In fitness, there's supposed to be a culture of self improvement. Alpha Destiny really challenges how sincerely we really hold to that ideal. A lot of the negativity towards him comes from how cringe and spergy his personality was. But at the same time we have this ideal that some dyel sperg should be able to go to the gym and improve themselves and earn genuine respect. And Alex has done exactly that. He's improved his social skills if anything more than his physique. So if we really hold true to our self improvement ideal, we have to be proud of him and hold him up as an example of someone who lived it. Making fun of someone for being wierd is OK, its a part of showing them that what they're doing isn't working, but when they respond with positive change and we don't respect that then we were just being mean for no reason.

Great video. I never paid much attention to Alex when he was (in my opinion at 49 too young several years ago but for the last 3 years or so I have consumed a great deal of his content and find him to be one of the best sources on the UA-cam for general strength and fitness. In fact, the 2 of you happen to be my favorites for no nonsense information. There are other guys I watch for different reasons (guys with a narrow focus, guys who so watch solely for their shenanigans etc) but as far as two guys with performance based focus giving useful and accessible advice I would have to say that you 2 would come most highly recommended for information designed to help Indian get stronger, bigger and more athletic with having a sport specific focus such as bodybuilding, powerlifting, strongman, wrestling, football etc. Keep up the good work and I agree 100% that anyone busting on Alex of today is either a total prick or a guy that had achieved his results so criticized him for not being 6 ft or not focusing on the big three. The bottom line is that applying his approach to getting stronger will work for anybody. After training for 35 years I have come to the conclusion that if you can progress, recover, avoid injury snd maintain muscular strength balance it doesn’t matter what type of periodization, frequency of training split you follow. The key is to be honest and train the weak links, get sufficient volume over time know when you are pushing too hard snd likely to get injured before it happens and knowing the role of sleep and diet in terms of recovery. When you can set realistic goals, always achieve them, never miss lifts, know when to reset so that your quarterly or annual trajectory is always heading north you will achieve a high level of strength and development over time. The funny thing is only about 5% or less of people that lift weight consistently for 10 years or more actually achieve these kinds of results.

To be fair, although I'm not a fan of the rack pull above the knee, his main reason for doing them was to build the traps via the weighted stretch it provides, not to build the deadlift or something, and I think he's right about that, if you want to build your traps, that's probably one of (!) the best ways to do it - not saying you said otherwise, just to clarify.

One thing I have to mention about above the knee rack pulls. I used to watch Alex a lot during my first couple years in the gym and he really influenced my training style. I was after those mountain traps and I did hella rack pulls. At the time nothing really happened and I stopped doing them. But in retrospect, I actually have huge traps now with no recent direct work. I would say above the knees rack pulls really contributed to my trap development.

Even the Jeff fake lifts things I never hated on because he was doing fake lifts. Only thing AD was doing was a goofy lift. The Jefferson dl and hack dl are good lifts. They are dl for when you want more legs and less taxing of the lower back. People are just dogmatic and shit. As for the small guys doing the rack pull... I never liked the lift either. But things got to a point of literally bullying him about personal things and not how bad the lift was. And small noobs always try to put the icing on before making the cake in the weight room. No different than them doing 8 million curls per workout and skipping big compound movements.
