I meant to thank you for a long time for presenting the RC curriculum a few years ago. I'm an immigrant and not a native English speaker. Just wanted to let you know it really worked for us and it saved our homeschool through the years of sickness and then the loss of my spouse and my parents. Kiddo is almost finished with the Saxon Calculus at 16. He worked alone his way through each book, often in hospital waiting rooms. We tweaked the curriculum a little from time to time and adjusted the reading list. We also used the old spelling books you presented a few years ago. So, thank you again because I probably would have never found RC without you! Take care of yourself!
I have to say, I really enjoy listening/watching to the realness that you give in your videos. It's not you sitting in a perfectly curated bedroom or office, with special lighting and speaking to us as though you're on a different level. Thank you for being real.
@JustSewTrish Girl, you have a "ministry of messiness." I've long joked-not-jokingly about that myself. Thank you for being beautifully, refreshingly, truthfully Real Trish. We adore Real Trish! Praying for you today! Our homeschooling life does not look how I want it to right now, either. You are a real Esther-style "for such a time" internet friend to me, having watched you on this lonnnnng journey with Jesus. Watching on! ❤
I so agree with you. Watching your videos is like visiting with an old friend who's also been through it all. We lost my MIL in 2020, than my husband's only uncle in 2022 then my FIL a year ago. I feel like we've been on autopilot for at least a year, if not 4. I finally told our coop we're taking next year off, and I felt this HUGE weight lift iff of me. My kids are so excited about next year too, which I didn't anticipate!! Hugs. I totally agree with you. We have used ACE and I have felt guilt because using that made our lives NOT revolve around homeschool.
Good to see you!! I find we are trying to have a normal stable life when it’s abnormal times. Frankly it is charitable to even care about homeschool at this point. It’s not normal times for us to get “flu”, have 6 days healthy then have the “flu” again. It’s not normal to have sore throat and blowing nose for 6 months. Me & several kids are never normal. We just get to about 80% healthy before the next illness. There’s something going on, we all know it. God help us what awaits this fall. If you are getting ANYTHING done, you are rocking it 100%.
I have watched your channel for many years and love your coffee chats and the updates you do on your life as a stay at home mom/wife it’s nice to know there are other moms just going though the same things as me.
As always....greatly appreciate your updates Trish...😍💞Maybe go ahead and post that vid on how you were going to implement curricula anyway. It may quite possibly end up helping others in their home education endeavors. PS: 🙏🙏 Praying with you all... lifting both your Mum & Katie up in Jesus name...
I love how you're so honest. This resonates with me so much! I homeschool and feel the same! And life always throws us curveballs, and it's like, ahhh!!! I love how you just roll with it. You have to! ❤
I think when all our kids are in the younger years it's good for the homeschool to be the center of everything, but as kids get older it's harder to do that. As the ages and maturity of the family spreads it's just hard to keep that center. I have been homeschooling for many years now and I am also finding this need to not make homeschool the center anymore. I think it's a natural progress for some families. Expectations and Comparisons are the killers of homeschool. I know a lot of large families and mama's who are overwhelmed do Paces and I think that's great!! I know for me personally I have to stop with the expectations of curriculum and education. I need to not feel shame for choosing something that works for us, even if it doesn't live up to MY or OTHERS expectations! I just think PACES or other curriculum similar is such a great choice for so many families and the homeschool community has a tendency of cutting these families down and it's sad. Love you lady!!!
This has been my experience as well! Middle school has been a huge adjustment for us. Where we have been really critical about our time and making sure that our actions are still aligning with our goals
I keep a very light diet when it flares up. Then i go back to eating whatever i want. When the bloat get bad, i will fast and kind of keep it in check.
Hello! Can you please explain how you do in the US when it comes to higher studies (college/university) if you are homeschooled. In Sweden, Europe, homeschooling is forbidden.
I loved Andrea Mills! What a dear sweet woman of God! Thanks for quoting her.
You are so welcome!

Hey Trish! I am new here:) I am sorry about ur mom. I’ll pray for your family 🤍 how old are ur kiddos? Are they all still home? Or did u graduate any?
Thank you. All are home, the oldest graduated last year and i have another that graduates this year
@@JustSewTrish thank you for ur reply. How exciting that u got to graduate a kid :) how old is your youngest?
Power homeschool
Is it like switched on homeschool?
Not really. AOP doesn’t fit our family well at all.
@@JustSewTrish I've not heard of AOP
But with my son finishing up 7th grade
We are definitely transitioning homeschooling in many ways
AOP is the publishing company that makes monarch, lifepac, horizons, and weaver unit studies
