    I am a Himiway Cruiser owner (received as a birthday gift from one of my sisters). For me, there is nothing not to love about the machine. I am 191cm (6' 3") and 109kg (240 pounds). I installed a stem riser to get the weight off my hands. I ride my bike in PAS 3 in fifth gear about 90% of the time. The brake cables stretched in the first 250 miles and needed adjustment (expected). After that initial adjustment, the barrel adjusters have been more than enough to compensate for pad wear. I am not a "Mountain Biker", but more a commuter and errand rider. People call it a "budget bike", okay but so far nothing I see on the market does anything better for my use than this "budget bike".

    After watching this twice, it needs to be mentioned (as he was talking on Pedal assist modes) he didn't mention you can go into the settings (there are UA-cam video's on how to do this) and change the modes! It works on 'percentage' of power you want, so rather than using the predetermined percentages, change it to a % you prefer! I've changed my pedal assist to 7 modes (you can go as high as 9) so I have smaller % between assists, which works very well for me. As for propelling your e-bike forward if you prefer to walk it up stairs or a step part of a trail, it has the option of pushing a button, which will move the Himiway at 4 mph (walking speed) helping to move the bike, so you don't have to lift it! I've added a stem-riser on my Himiway Cruiser, so as not to be bent over while riding, and there are many e-bike accessories on Amazon or local bike shops. I have to lift my Himiway (as well as my wife's e-bike) up onto our bike rack, and at 70 years old, I have absolutely no problem doing so, so possibly some women may need a bit of help, most men should have zero issues, as I'm not a big guy at 175 lbs.

  • @Powerstroke98
    @Powerstroke98 Рік тому +6

    Another happy Himiway owner, now at 2,000 trouble free miles! Saw another Cruiser owner on Facebook, coming up on 20,000 miles on his Himiway Cruiser (some, have ditched their cars and just use e-bikes) and other than regular maintenance he says he's been happy with his Cruiser! All on the same battery, and as mentioned regular maintenance as you'd have to do with any other brand. I've added a Stem riser, Cloud 9 seat and hydraulic calipers to my bike along with Flat-out in my tires, as well as my wife's e-bike, and neither of us have had a leak/flat thankfully. I do ride on my pavement than on gravel/dirt trails, but again have had zero issues when off road either. I suppose like any bike, my backside gets sore after about 45 miles, and I've done several that long with bars still available to go further on the screen, but I'm hoping I'm close to finishing up on a ride after that length of ride personally. Being a senior citizen, I'd most certainly buy this e-bike again, and although I've never needed anything on warranty, it was a good selling feature two years ago when I bought mine!
    On Edit - I now have 3,100 trouble free miles, as it's always a joy to get out and ride!

I got lucky and knew about manipulating the programming to 28mph top speed right away, so I've been having a blast using throttle only. You taught me a lot about how to properly use the pedal assist though...thanks. I wish I lived next to the ocean so I could do more beach cruising. If anyone is on the fence about getting one...go for it! Wonderful all-around affordable e-bike.

    8:45 you are probably feeling the gyroscopic effect of the heavier wheels and tires. When going fast on a motorcycle the effect is so great that to start a turn you actually need to turn the handlebars in the opposite direction of your turn.

I had to fix the motor out of my own pocket. Their support is horrible, their quality control is horrible. Anyway, I got the replacement motor fixed. Then the screw that goes into the headset busted off (was wondering why it wouldn't ever tighten to keep alignment). My 2 year "warranty" is over and I have another issue that makes the bike unrideable until fixed. I have I think 51 miles on my bike now and the 2 year "warranty" is over. We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!

    • @daveh900
      @daveh900 Рік тому +3

      It performs great on hills and mountains. I've ridden mine 6,000 miles in all different terrains. The only problem with going down super steep single-track trails is that it's super heavy. I've gone through 3 sets of brake pads (very easy to change). If you're not worried about single-track performance, get one for sure. Super fun on the beach. This video actually taught me a lot about how to use the pedal assist. I usually just ride it at full throttle with no pedaling. I'm a big guy and have about a 20-mile range with no pedaling at all. It's cool to see how far it will go if you use the pedal assist correctly. I've had absolutely no problems in the 1.75 years I've had mine.

    Nice E-Bike for the price, but man their Cobra Pro model 1000 watt mid-drive is incredible! But then it should be for $4k...
    But I'm sure glad I did my research because it seems the one to beat at least in the sub $2k range is the Ariel Rider Kepler $1,799.
    1000 Watt Nominal, 1800 Watt Peak Power Bafang Motor.108 Nm torque.
    32-40 mph depending on weight & conditions

    This bike was really easy to assemble ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA and required very few adjustments out of the box. The wheels did not require any truing/adjustments. The frame had some small scratches, but nothing major.I did replace the seat though - the seat it came with was very uncomfortable. The tires need to be re-inflated every 4-5 days, but this appears to be quite common for the narrow 700x25 tires.Overall, in my opinion, this bike looks and rides like a much more expensive bike.

    I wouldn't buy a rear hub motor e-bike. A mid-drive is the way to go. Hub bikes don't really work as well in hilly areas. Pay a bit more and get more value for your money. You can go with a much smaller wattage and get more torque. But, the max wattage is 250, in Europe, but you can 80Nm, so hills aren't a problem. Don't buy online.

    • @TailHappyTV
      @TailHappyTV  Рік тому +3

      I always thought the same man, I actually built a custom mid drive ebike and made a video on it in this channel back in 2016 when e-bikes were still pretty obscure. The more hub drives I try the more I can see the appeal. Ultimately mid drives have more torque to the wheel no question, but I’m surprised how much hill climbing ability some of these geared hub motors these days have. For the average leisurely rider, these hubs deliver everything needed at a very affordable price, especially when bought online direct to consumer and the whole local bike shop middle man is cut out of the deal. I do a 20% grade hill test from a stop in all my reviews these days, some can do it, some can’t, but ultimately my goal is to simply show the bike so the consumer can make an informed decision. Thanks for leaving a comment, and happy riding in Europe. I’ll be over there next month!

    Do not buy any Himiway products. THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT. First of all, I couldn’t find a repair shop that would be willing to do warranty work because “ Himiway doesn’t pay their bills” I finally found a dealer that would work on my Cruiser, but wouldn’t wait for reimbursement from Himiway because they don’t pay. After speaking with Himiway they told me to go ahead and pay for the repairs. I did which was around 150 bucks. Here I am months later and still no refund. Email after email and excuse after excuse. Don’t do business with Himiway, I’m in Cali.

      @@TailHappyTV don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love my bike, BUT, God forbid something goes wrong. In my case it was the main controller. 99 dollar part and 50 in labor. Himiway sent me a list of “authorized repair shops”, but when I contacted several of them within a 50 mile radius, it was the same story, “we no longer do business with Himiway” and the reason being that the shops don’t get reimbursed for the warranty work. My only choice was one shop ( they were great) that had the replacement parts, but I would have to pay for it myself. I just hit 300 miles on my bike and it sounded like metal tin can full of nuts and bolts. I purchased two bikes from them and was getting ready to buy two more for my kids. I’m sorry to say that I will have to go to another company.
