- Dan Allen from Valley Marine in Yakima, Washington is giving a quick 5 minute video on the operation of a Minn Kota iPilot system. This video shows the anchor function, tracking system and easy of use.
Neat video for sure I was born and raised in the Yakima Valley before I left for the Army
I am a disabled angler and I use it all the time love it. But I am still learning all the figures. 👍🏽
This motor pushes me 3.5mph on an intex seahawk 3. Motor is easy to hook up and mount. My only complaint is the battery cables are kinda short. No problems with it yet.
how far away can the boat be from the remote because you went quite far ? Great stuff
Y love dis moteur 70lb 24v on my 16 boat it perfect
Great video, Dan! Anyone looking for a boat should call Dan Allen at Valley Marine.
You sir have a rideable RC boat now🤘
Now I just need an electronic fishing pole and an electronic beer opener. Nice demo. Thanks.
When you auto pilot how do you make it stop and hold that position? I thought hitting spot lock will disengage auto pilot
Push the anchor button.
if your recording a route and hook a fish and press the spot lock to bring your fish in, can you resume the route you were recording?
hola que bateria lleva el minn kota 55poberdray gracias y
The saleman DID NOT show any buttons being pressed. Is there a Pilot 1 video on UA-cam which shows button operation?
You can download a "Quick reference guide" straight from Minnkota's website. It shows and explains what each button does and how to operate the remote itself.
How far it too far away for the remote to work ?
Rob in the video we are about 25 to 30 yards at the furthest. We have ran the boat out to about 100 yards but that was the furthest. This video was for demonstration purposes only and we do not recommend not being in the boat when controlling your Minn Kota iPilot.
When your trolling with your trolling motor, do you leave your outboard motor in the water or lift it up
Thanks
You could do either, although keeping your main motor down can act as a rudder which may help keep your boat tracking.
Dan 2 question's which motor are you running and when you have the I pilot a foot pedal is useless correct thanks and happy boating.
+Terry Graham Really good question Terry. The model we are using on this video is a 36V 112lb Terrova iPilot. If you purchase either the Terrova or the Ulterra you also get a foot control. Even if you have the foot control you will probably use the remote exclusively.
+Terry Graham thanks for the answer Dan so if need be the foot pedal will work I just wondered the v2 power drive they say disconnect it because it won't work thanks again Dan.
Are you looking to put a iPilot head unit on a V2 power drive? If so you will not have the ability to use your foot pedal any longer. The foot control for the iPilot is different than the foot control you are currently running.
+Terry Graham No I'm just ordered the Terrova thanks.
Will the i-Pilot work with Lowrance electronics too? I see many videos with it working with Humminbird.
yes you can buy an adapter for hummingbird, lowrance
Another question, what pound thrust are you using on your trollers? I'm looking to get either a Lund Pro Guide or Crestliner 17 to 18' Deep V Tiller and was wondering if 70lb. thrust is good enough for spot anchor or auto pilot to work good or should I move towards to a 80lb.+ trolling motor.
What's the difference in anchor mode and spot-lock?
Anchor Mode & Spot-Lock are actually the same thing. People tend to use different terms or one and not the other. Although confusing, they are the same thing.
I hit anchor lock on mine and it just spins in circles ? do you know why?
Sorry to hear that, it definitely sounds like some kind of a malfunction. Our suggestion would be to take it to your nearest Minnkota Dealer and have them take a look at it.
Joey Latocha yes they have major problems with them trolling motors I just heard that they done more work to them supposed to be better. I had one it did nothing it suppose to do I sold one I had.
How long motor shaft used on the big Lund?
This boat is a Lund 2025 Impact Sport and we equipped the boat with a 60" Minn Kota iPilot.
Does it have a built in battery?
Nope. 6 years later😂
I regret the hard-sell and saying ” technology “so many times And the poor editing at the end of the video. But other than that I think it’s a neat idea cheap not so much
Mine sucks don’t buy it
