Im hoping that we get some sort of explanation as to why Sheldon never mentions Paige from TBBT. But Im also hoping that it isn't tragic for Paige or Sheldon.

Because TBBT is not a sequel. These two shows have similar characters but exist in different realities.

I love this show. I love the sweetness and the likeability and the characters. Sometimes, I screen out the sad parts, but I like that they aren't shoved in my face.

1:17 Whats crazy is that these two played Rex (actor Wallace Shawn) and Bo Beep (actress Annie Potts) from the movie Toy Story. And Sheldon’s mom (actress Zoe Perry) is Laurie Meltcalf’s daughter (Sheldon’s mom on Big Bang Theory AND the voice actress for Andy’s Mom on Toy Story!

On TBBT they made George out to be a drunken, womanizing, a..hole, but on Young Sheldon he’s a decent guy.
While it's clear now that George and Mary's marriage are headed towards disaster, it still shows that Sheldon's recollection of his father was skewed or maybe it's a coping mechanism for him that he didn't admit in order to not get hurt by his father dying.
Everyone is a stupid loser, according to Sheldon. He's an amusing TV character, but I can't imagine spending an hour with him.
Its a contunuity error that might be an evidence to the theory that Young Sheldon is set in a paralel universe.
Meemaws personality and Sheldon growing in Medford instead of Galveston are other exsamples of this.

Its too bad that on the episode where Missy makes Sheldon think he has a crash on Paige, he first went to Georgie. If Georgie didn't say that his father only had a crush on his beer than we could have had a cool scene.
I mean after this scene there also him saying he is proud of Sheldon when he makes tea for Paige after her parent divorce.
That scene would have been realy funny.
If I was a dad and had a kid just like Sheldon and I find out he did something stupid with a girl, I’d be as happy as he is!
His reply should have been, cause it shows that he can be just like other normal (not so smart) children. Fast forward to Missy fighting, it shows she can handle herself. Georgie, well to be continued after the Mexico thing.
I foresee many "just keep walkin'" moments in my future, if my son turns out ike either of his parents 😂

Watching this episode reminded me of how excited my dad got when my youngest brother got detention one time. He never got in trouble for anything prior to that.

I hate to say it but I think the “I don’t wanna talk about it,” method aged well considering the current state of George and Mary’s marriage.
Some people come to an deep internal conflict (not like what to have for dinner) within at a young age and it is rare, like choosing between pursuing academia and having better social life or willing to go through hardships and just not caring at all.
I don't think George is appreciated by his wife and she does nothing but denigrate him

It didn't help, but the root of the problem is that he has autism or some related condition. But his mother shielded him a lot, which didn't help in him getting at least some experience on how to deal with it.
@@aleenasmakeup No he had Autism. Speaking as Austistic person raised in Texas a few decades after this I knew alot of Sheldon's. Not all became as wildly successful like he did since he is a bit of a savant. Lots of high functioning autistic people act like Sheldon which is why the character was so relatable for better or for worse.

Judging from the last episode, I doubt it was anything good. I read an article about how the reason Paige might not have been mentioned on the Big Bang Theory was because Sheldon thought of her as a cautionary tale.

She already thought (and well, knew) that her parents usually fought about her. If you have anyone to blame, blame the parents for blatantly making the child feel guilty (heck the dad was jealous the wife spent more time accompanying Paige than him)

I still think Sheldon should've ended up with Paige. Amy is good and all, but paige is much more to sheldon. Maybe they could branch out an alternate universe where the cannon TBBT happens and after the breakup with Amy, Paige walks into his life and things move on from there. And they discover the existence of Symmetrical and Asymmetricality of the forces that binds up to String Theory plus he matures Emotionally.
I thought that. Until I started asking myself if Paige would be up for the rigid scheduling, rules, and issues of the adult sheldon. Kind of doubt it.

As an adult who enjoys academics, I would definitely count breaking into a closed exhibit as date. Would be the most exciting thing I've ever done and I got to go on one cruise, cave tubing, canoeing, snuck off once to a party, and zip-lined twice. Once through the jungle of Belize and the second time over a pool of live gators at a gator park called Gators and Friends.
I feel I would enjoy the rebellious adrenaline that comes with doing something so silly as going into a closed exhibit much more. Especially if we are discussing anthropology, biology, philosophy and literature. I would be opened to physics but I don't have a grasp on it. Total date move for me.
First time I ever got in trouble with a girl my dad had a similar reaction . Truth is I wasn’t even in that situation with her, we both just happened to be pulling the same dumb stunt. To this day I don’t think I’ve ever told the man, and I don’t plan to.
