#Disarmed #Finale #Lunacy
Lunacy is the 191st game the Grumps have beaten. And yet...no one knows what actually happened in this game.
A bunch of weirdos accidentally get magically transported to a realm of whimsical bullshit. Some of them escape.
@@Rick586 "a realm of whimsical bullshit" sounds way better than what we got, but this is a great summary 😅
This is "beating a game?"
@@theothertonydutch how is it not? They played the game. They got to the end and saw the credits. Thus, they beat the game.
Pretty simple to me.
I don't know. I think I heard something about diapers.
Seeing Fred smile at the end KILLED me. It's like waiting til the end of Faces of Evil to hear Link say "I WON". This is Lunacy's I WON moment.
Same lmaoo. The combination of the anti-climactic ending and his cheesy smile did something for me 😂
They finally put an end to this lunacy.
Ha
You waited so long to make that comment 😂
Now they can finally continue with the sonic murder mystery!!
Wait...
Well done.
I'm going to remove your sidewalk.
not gonna lie, 31:05:
"I don't care about what I remember or what I don't remember. I care about what I've just seen you do" is kinda fire
Agree, was kind of a dope line in a bizarre ass game
Dad, when he gets home from the bar.
I hope they play more of these games. The more unhinged the game, the funnier the playthrough.
absolutely. gives me the same vibes as when they played “Deadly Premonition”
I would highly highly recommend “Ring: The Legend of the Nibelungen” (1998) It’s got the same vibe of insane early cg cutscenes and nonsensical greatness
Two other amazing classics of the insane old pc game genre : Mystery of the Druids & Limbo of the Lost
Limbo of The Lost, the similar game covered by mandaloregaming, or secret of the druids, would fucking melt their brains.
@@Lakatu What makes that choice particularly cruel is that they would inevitably turn to 15 hour long German opera cycle that game is based on to try and make some sense of what they’re seeing, and instead discover a whole new level of Hell to suffer in.
I'm crossing my fingers for the Mystery of the Druids - a bonkers PC game similar to this one - it needs to be seen to be believed!
I like how Arin didn't even TRY to load a previous save in order to save Hannah. Ruthless.
It actually does have an effect on the outcome, too.
he even flippantly says, "IDK if it even matters if she dies or not." lmao
he even flippantly says, "IDK if it even matters if she dies or not." lmao
@@inurokuwarz Yeah but not really that much of one.
You could say they were... HannahBarbarians.
We all agree that Arin does a phenomenal Seymour impression right?!
One could say that it's Delightfully Devilish...
Borderline scary tbqh
He got the riz, yo. Get on the train son (or daughter)!
@@deko07723 you... you are the best
Arin is a very good impressionist. He may suck at video games, but he's great at impressions!
Oh no, Hannah is dead. She was such a compelling character, what with her walking around with a piano playing her out all the time as she made mocking comments at Fred.
"Die, Gordon. Die." I died from the line delivery and run animation
Someone heard him give the line the first time and said "you need to tone it down"
I love the fact that all characters have to leave through a door at the end of the cutscenes because they couldnt be in the "gameplay" part of the game
And they were never heard from again
Congrats on the subtitles.
They explained nothing, but helped immensely. 👍
Love how zaboo’s name got changed 3 times in the game
@@IsopodsLoveItAnd somehow still never managed to get spelled right.
Idk of anyone else can relate, but this game gives me Harvester vibes. A mysterious city, protag loses memories, retro style, weird people around town
Plus for the longest time I thought Steve and Fred had the same voice actor
It also has very big Twin Peaks & Deadly Premonition vibes!
@@TheEFRoommates The difference is Steve’s voice is weirdly bland, while Fred’s voice is blandly weird.
I was absolutely thinking the same thing. It's like both got bored of the town setting and switch halfway through to a bizarre tower.
The music too.
It surprised me how good that Seymour impression was.
Enjoy your 69th like 😉
What’s it from?! I’m trying to find it
@@clydebarksdale2264 Simpsons! Search Skinner and the Superintendent
@@clydebarksdale2264 specifically type in "steamed hams"
@@clydebarksdale2264steamed hams
I have a feeling that this is one of those GG series that doesn’t get tons of views initially but over the years will become a fan favorite.
You better believe it will!
This is definitely one of my favorites now, up there with Dream Course and Amazing Frog?
@@bluebell560 And that horse girl adventure series - Sure thing!
I’ve never heard someone refer to legs as “getaway sticks” yet somehow it’s the funniest thing in this episode for me XD
In like 5 years, I'm gonna go look for this series and I won't be able to find it and I'll start to believe I dreamed the whole thing.
I shall aid you with this notification that you can try to scroll 5-years worth back to and be like "OH!" and thus find this video.
1 year down, 4 to go!
There is something intensely funny about a magical ethereal psychic moon child spirit saying
"watch out, he's crazy!"
Honestly, as broken as this game is, I really liked it. I think I can kind of see the vision they had when making it and Dan is right about how it gives you this strange afternoon dream-like feeling.
9:52 for the Seymour steamed hams bit
how did you know this was the bit I was coming back to watch lmaoo
Skinner's "Yes" is dead on
Thank you.
Thank you, they podcast I listen to mentioned Aurora Borealis and I had to come find it!
A hero!
Danny: "you know what I'm not going to do this whole bit"
Arin: "f*** you Dan we're doing the whole goddamn bit" 😂😂😂😂😂😂 🎉
Lmao! That’s essentially what happened! 😂
I checked the comments just to see if anyone mentioned this, and I was not disappointed
So many good memories already from this series:
- Diapers
- "What's this key?"
- FRED THE HERO
Sad this is ending but happy to see the series brining so many laughs to look back on!
And don't forget the 1st Disk classic: Lord Gord's Sword
EDIT: Holy Burgie, I almost forgot: "And I never saw them again" from Dan as a cutscene cross fades
It killed me with the "Fred" "What?!" That's gotta be my fav caught off guard moment
You excluded:
1. Lord Gord Rhymes
2. "And They Were Never Seen Again
3. Dan's Deathbed Story
4. And how could you forget Anthony?! 😆
@@darkdremora4436 Anthony entering the game like "Draw me like one of your French boys."
Arin did a really good Seymour and superintendent Chalmers.
I'd love to see them apply that bit to a crazy game with the voices too
A- Aurora Borealis!? At this time of year, at this time of day, in this part of the country, localized ENTIRELY within your kitchen!?
Yes
...... May I see it?
@@General_Soldiernator7106 No
3:01 “I love extremely confidently incorrectly correcting people”
said Dan Dan Avidan to Arin “Oboe” Hanson.
The Simpsons voice they keep hearing is definitely Pamela Hayden (Millhouse, Jimbo, Rod), but we’ll never have true confirmation because all the actors had their names removed from the credits lmao
Arin's extraordinary rendition of Steamed Hams was the exact type of mental break that made me laugh so hard I cried.
"You're out of your mind.....Fred"
That really got me for some reason, what even is this voice acting?
🤣
Amazing. This voice acting is... amazing.
They noticed that the little boy sounds exactly like Milhouse, but I'm surprised Dan didn't notice or comment that the doctor guy sounds exactly like Leisure Suit Larry. Especially considering the only reason I recognize that voice is from the many LSL playthroughs on here and grumpcade that Dan did as a fan of the series.
Why is Arin’s Superintendent Chalmers impression so spot on? His Principal Skinner impression is really good too!
I love how Dan just dips out of Steamed Hams and Arin finishes it by himself 😂
I will always love how Arin will make LOTR references despite never having watched any of the movies
Probably more common now actually for most people, seeing as time goes on and classics will become steadily become retro, sadly just how that works as references become further spaced out. a lot of cliches and tropes were of the time and relevant, now just being referenced or parodied upon because the base material is so far removed from modern media.
For reference the first LOTR movie was 2001, so that's now 22 years ago lol
@@Whazzupie I disagree, personally! I watched them for the first time last year and was absolutely spellbound. I’ve seen them three times now, extended editions, and am constantly resisting the temptation to watch again :) I’ve heard others around my age say they find them dated but I don’t see it at all!
I wonder how the Gourd Lord was planning to fight all the ghosts. He seemed so confident… I liked how he lost his arm and got excited about “moon tricks”. He was fabulous and crazy, I’ll miss him
I like when he said it's Gordon time and started gordin with his swordin
I love how tickled the boys were with their jokes in this episode. Classic silly grump energy.
It's Danny and The Raptor! Weekday mornings on 69.9 fm KGRP, The Grump!
31:27 OMG ROFL I adore Lord Gord's "Ooh... Noo!" xD... Just good as Wand of Gamelon and Faces of Evil deaths. "You've Kiiilled me." "Good."
"This is the stone of light. It can help restore one's inner light."
Welp...
Time for a JO sesh.
Is it invite only?
I CANT WAIT for animations from this playthrough. I don't know which episode there will be one, but I KNOW there will be one. And it will be great.
I met David Hayter at the Fan Expo in Philly this weekend and I told him that Game Grumps always bring up that they want him on as a guest and he said he'd love to! I hope this comment gets traction cause I have no idea how to get ahold of the Grumps
god I fuckin loved everything about this. I loved the graphics, the weird windy map, the weird characters, the dumb ass story, the wonderful music, the hilarious voice acting and best of all the bois making the most hilarious jokes and havin fun.
I kinda wanna play it on my own without a walk-through and draw my own map and stuff.
I'm gonna miss looking forward to this every weekend
Seymour voice outta nowhere was fantastic lmao
9:50
At 12:00 Dan says "What's up with those getaway sticks?", which is a reference to Phantasmagoria. Dan and Brian make note of a character calling legs "getaway sticks" in one of the Phantasmagoria episodes, I can't remember which one.
I commonly revisit this video just for the Steamed Hams impression. 9:51
The technical name for a loading icon is a "throbber". Don't want to be pedantic, but the knowledge is worth a giggle.
17:40 Sometimes I forget that there's a secret third grump, lurking in the background, commenting every once in a while and/or offering assistance when needed
10:21 I'm glad Arin took over the bit and kept it going, I loved this. ❤
This play through was freakin magical. Game grumps has been a true source of joy and giggles for years but this one was just *chef’s kiss* amazing. Thank you guys for being awesome, and sharing in the lunacy.
Arin getting his hexagonal tendencies on after that hexagonal mirror made him reflect on how he loved men now was more of a gem than anything that magical green gemstone could have ever done.
I know not many enjoyed this playthrough, however goddam I am so thankful you finished this. This whole playthrough was amazing. Something interesting btw, at the end everyone in Misty Town who returned has the moon mark on their heads except for of course Fred, but also the mysterious ANTHONY
Hearing Arin recount the "Steamed Hams" bit makes me think of that character from Adventute Time who has approximate knowledge of all things.
I'm dying at Danny opening the episode with flatly saying the lyrics of a Limp Bizkit track lmao
27:24
Perfect timing of the zoom in matching the deep sigh and the mouth movements matching with Dan's "Wrap it up!"
Holy moly, Arin performing Steamed Hams was glorious!
Another finale already, get Insane Ian on the horn!
Did someone summon me? 😅
👏👏👏
Dan bringing the Limp Bizkit lyrics outta nowhere really got me, too
"Dont be sad because its over. Smile because youre gonna die some day"
Behold! The last

Omg Arin does such a good principal skinner impression
Lord Gord with his sword is never leaving my brain
Arin's Skinner impression was so spot on that I'm convinced he secretly hired the original voice actor to do this bit with him
"DIE GORDON DIE!" I'm falling apart 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Honestly, thoroughly enjoyed this playthrough! ❤
10 years later and these two still crack me up EASILY. beautiful playthrough
I love that pretty much everyone has the entire script of Steamed Hams memorized now 😂
Arin doing the whole steamed hams bit is just what I needed today xD
the spontaneous steamed hams is so good
I love all of you. For the last 12 years you have brought so much joy and laughter to my life.
Wait so was his name actually Fred or was it the name he came up with when he lost his memory? Or was he really weirdly lucky and came up with the name that happened to be his real name?
You're wrinkling my brain
4:04 Now we can finally have our gay brothers FMV dreams come true. Can't wait for Fred to say "Anthony??!!" in crisp 360p with god awful lip sync.
I know these aren't your most popular games, but I love when you guys play them. I remember playing ones like it through the 90's and 2000s. Weird but kind of fun times.
Krusty the Clown: "What the hell was that?"
Okay can we all agree that the "YES" at 10:34 was basically indistinguishable from the original?
31:20 "Kingdom Hearts isn't darkness, it's light!"
I need them to play more of these weird as shit Myst-likes. Not only is it hilarious to watch them play them, the games also have a great atmosphere to them.
Arin 's -out of nowhere- almost.perfect recital of steamed hams is exactly why I love Game Grumps
Everytime I hear the name Fred, I'll be sure to only think about this game now.
And every time we kiss…
Well, that sounds like a you problem.
This feels like the kind of dream that you'd have when you're extremely ill
15:50 my sentiments exactly throughout this entire series.
Holy shit Arin's Seymour is spot on
I love it to no end when The Grumps play wack games like this. Some of the best content ever.
Dan being so impressed with arin's impression is wholesome af
“It’s cum Hannah” this came out of nowhere and hit me like an axe. Had me in stitches 😂
The basically just the Zelda fairy fountain theme at the ending makes me wonder how this game didn't get sued out of existence. Then I remembered, on the off chance Nintendo saw it they probably weren't concerned.
3:33 "Hey Jerry... Isn't light supposed to be fast? Does this seem wrong to you?"
"Shut up, Derek, just do as your told!"
I had just taken a bit of food at the "How's my dad?" bit. I'm so happy that i didn't try swallowing roght away, otherwise I would've choked. Too funny 😂
I, much like Dan was not ready for the Gay Brothers reference at 20:56
Apparently there's a bunch of post-game scenes if you put disk A back in, depending on how you played. Guess they'll never see them!
You can’t convince me that this game wasn’t made entirely by fucking aliens… you’d HAVE to be one to make a game so detached from reality and sense.
33:36 “me and my fiancé noticed you from across the bar and we like your vibe…”
9:50
Ignore this comment, its for my own add-fueled "repeat a funny scene until it becomes dull" moment
FMV is it's own brand of absurd weirdness. Glad we got to see this to the end but wow that was an underwhelming ending while raising so many questions
There's something so strangely alluring about this game. The voice acting is atrocious (given the time of release, that's expected), the animation awkward. And while the story is nonsensical, there's JUST enough to it to make you curious as to what outlandishly stupid thing you'll see next. It's like watching a dream: most of the time, it's indecipherable...but occasionally, there's some logic to it.
One of my favorite playthroughs you guys have done in a while -- keep it up.
20:55 don’t ever listen to that part while bench pressing, idk what would of killed me the bar or laughter 😂
24:42 "Was it something I said?"
Good-bye, cast of Lunacy. I'll miss you most of all, Conan O'Brien!
28:40 last video i mentioned the voice actress sounded like one from Happily Ever After, and now the game plot is almost the same as the ending. Delightful
"Anthony!"
'I gotta get that big MOON of yours.'
Well that was quite the adventure, almost as out there as harvester, i hope they can find more games like that and this just really wtf games that are old but still good. If anyone ever remakes this, i bet the story and acting could be really good and gripping, either without much change or with adding or changing a few things.
the whole bit about "losing S's" reminds me of the Mitch Hedberg joke, 'im in the S-th and i want some s-p! i stubbed my toe: -ch! i need to lay down on the c-ch! i need to get the fuck -t of the S-th!'
God, now I NEED them boys to play a Dracula game from 1998 that is quite like this one, pleeeaaase!
Also: Arin's recitation of steamed hams is amazing.
This series of videos for Lunacy was a laugh riot. Great work Dan and Arin, thank you.
Surprisingly, this game actually reviewed pretty well on release, including positive commendations for both its story and its graphics.
