the chainsaw part was him killing his drug addicted self, he got off of drugs while he was in prison, and his mom was an addict that abandoned him when he was younger, he wrote a song about it called The Day I Left The Womb when he was in his first band Escape the Fate, you should check it out
Wrong, the black hair version is the drug self, the blonde hair version is the clean one. That is why the blonde one is with his daughter in losing my life. It's a never ending battle between the two. Also indicated by Corey Taylor with devil horns saying die motherfucker die.

@@garfellow5507 Its literally in the lyrics. He says if drugs are killing you, then they're murdering me. Cut to him literally being murdered by his drug self. Also, at the beginning of losing my life the blonde one wakes up not knowing where he is or who the reflection is. And the reflection says hes been asleep for a long time. Thats essentially him waking up sober after his dark hair self (drug self) has been in control while he was a drugged out mess.

Agreed. People still give him shit still but I genuinely think he's turning his life around and becoming a better person. The ability to recognize your faults and improve on them is a rare one.

"Accept the pain just to feel again" is the realest line in a song I've heard in a minute. That's the part that sucked me into this song. It's so true. I got 6 years and it's the real deal man. Short term pain for long term gain. Going thru life numb ain't got shit on the real thing. I just wish I didn't have to fight that demon to realize it. But like he says... It made me the person I am today

This line gets me, it got me thinkin, like this could mean, that every day from the day that Ronnie was born, he was living in a dream, a nightmare to be exact, he had a drug addict of a mother, had a great start with his previous band ETF but got thrown in jail, when he got out he could not return to his original band and started anew, and now, here he is Ronnie in 2020, had a wife and a daughter and is killin it with his new EPIC music releases! He has come back from a NIGHTMARE and in "THE DREAM". Peace!

Ronnie's mother left him when he's was a young kid. His father raised him and his brother alone. His dad and mother was an addict.

As a recovering heroin addict and someone who battles everyday with depression this song hits hard
Keep at it man and respect for kicking the habit. I have depression and anxiety battles everyday also kicked drugs 15 years ago it's still a struggle but my life is better now.
Same boat man. Congrats on getting sober. I’m about 7 years sober myself. I’ve dealt with depression and drug abuse from a really young age. I’m still working on the depression and anxiety, but keep it up man, respect.

Congrats on the recovery! I am also a recovering heroin addict, 3 years clean myself. Had a relapse with oxycontin and tramadol, but I am 39 days clean from that now as well. Drugs are hard to kick but we got this dude, lets hang in there 👍

OH I LOVE THE BAND RED i get so pissed at how underrated and basically unknown they are. They're fan damn tastic!!! One of the first bands i ever heard that got me into rock
I legit started laughing at Jimmy's face when Corey came in! I saw him going to pause it and just thought 'oh not yet' and then when Corey hit and his face was just priceless. I hate that the surprise got ruined for you guys too but still an awesome reaction as always. Had a rough day today and was so stoked when I saw this video had dropped, knew it would pick my day up and it did so thank you guys for that. And Mike you said it best, everyone knows that growl. Also worth mentioning that the F bombs didn't really start dropping in this song till Corey showed up...Go figure. You should really react to "brother" and after that to "Chemical prisoner", they're both tracks about his brother who passed away 7 years ago and they're pretty emotional and deep..

When I connected to this song I saw it from the unique perspective of education. The education system of North America is so brutal without remorse on so many people. There is so many unique people who learn in their own way, yet if you don't learn the one way they teach you feel stupid. This develops depression and anxiety, or possibly other symptoms. People use prescription drugs, or substance abuse to cope often. Like you said "Drugs is a generic term" that can be used for just about anything related. Everyone will relate different to music based off their experiences. This is when I love music and artists the most.
New viewer here, absolutely love you guys love your reactions. Ronnie has been a big influence and idol in my life. Love the way y'all break down each part. I don't mind the pausing. If I may, I highly suggest Brother or the day I left the womb.

The drummer in this video was from the band black vail brides which IMO is another dope band if you listen to them do “in the end” or “pens and knifes”
Subscribed because of this adventure and like your reactions. You guys break this down better than any other channel I’ve seen and I respect your “purist” side doing this trilogy properly when nearly every other channel didn’t and chased the view count. Respect.

I like that you take the time to actually go over lyrics and their meaning. Other channels just say they like the beat or they can’t get past this or that. That’s a common misconception of metal. People won’t look past the screaming and hard sound. The lyrics actually hit home for a lot of fans because it talks about real life. Keep it up guys! New fan here!
Guys, I've seen a lot of "Reactions" on these songs.... You guys get it. Most don't. As a recovering alcoholic and addict... I relate to this journey that is having so much fun staring down a loaded gun, is. I'm glad that you guys really listened to his lyrics and understood what he was trying to get across.

I relate to this song so much. Like I tell my "mom" what he says to his, because I'm in the same shoes. Anyways, it sucks so much that people feel the need to spoilers and tell you about Corey Taylor being it in. But, the one thing people miss is that the have a drummer filling in while they were on that tour. Their former drummer left them high and dry. The drummer they have is CC (Christian Coma) from Black Veil Brides. I'm pretty sure he's actually in this video as well. Not sure if you've done this video yet, but Asking Alexandria "Into the Fire" they have an acoustic version too, which is soo good...

Man, such a double edged scenario. From the outside in no bystander can truly know the feeling of wanting their MH illness boughts to subside so they turn to drugs, sex, ect. They just want to feel normal and then hate feeling numb from meds. It's a vicious cycle, don't be so quick or harsh to judge on word of mouth or sight alone of an individual. That's a fool's act🤘💚

Awesome reaction as always!! Ronnie's clean and he was killing that part of him that was addicted to drugs. His dad was an addict and they bonded by being addicts together for a while. His dad got clean and then Ronnie did and now they bond over being in recovery and clean and being healthier. Ronnie and how he expresses himself always makes me think of Oli Sykes too. I have so much respect for people who put their story out there and are real. It saves lives and we, as fans, help them heal too. It's really amazing. Sucks that people spoiled Corey for ya though. I'm SO anti-spoiler dudes hahaha
