out of the window??? No book? No upgrade ?? No answers on wtf je was doing else than eating the damn fishs?? I m really désappointed, pale réach was way funnier and interesting
As Lovecraftian as Dredge is, I’m kinda hoping that the developers just throw in some Lovecraft Country locales in there or perhaps do some adaptations using their art style.
cave system with cave fishes in it, and a big bat being antagonistc lovecraftian force, or a lovecraftian entity transforming u with a bout to be very, very small, so u explore micro world, and fish microbes out of the water
Guys im playing dash till puff 1 and i almost completed every achievement but there is one achievement i couldn't made its (are you human) please can i leave this game and go to another game im really tired of the hard work i did please let me play another game and get another achievement
What would you like to see in the next DLC Chapter?
The scientist returning even further mutated as a nevv danger.

I think so as well, but it wasn’t an issue for me. I was actually invested in the rig’s storyline.
Yeah i hate when games do that but if dlc is at least good i will probably enjoy this.
***Spoilers***

Scientist turns intro fishable fish. You must throw aberrent bait below the rig to find him.
wait no way
It's true
You can catch multiple of this fish, and it can be caught anywhere in the open ocean 'region'. Still quite cool.
blud just decided to devolve 😭😭😭😭
Really surprised that it's not tied to any achievements.

You can actully fish up the scientist at the rig with some bait.
Next DLC add canons to Night Angler’s boat. The game is now called Battleships.

hell yeah! im still in the middle of my grind. even after 2 dlcs, dredge remains a fantastically solid game all around
Jazzy did you hear about the time I went fishing with Skrillex..... It didn't end well, he kept dropping the bass
😂😂shit this is clever lmao

11:28 ive seen that you can catch the scientist if you throw aberration baits to where he jumped
Didn't expect this so quickly haha
I’ve been awaiting this patiently since it released. Now I shall await patiently for more resident evil videos
I was also underwhelmed, it kinda just.... ends. Happy to have 100%'d it buuuut skeptical to get any new DLC if it's also gonna be priced 3x its worth

I'm a bit miffed that there wasn't any reward for giving all the fish to the scientist. The rig really didn't have a proper ending.
Let's go!!!! Jazzy time

To be honest, i didn't even know that this dlc exist until yesterday
Nice video Jazzy!
you can catch the scientist in the water around the rig afterward
Always a good day when Jazzy uploads, especially for the silly fish game.
Now do Trepang2.
Dredge is honestly my favorite game, I can’t play it but I’m going to get a Nintendo switch in a few months
Another open water Jazzy BANGER

you can fish up the scientist with the special bait

Still wakes the Deep and this dlc making a horror rg im all for it

man I cleaned all the dark fluid and the gleaming goliath never spawned, heck I caught the new fish and their aberrations before cleaning up wtf

A small bit, but not much
Wait...achievement grind?
So, it's like the completionist, but without the charity scams!?!
You son of a bitch, I'm in!
You didn’t catch the last fish in the catalog? #230, it’ll give you a bit more.
Tried for a couple of hours to find it but couldn't find it at all and nobody said anything online, I'll be going back to check!
